    Passing is a way to minimize the threat of attack both physical and verbal. As you said it helps you to be able to go about your life with minimal interference. It is also a comfort for yourself. It is a form of self care.

    For me I would say the number one tip was building self confidence. That sounds cliche as hell but for me this was what helped the most with “passing”. You can tell when someone is insecure with what they are wearing &/or how they look. And lets face it, unless your lucky to be bort short, most trans fem people are going to be “taller than the average woman” so people are going to stare at you no matter what you look like. But the key is when they stare at me they see someone who is confident in their womanhood, not a meek mouse of a person who is worried about the attention. I say that to say, most Cis women aren’t walking around with the energy of constantly questioning there own woman-ness (not saying cis women don’t have their own individual struggles with their womanhood and feminine expression). Once I applied that thinking to myself honestly they way people started to interact with me changed and my ability to “pass” increased dramatically.
    Anyway love your videos 😘

      I agree. I'm one of the lucky ones to be short enough that my height doesn't attract attention, and other than that, my body language never really was masculine, so I found that I'm gendered feminine without makeup, which gave me more confidence, which has made it very natural. I don't worry any more in every day life, about 3 years into full femme presentation and hrt (non-binary before that)

    Pro tip No.6 - Don’t try too hard. Chewing gum while twizzling hair with fingers doesn’t make someone look more girlie. It looks dumb and it’ll attract more negative attention than positive.
    Also,wear make up that suits you,not just what’s on trend.
    Great to see you again Mathilda,have a good weekend 🤟 I caught the nail polish 💅 😜

    I tend to have a good sense of style, at least numerous people have told me this. I think clothing is important to blending in. I think about my age range first, and then I think about cute clothes styles that have really caught my eye on other women. After that, consider the occasion. I have a gorgeous red dress I'd love to wear, but it ain't going to the grocery store with me. Temper what you really want to wear if it will have you stick out like a sore thumb. I like makeup to hide features I want hidden, not to seem like a display model at the makeup counter. Less is better. Find your style, and smile, that is inexpensive to have but priceless all at the same time.

    this is gonna be an unpopular opinion. but i want to be honest. a lot of us have to understand that it is fine to pass as an ugly woman.
    now, hold up before you hate on me and let me explain.
    some of us, especially the older girls, unfortunately took a lot more testosterone damage. unless you have the money to fix it, you wont be able to get around that. many will think of you as an awfully, ugly woman.
    BUT. everything is arbitrary. there are so, so many cis women who look masculine in some way. and this is fine. they look great. maybe not for you, maybe not for me. but we dont matter.
    someone will find them beautiful. but most importantly, they have to find themselves beautiful.
    and the same applies to us. for me, i kinda accepted the fact that i will at most be able to pass as an ugly woman. but thats fine. why? because i can look at my own face and not hate myself.
    maybe most people will see me and think "oof, thats nasty", but when i see myself in the mirror, i no longer see a monster. i see myself and can smile, even on the bad days.
    and at the end of the day, because of that, i dont hate myself anymore. in fact, i am no longer depressed.
    this goes for the voice as well. some dudes have voices so light and high, hearing them on the phone without a face, i would think they are women. it also goes the other way around. some women have such raspy deep voices, without seeing their hairless face and bewbage, i would think they are older men.

    • @tlynhen
      @tlynhen 2 года назад +9

      Such a wise comment. It seems like cis women are more accepting of their own faults and own them and their beauty. It makes me sad to see so many trans women struggling to love themselves. Looks fade eventually for all of us. I’m sure you’re beautiful but please know I appreciate your intelligence and thoughfulness

    • @chrissyweikoop7931
      @chrissyweikoop7931 2 года назад +2

      @@tlynhen thank you for your kind words!
      but i kinda disagree with you. i think, cis women are probably at least equally unaccepting of themselves, hence why we have had all these beauty products for multiple decades. i just think the focus shifts a bit. i.e. a trans woman is maybe more insecure about her hairline or jaw, while a cis woman is more insecure about things like creases or blemishes. on the other hand, i personally know two cis girls who either think of their voice as too deep, too manly, while the other thinks her hips arent wide enough, not feminin enough.
      its... i dont know. i dont have the words to express my sadness about it all. we are living in times that shouldnt make anyone feel bad. and yet, both women and men of both kinds have so many things about themselves that make them, in the worst cases, hate themselves. 😮‍💨
      but! i do hope at the very least, that you are accepting of yourself and find only happiness in your beauty. 😍

I've just never loved, or even liked, myself. Not until I started transition (HRT and all). So I know I'm in the right place, and the right time, doing what I should be doing. And I'm so so sooo happy for those that can start their transition journey earlier. I'll always feel just a tiny sliver of jealousy. But it's small over all. Trans RUclipsrs, I have advice for you.
    I think it’s great that you want to spread knowledge about your experience and give advice to others who may be going through what you’ve been able to maneuver. I think it’s great that you want to inform, educate, and correct misinformation. I think it’s important to discuss these things, especially when you’re discussing the medical, mental, emotional, and societal hurdles, but I think you shouldn’t stop there. Discuss these topics as you find you need to, or as your audience requests, but now I want to get to know the real you. You’ve stepped into who you are, and you’re so much more than just trans. I want to know what your favorite color is, what music do you like, what’s your spiritual routine, what color do you want your hair to be next, what’s your workout routine, what kind of dog or cat you want to get, like you’re now who you have always been, just a lot more visibly and so when I look at you, I don’t just see someone trans, I see you. Show me who it is I’m looking at.

    • @RemiGemini

      i think its ok to dedicate your youtube channel to just be about your experience with transitioning. a common thing we tend to forget as viewers is that no youtuber or online personality is our friend necessarily, no matter how open and genuine they might be. just because Mathilda and other trans youtubers only talk about transitioning, doesnt mean that its their whole personality. they simply do not have to show that side of them to us personally

ESP less is more - a trans make up artist friend would make me up way too much and it didn’t work. I just use a bit of mascara (love it) good foundation and add pre foundation the beard block cream which helps so I don’t have to shave every day. Love lipstick too! Ty again. Hmm, I feel like there is definitely a pretty thoroughgoing feminist critique of this advice. If Mary Woolstonecraft's Vindication of the Rights of Women in particular could comment on youtube videos, I'm sure it would have quite a lot to say about this video. Well, but the situation with trans women always seemed more complex to me. Other women might have their femininity questioned, or might be seen as weird or as a nonconformist for not wearing makeup or for wearing nonconformist outfits, etc., and this can lead to discrimination, but for us our womanhood itself gets challenged in a way other women don't experience in the same way. The stakes feel higher.
    Maybe that's a biased opinion, because obviously I'm going to be more familiar with my own experience than with the experience of other people, but that's the impression I get from talking with feminist cis women about leg hair for example. The feminist in me wants to agree with feminist cis women I know that it's strange and requires an explanation that society wants women to shave our legs to always be smooth, since although men tend to have thicker leg hair than women, adult cis women have a fair amount of leg hair naturally unless they have a medical condition, and the only people who tend to naturally have smooth hairless legs are prepubescent kids. What is so attractive to society about women with legs that resemble prepubescent kids? Why is that the expectation, especially in the U.S.? I don't even find leg hair unattractive in other women. Shaving legs also takes a lot of time and energy which most men simply aren't expected to put in, which means there is a mild opportunity cost involved here, in that a guy can use that time and energy for something else. Of course makeup is the same story.
    I don't expect other women to do any of this stuff, and yet I nonetheless feel uncomfortable not doing it myself, because on occasions when I don't pass, people sometimes misgender me or will make rude comments, and I tend to get dysphoria in those situations, not because people questioned my femininity, but because they sometimes clearly question my humanity and/or my sanity in the process of questioning my womanhood, and that is a difficult, strange and disorienting experience, which feels threatening, in that it suggests the people questioning my humanity or sanity will also no doubt question or oppose my access to transition related care, or the access of other trans people who they were reminded existed and whose identities they started to doubt after they clocked me. It's as if they are saying that if you pass you are sane and human, even if we know you are trans, but if you don't pass then you must be insane, "confused" or inhuman, and whether we will accept trans people as full members of society or not depends on whether we see more passable trans women or more non-passing trans women. The more trans women who pass, they seem to believe, the more legitimate our identities are, and the fewer of us who pass, the less legitimate they will treat our identities. In effect, our gender expression gets policed much more carefully and strictly than the presentation of cis women. A cis woman can be a tomboy and no one will question her being a woman, but it's as if some in society have a hard time conceptualizing the possibility of a trans woman who is a tomboy. There is a different and more narrow standard in play for what kind of woman it is acceptable or "possible" for a trans woman to be. Likewise, if we can't or if we refuse to embody this entirely arbitrary and strangely narrower standard of acceptable womanhood, we risk being excluded to a degree that cis women doing the same thing or presenting in the same way would not be.
    I think these kinds of passing videos and their importance in trans culture are comparable to the famous Negro Motorist Green-Book that black Americans used to use to pragmatically navigate the landscape of discrimination, prejudice and danger arising from segregation and the particular forms of racism associated with it. Victor Hugo Green founded and published the Green Book "to give the Negro traveler information that will keep him from running into difficulties, embarrassments and to make his trip more enjoyable." as he very diplomatically put it. As valuable and positive as the Green Book was, and as these passing tips videos and others like them are too, I think its important as well to understand what is happening and what we are doing, and we should look forward to a day in the future when such passing videos will no longer be needed in the way that they are now. I feel most comfortable presenting very femininely in most ways, but ultimately that should be my choice and my free self-expression, not an attempt to navigate some cis people's incredibly intense, strange and arbitrary double standards and apparent paranoia about whether we are feminine enough for them to be comfortable with our existence. We deserve the same freedom to not concern ourselves about passing which cis people have.

    Electrolosis is the better option with any color facial hair. I don't use much makeup anymore, The eyes are very important in passing as a female. Eyeliner, Eye brows and not much of eye shadow. Ilove to dress in short dress and skirts with blouse, closed toe shoes and a great pair of dark or nude panthose. I love the attention it bring me. Men speak more with me and women hang around me more often than when walking as male. Self confidence, self worth and high esteem for your self are key to success. Learn to act feminine and walk femininely.

    BO. Mathilda probably has not told, but after the surgery you can have super sensitive urethra and get one million infections and you might be dripping pee all throughout the day like a coffee maker and then you have to wear thick diapers who promise to remove all smell, but that is a failure of advertising if anything. Do you happen to know that we are closely related to mammals that smell each other's pee, so mammal pee has a strong odor and it is damn hard to remove. It also takes ages before your plumbing heals. Just saying.

    I want to look like a bad bitch, but i really feel like that on inside. I don’t really mind everyone looking. transitioned like 5 months ago. Sure some people are hateful but there’s always a few people everywhere I go that will worship me. But to be fair used to be a big drug dealer and been shot at and had to fight for my life, like I’m confident if someone fucks with me now they’ll get their ass whooped by a trans girly
    I like my nails, eye lashes, dramatic eye makeup, red lipstick with sparkly lip gloss, sexy outfits and my lace front wigs way to much
    Does look surprisingly passing just a tall bitch 6’3 with my 4’’ heals only thing that throws it off is still have muscles bigger than the average dude even though I stopped lifting 1.5 years ago ( kinda the only thing that I am self conscious of now) but was a ball of anxiety and dysphoria prior to transitioning and like first month of going out as a girl. Like the worst was first time I went shopping for girl clothes and had make up on and I knew I wasn’t passing at all never felt anxiety like that before and every single person everywhere I went starred at me. I went to the girls bathroom and when I was walking out a old woman looked at me with such hate. However, one person complimented me and that was all it took for me to start having fun. When you just act like however you want to, it inspires others. Like almost decided to do less or whatever but I talked to one of my friends and they told me “ you really made me feel like i could be myself , by you truly being yourself you gave me courage to stop trying to be something I’m not” and like they really did it, you could tell they were truly more of a genuine version of themselves. That happened a few more times and really gave me the strength to keep being the most authentic version of myself. Maybe if we all just do ourselves and not worry about others we can inspire the world to be more genuine

      This is not what women are. Women are whatever they wish. Masculine, feminine, neither. All women are different, and unique.
      This video is for trans women having a hard time passing, and I’m just giving them a few tips in how to do that.
      This video is not called “act like a woman” or “this is how women are”. Because it’s not. We’re all different and I think that’s pretty self explanatory.

    Please don't use the term cis.
    Transgender, non-binary and associated, use the term, regular people do not.
    So using the term, maybe not the best way to pass.
    We want transgender people to be more accepted in society,
    Cis-men or cis-women are not regular men and women's preferred pronounce.
    Throwing a wrench in the gear, by transgender people using a pronounce (Cis-..), that is not the targeted group (regular people's) preferred pronounce.
    I fail to see, how that's going to help, make things better.
    Live well and prosper!

    I cannot believe that life has come to this point of sexuality ruling people's lives to the point of fully changing a person's body I genuinely can not wait for this world to be destroyed. I'm so sad to say for everyone that this is a world we're apart of. That we have failed life as it is that we have nothing to give furthermore and we are weak pathetic excuses for human life

    • @PeteNoir
      @PeteNoir 2 года назад +5

      Who said anything about sexuality? Perhaps you meant gender. Anyway, why would you not want someone to become more comfortable in their body and appearance? Surely happier people is a good thing. There are so many terrible things in the world, war, starvation, hunger, abuse... yet you go out of your way to leave a nasty comment on a video like this, which is intended to be something positive. You are the problem, and the one that has failed life, since you are clearly against people finding contentment. Something which doesn't even affect you.
