- DJI is no stranger to high-speed first-person view (FPV) drones and the second-generation Avata 2 will be met with enthusiasm from FPV pilots, as well as content creators who will be interested in updates to imaging quality.
Discover precisely which upgrades DJI has implemented in our DJI Avata 2 review and specs comparison with the first-generation FPV drone, and find out what’s included in each Combo to decide which drone is perfect for your needs.
We also discuss the new DJI Goggles 3 and DJI RC Motion 3, both of which are included in each of the new Combos. So buckle up for DJI’s adrenaline-fuelled FPV experience, which just got a whole lot more immersive.
Before getting into all of the upgrade details, the DJI Avata drone is the Chinese company’s FPV line (First Person View), which features a built-in propeller guard for added safety. It’s based on a CineWhoop style of drone, designed to capture footage in tight spaces where full-sized drones struggle.
Avata 2 is a good starting point for beginner pilots to develop their skills, and an excellent drone for more experienced pilots to enjoy incredibly immersive flights. You really can get through smaller gaps, nearer the ground and around impossibly tight spaces, with a drone which reaches a top speed of approximately 60mph.
Flying an FPV (First Person View) drone offers an exhilarating experience, providing the sensation of genuine flight. This immersive thrill is a major draw for pilots, contributing to the popularity of FPV drone flying among enthusiasts. Creators can also record fantastic FPV footage, which you’ve no doubt seen on social media
DJI launched the second-generation Avata 2 drone and Avata 2 Combos on April 11, 2024. The drone came out at the same time as DJI Goggles 3 and remote controllers, with the DJI RC Motion 3 and FPV Remote Controller 3 hot on the heels of the first-gen. August 2022 launch
