@@manfredkemper1936 Not sure if they got to pick races knowing the positions or not? But more than anything, the two South teams should have asked for trade as soon soon as they game started. Having water trade, even if only short range, could have been a big help for them as it would have been well defended the entire game.
The craziest thing about this is that Teal hitting Grey right at the start as he wandered around probably cost Teal, Purple and Blue their lives because it made Grey not trust Teal and want to side with the Western sides instead. I honestly feel that move was way more important than anything in this entire game. First impressions last.
There are practically infinite ways they can be played, with each iteration having a significant enough difference to all others to make it unique. That's what makes a great videogame.

Age of Empire inspired me a lot in taking up History as my main subject. Now I've just completed my Masters degree in History.💪

Spoiler for the 40 min mark: I think Purple did what he did *betrayed teal* because he thought it might give him brownie points with the Western Alliance. Same mistake gray made, really, just in a more treacherous way. The reality is the only reason you should do something like that is if you think it will make them no longer consider your alliance the biggest threat and instead each other becomes their biggest threat and letting you survive long enough for their civil war to ensue. Purple had the worst timing on the planet, never got even a remote assurance from the western alliance they cared one iota what he did in the time it was going to take them to destroy him. Hindsight 20/20, but Grey was already in the process here of realizing he was bamboozled when yellow attacked his eco and the others just shrugged. He might've swapped sides and with teal and blue stood a better chance...this was just a shitty betrayal all around.
29:20 if you use grid hot keys, then T is attack ground for onagers but garrison for other units. Probably panicked and pressed T and the castle for the wrong unit group.
I gotta say I rooted for Joseph Stalin. Just top quality diplo skills. They probably would have 2v1 him anyway, so the Wonder was actually a good idea and a breathtaking development in the story!
The End of Stalin felt like the destruction of the Ring in the Return of the King :D An endless stream of orcs armed with pikes against the forces of the good, and then everything evaporated !
The best monk to curse others would be the last grand master of the Templar Order Jacques de Molay, who cursed the King of France and his heirs, creating the Accursed Kings and then the Hundred Years War!
Please make this map a regular feature in community games. This is freaking good. Got the point that res distribution is not that great but come on Fish access somewhat balance the gold stone in the north. This game shows both why I love and hate about FFA. The fact the guy no one wanted to team with won. I love the underdog win! But then again when purple turned and killed teal man I was like bro where was your honour dude. That was low man. So much so it was a kinda turn off for me.
I think this is possible, but I think it might be map scripting, so not sure if you could get it to apply to random maps. I play LOTR by Sirak, and when you die your units go to your ally, and the pop space is also given to your allies, to try keep it balanced

I'm so happy for grey, especially since T90 spent the whole game saying grey shouldn't have allied the other side and that he was about to die.

My favourite was blue, they held off for so long.
It was so harsh of yellow and orange to be so focused on them.
