This glass only repair was obviously done on an iPad Air as the titled stated! But please keep in mind the iPad air 2's glass replacements are much more difficult and not as easy as an iPad Air. Please do not attempt an iPad Air 2's glass replacement only, yourself! An iPad Air 2's glass replacement takes an experienced technician with professional heating equipment to complete it safely and properly. Good job on this repair but it is by far one of the easier iPads to do this type of repair as stated in this video. Good Day to all!
Slightly confused. I will be doing this task on an iPad air 2. So I have been told that both the digitiser and the LCD are connected together. From your video it looks like they are 2 separate pieces. Does this video only apply for the iPad air first generation?
Except for the part where it is super easy to damage your lcd screen underneath if your first prying technique goes 1 millimeter past the glue. So yeah you can damage more then the ribbon cable. My lcd is toast now. Just be aware
Brilliant and helpful video.I've demaged a conector while I was trying to change my LCD,in your video is at 7:53 mins,do you think that can be replaced? Thanks
I dropped my 64 GB ipad air 2 (Model MH182CL/A). The glass is NOT broken but the screen brightness is effected with two grey streaks running up the long side of the screen. Which part(s) would I need to order and replace?
You'll have to replace the LCD/digitizer assembly. Just type in "Ipad Air 2 model a1670, a1671, or a1821 lcd/digitizer replacement". It's not a hard repair for anyone experienced, but the part can be quite expensive. Good luck!
Is this the original iPad Air or the iPad Air 2. I am looking into doing a screen replacement as I cracked the glass on my iPad Air 2 last night. But I'm confused by reading different reports saying that the iPad Air 2 cannot have just the glass replaced because the lcd is now attached to the glass. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm replying 5 years later in case anyone new watching this has the same question. This is the original iPad Air 1st generation. You can tell by the main button with the printed square symbol on it.
Just replaced the screen for my iPad Air, and the part on the right where the ribbon cables are on the digitizer seem to be pushing the screen upwards and slowly prying it open again... not sure what to do about that other than just using a protective case that holds it down. Other than that, the new screen replacement seems to be working fine.
Hi do u respond to comments?? This video is old.... Anyway.. My daughters iPad cracked! Everything still works.. But the screen is mangled obviously.. So do I only need a screen?? Or what is the digitizer.. do I need that too? Or is it safe just to get a screen? It looks just like yours in this video thank you so much
Thank you just waiting for the glass screen to change this same iPad I’m texting, very helpful. I changed the glass of iPad 3, works fine, I hope this one would be the same. Is really necessary to use the double sided tape, as the screen come with adhesive around already?
Be advised that the iPad A1674 lcd is glued to the glass digitiser and not held by 4 screws, unfortunately it was my first time to replace the glass and ended up having to replace the lcd/glass combined. Don’t know why Amazon sell the glass as a replaceable item ? 🤬🤬🤬
Good video but you left out a very important part and that is reinserting the plug for the home button and showing how that connector locks down . I was waiting the whole video for that part 🤬🤬🤬

What about the home button? How does it attach. Also is this the same for the air 2?
The LCD is attached to the digitalizer in air 2.

You don’t have to unground the iPad?
After iPad Air the digitiser is loca glued to the screen so not all similar
Hi
I listened your whole video now my ipad is broken
So, you cut the part out where you actually fit the screen on. So, I do not know where the cable to the home button goes...
Airparrot model iPad case
Good video but you left out a very important part and that is reinserting the plug for the home button and showing how that connector locks down . I was waiting the whole video for that part 🤬🤬🤬
you did not cover the part of the sensor, I know that when you change the touchscreen you have to cover the sensor and right now I have that problem
Luis Tamborrell what do you mean cover the sensor? I want to know so I don't screw anything up.
Where to get glass anyidea
Gomathi Ramachandran I ordered one on Amazon for $35. Just look up “iPad screen repair kit.” I got one through a place called Repair Parts Plus.
I cracked my iPad by dropping it won't
One thing I have been trying to find a person who can fix my iPad screen and home button and I don’t know what to do
You cant fit the home button without calibrating the part only techs or apple can do that
IS this AIR PAD 2 ??
