I loved the ending-Tennessee popping in and out of the clock like a cuckoo bird! Yes somehow he managed to get his way out of this one, for he did survive to make more episodes! ;)
I remember the electric clocks of my school and how easy it was to tell when a minute passed because the minute hand would make that slight click noise. When I think of atomic-powered clocks, I think of the one used for the shortwave radio station out of Colorado. en(dot)wikipedia(dot)org/wiki/WWV_(radio_station)
Yep, those were impulse clocks your school had. My schools' clocks used AC synchronous motors, still driven by a master clock panel in the main office that I'd often synchronize my (quartz) watch to.
Tennessee Tuxedo: there, you see Chumly? Tennessee Tuxedo does not.......... (fading voice) fail -falls back violently out of the roof and into the clock tower's gear matrix as he finishes- -loud crash into the clock tower's main gear matrix with Tennessee Tuxedo popping in and out of the clock tower's face on a heavy spring like a cuckoo bird- ROFLing
I used to wake up early to watch Cartoons like this when I was a kid. Thanks for putting it on youtube.
Yes. And notice, also, that like other shows of the day, it talked TO kids, not DOWN TO kids. Such a good show.
How are you

The gag at 4:59 - 5:00 's a ref to the Golden Age radio sitcom "Fibber McGee & Molly", 1935-57.
