Yet we end up with mosaic pixelation or worse nearly full-screen whiteout. The same for horror/violent anime - part of the point of the genre is the very thing they're censoring out. Just release an uncensored trailer with a link to purchase the full movie/series or release a tamer version of the same show, without needing censorship.
It's in the JP law that they can't distribute uncensored stuff like that in JP, that's why some of the 18x artists only released their uncensored work in Patrion. And why the censored thing exists and going worse in Japan is mostly political related stuff that people have nothing to do with the industry stirring things up.

It used to be that certain companies would license hentai for distribution overseas, and since they're distributing it to places without those censorship laws, they could release an uncensored version. However, Japanese citizens were importing the uncensored overseas version (since they still had the Japanese dub, they weren't missing out on it), and having run-ins with the law, since even possession of uncensored porn is illegal in Japan. So, overseas companies were basically forced out of partnerships to distribute hentai. And that's why newer hentai may never get officially uncensored and/or dubbed. Or so I've heard.

Judging an entire country based on its porn is a very superficial way to look at things. While those issues definitely exist, and deserve to be addressed, banning porn isn't going to make those issues disappear.

Now imagine you have no choice, you cannot refuse, so you start playing checkers, and when you best them they start complaining "didn't you want to play chess? Why are you following the rules of checkers?".
This is the same, I have left leaning ideology (not commie or anything), but in doing well. Would I like paying more taxes and better services for everyone? Yes. Does this mean I'm going to play the game wrong just because it's not the game I want to play? No.
