- Rail yard trip to BNSF Corwith, Chicago Illinois
This is a rail yard I go to all the time, and I think it's one of my favorite yards. It's easy to in-gate and out-gate here, and I'm familiar with the layout. Most of the drops and hooks you do in this yard are away from any actual train loading/and unloading operations, so you generally aren't crossing tracks and worried about cranes and forklifts in the main traffic routes.

This was my yard from 98 to 2002. I was a yard checker for TTS Terminals. Driving up and down the rows. Seems like a different time. I dont see RTS, C.I, MGM or even Parsec.
All names long forgotten by the Intermodal people. Had so much fun in this yard. On some nights we sneak girls into the yard and hide all the way in the back. Man being 18 years old in 1998 and making $12 and hour I felt like a king. Great times. I was working when the 3 mechanics got electrocuted and died in the corner of the yard. Very sad.
This yard is well known in my family since the 80's my uncle started going to Cortwith yard in 1986 and my dad back in 1997 when I was a kid and now me and my brother go there to pick up and drop containers all COFC boxes!! Many memories
I'm always in this neighborhood... Great to finally see inside of this huge yard. It didn't even occur to me that the kedzie entrance and the 47th entrance would have the same yard. Im gonna be starting with Schneider in a few weeks. So thanks for sharing Colin

I think this is the best railyard in the Chicago area.
Great video
I work at this yard. Our hostlers are governed at 20mph but stay at 17mph most of the time lol, trust me we complain about it all that time, so don't think where driving slow on purpose lol.
One of the many reasons I left, fuck corwith. Much better working for a contractor.
I just applied to BNSF Corwith. The job covered hostlers, cranes, and a list of other equipment. Any advice?
Said starting pay was $20 and change.
@@NavyDave219 you still there?
Wow that looks like an easy job !!
michael czajka yeah, try it
I did that job for four months out of Chicago and I also hauled new cars for 16 years , this is one of the easier jobs that I had , I ran the Northern Wisconsin runs and also went to Iowa a few times with JB
michael czajka oh
i love intermodal in chicago,,,,
You just proved to your safety department that you couldn’t give two shits about the equipment, safety, or the law by not performing a post trip inspection. Nice one. If I was filming, I’d at least pretend to do a walk-around. Lol.
I grew up in Burbank, so this is my old neighborhood. Other than the local connection, there's not a whole lot here to hold my interest
Hi Colin thanks for making the best trucking video's ! Also do you have a truck tour video at all ?
How do they know where your trailer is? You seemed to have picked a random spot to park....
Should let them know to visit willow springs more often we have a TON of red tagged chassis
Dear, do you know which rail ramp terminal that APL service would come in Chicago, IL? for service via USWC or Canada?
Let's see you do a video of 47th, I want to see myself on camera.
Hi Colyn, I'm new in this, the small company were I'm working is trying to buy their own truck to pick up the container from Union Pacific Rail Train in Joliet IL, now the company is paying to OEC to deliver the container from China to Chicago, OEC have semi-truck companies who deliver to us the containers, but now the company wants to do it self.
Do you know how to do it, where to go or call? Thank you.
how do you park in those slanted parking spaces
45 a 45 , think about it
what's that "little building" you first drive through?
General R. E. Lee ingate portal “light barn” takes a picture of the trailer and container
Finger print now we got James bond stuff what next eye scan and,a piss test to get in.
corwith is prolly easiest place to do a chasis flip
