@@danreytorres7940 this guitar is under $200... that's the whole lineup is full of decent guitars, I dont think any of them get expensive at all, maybe up to 600? Really cheap considering the gibson es 137 and fender Corona California strat in my closet were $2500 and $1500.
I don't play a guitar and I still love your channel! I like the way you show these up and coming manufacturers and how you don't need real money to start their passion. Thank you
Cool. I've ordered from Thomann 3 times now, and I haven't been disappointed. Their $100 guitars are about on the level of Affinities, but their $200-$300 guitars are on the level of Classic Vibes/Vintage Modified or mid-priced Epiphones. A couple of suggestion for future reviews: the HB JA-60SB is a $120 take on a Jaguar/Jazzmaster with P90s and the SC-450 P90 GT, which is a Gold Top Les Paul with P90s.
Definitely egronomic. I just love it when guitar manufacturer's have the sense to place the volume knob just below the bridge pickup making for effortless volume swells on the fly. So many top brands are ignoring this simple option to their fan base.
Great review. I bought this guitar based on your review, got it two days ago. It is an incredible bargain. Came out of the box fairly well set up, just need to tune it and adjust intonation on a couple of strings. Neck curvature was good, set with a fairly low action, didn't touch that. I went over the finish with a flashlight, (yes I'm obsessive-compulsive,) couldn't find a finish flaw anywhere. I know some people have purchased HB guitars and complained about oxidation/corrosion on the pickups, probably from sitting in a warehouse. Mine had none. The fretboard was Pau Ferro, not African Blackwood, very nice look and feel to it. As you said, the tuners were a bit stiff, but are holding tune perfectly. It came with D'Addario strings, again clean with no corrosion. I've put in several hours on it now, stays well in tune even with hard string bends. Fretwork was excellent, appear to be medium-jumbo frets, checked the level and didn't need to do any fret leveling, fret ends were also smooth as glass. The pickups are great, kind of hot. Even my wife (a harp player) commented about the clarity and attack with the pickups. Back down the tone a little and they sound great for jazz (my main interest). I also own a Harley Benton HB 35 PLUS semi-hollowbody, another incredible bargain. At $162 including shipping, this guitar is worth every penny. NOTE: Regarding shipping, I received several emails regarding shipping from Thomann, they had it shipped quickly by DHL. I followed it on line, it got through customs very quickly, then DHL left it sitting in the warehouse for 6 days. When I checked with USPS, who was the carrier for delivery, they had it logged in and did an excellent job getting it here. The day it was delivered, DHL documentation still said it was in the warehouse in Chicago. This is consistent with my other Thomann purchases. Thomann great, USPS great, DHL not so much, just saying.
Holy crap balls. That is a gorgeous guitar and it sounds fantastic. Then again, you could make my shoelaces sound fantastic. I love all these videos surfacing now about very affordable decent guitars. It makes playing so accessible to so many more people. Well done!
Absolutely one of the best reviews of any guitar I have seen. The descriptions were right on backed up with some killer playing. I enjoyed this. I'm looking to buy my first guitar and this quite possibly is the one. Great Job!!!
@@GuitarMAXMusic enjoying your chanel as well 👍 Harley Benton certainly makes one question if they are grossly overpaying for big name brand guitars. HB looks amazing. How is it holding up after 4 years of playing? I have mine just over a year and still feels new. Not much fret wear and the switches/electrics etc are all going strong.
You can ship up to 3 guitars for that $33 shipping ... Makes shopping for guitars even more fun ... When it comes to Harley Benton, i have mixed experience. Have to say that the cheapest Bentons i've bought for my kids were the best, while the higher priced Harley Bentons i've bought were not so good. The good ones: - Harley Benton ST-20 HSS ( $72 had to return the first one because the finish was messed ) - Harley Benton SC-400 SBK ( $108 ) The "looks very good, plays and feels accceptable but not great" ones: - Harley Benton CST-24HB ( $200 ) - Harley Benton CST-24T ( $200 ) The bad ones: - Harley Benton RB-600BP Classic Series (not available anymore, returned it twice, got refunded, first messed up finish, second one had messed up finish and bridge)
I'm really diggin Harley Benton stuff right now. Everyone seems to be impressed. I've decided to buy one of their kits, and make something unique to my tastes. If the kits are as good as the production guitars, it should make for a quality build. Thanks Max for doing what you do. 🤘
I bought one on the strength of this review and it is, hands down, the winner of all the "cheap" guitars I' ve owned. It played well out of the box and looked really great as well. Then we plugged it into a Marshall half stack and those humbuckers gave out that woo-woo woman tone in the upper register immediately. I could not be more impressed and considering the total price of $165, am flabergasted (guitar $135, shipping $30) Considering I've blown that kind of money on ???, it's a crime not to get one. Interesting web site and lotsa options for other models, but this is the king. My Chibson Les Paul ($225) is pretty, but a forgery. This stands on it's own. Get one.
First off, great vids. I'm a drummer but want to play guitar and your videos have been a huge help, so thank you for all your knowledge. This guitar is BEAUTIFUL. I've ordered from Thomann, they have excellent stuff at ridiculously great prices, even with $35 shipping. Cant beat 'em.
Ordered this guitar and others, some not available until mid March; worth the wait. Stuck between the te 40 and the te 70. Glad to see Max demo it as his reviews are top notch. El Gato enjoying the music 😁. Thanks Max!
I picked up two HB's in the past month. The CST-24 PRS clone and an SC-Custom LP clone. Both are superb. Impossible to beat the value of these instruments.
That looks great!!!.....under $200 !!!!.....I like the HH configuration!!!....your doing a great service to all the Musicians who are on a type budget!!!.....great vid Max!!!!
I just bought this guitar on a whim. I have Gibsons, Prs, Musicman, Kiesel and many other high end guitars in my collection as well. This guitar is amazing in terms of build quality and sound. I can't believe Harley Benton can sell a guitar sub $200 that looks and plays like a $1,000 product. If you have an opportunity to but one get it. Everything screams quality.

This is exactly what i was looking for. A budget rocker. Was looking to build something similiar, but i just ordered one. Thanks Max for the awesome review.
I just got a Harley Benton TE-20 Standard in Blue. Last weekend I replaced the tuners with Hipshot Locking tuners and thanks to the mounting plates, it was basically a drop-in solution. And yes, it’s great and was already great with the stock tuners. But I absolutely love that guitar.
Guitar MAX … I recently found your Y-Tubes and have enjoyed them because of the education provided… but for some reason “This” particular vid and Harley Benton has sold me on the idea of trying. I’m turning 71 shortly. Have never played guitar but have always wished I had learned long ago. Now I think I am going to buy this guitar. I may not be the first to say this, but I suspect Harley Benton will be shipping more than a boat-load for these. Thanks to you. They should give you a commission.
I own 7 Harley Benton guitars, all arrived with perfect fret job, straight neck, intonated and string height set...and great nut. I love them all but if you need customer assistance they offer incredible backup. Beware, they will ship up to 3 guitars for between $34-$34 but I've heard a total pain in the ass to return and very expensive. As I said, I've had wonderful luck with the solid body electrics and their acoustic-electric guitars...I love Thomann Music!
I've lucked out with my two HB's also. Came perfect. Even tuned up ... meaning it come some love before it left. But we've been lucky. I've heard some people say their instruments came less than desired and had issues with return. I still plan to order a few more. :)
I've got 4 and two of mine arrived with high frets here and there and the nut slots were cut horribly. Both issues were easy to fix, and I still think they're a great deal, but I haven't had uniform results with their guitars.
The choice available these days is simply incredible. At this price, if you buy it and don’t like it, it’s not exactly the end of the world. Just amazing what you can have for so little outlay these days. I know we always have one guitar less than we actually need but I could easily develop a hoarding disease with these things..l.

Used to own one of these, an earlier edition, with the rosewood fretboard and Wilkinson's alnico-5. Some new tuners, a litrle fretwork and it was a dream. Sorry to have sold it, wish I could get it back.
Wow, such a beautiful guitar at a phenomenal price! Great video Maxx! Keep up the good work, we all love them. You r a great guitar player by the way!!!
I have bought Harley Benton: 2 RB guitars,(one 6 and one 12 string) one Ovation style, one Swamp ash Strat style, two PRS custom carve style, two GS mini style guitars and one SG white custom style guitars. I love Harley Bentons. All have been professionally set up, some modded with tuners and pickups. Unreal arsenal of killer guitars! Don’t get me wrong, I have two Gibson Les Pauls, a Japanese 1980’s Ibanez, a Taylor GS Mini, and an Epiphone Hummingbird, and a beautiful Seagull acoustic in burnt umber! Try to buy a Fender Swamp ash strat now. I need a HB Tele style.
I was absolutely unaware of all these lesser priced guitars. I wish I had known 5 or 6 guitars ago. Just have to move forward from here I suppose. Thanks for passing on all this information.
Have 2 problem with both is the strings come into contact with the bridge. The bridge on both is as low as it will go which is where it needs to be for the correct clearance. Put 6 mm spacers under the eyelets to raise the strings away from bridge. Keeping both of them. Beautiful looking guitars with their own sound.
Excellent, G.MAX. As a 12to6 guitarist I always trust you. And when you say a good sound is here, I'll scarf it up, no questions asked. As a violinist my whole life (age 4) I always go with the experts. And you are one exceptional guitarist. Between you and Darrel Braun my whole family has guitars. Although my oldest brother is a Gibson prick who won't part with his gold top for any inheritance.
I love your review videos and I’ve just subscribed because I like that you’re fair and just and honest in the comments you make about the products you review. Also you’re not one of those “guitar price snobs” that because they have paid thousands for other guitars that they won’t consider or even imagine that reasonably or cheaply priced ones can possibly be any good. I have paid thousands of pounds on one guitar but since I discovered the quality of Harley Benton guitars I wouldn’t dream of doing it again. Thanks for your honest reviews and your clear acceptance that good guitars don’t necessarily have to cost thousands.
Great review Max. My 13 year old grandson started playing 7 months ago, he now has 5 guitars, including a Epiphone Les Paul Special, a Squire Affinity Strat, a Oscar Schmidt OE-30 (ES-335) and a Harley Benton DC-580 (SC). He is saving for a real Gibson Les Paul Studio and then next on his list after that is a Tele. I guess you can say he has been bitten by the guitar bug. I also have a left handed Harley Benton SC-Custom. We both love Harley Benton's great quality and reasonable prices. Keep up the good work, we both enjoy your playing.
Thank you so much, man. I have been searching for the perfect T style guitar for reasonable money for a while, now. You just hooked me up perfectly. I already own 2 HB guitars and can attest to the quality. Keep delivering the great infovids. We love you for that.
man your cat just loves your playing. I really love the sound and looks of that guitar. so cheap and not a bad product. great video brother, as always. have a great week man.
Thank you for that review of the Harley Benton . Just ordered one to add to my collection. Great demo! You're an awesome guitarist! Take care thanks again!
Yeah, it's great, mine is close by right now. It wants to see what a newer model looks like. I'm not letting it near the screen! Thanks for all the great reviews. I bought quite a bit of gear from Thomann. They are great to work with and I feel like I got amazing deals every time! Thanks for all the great reviews!
Very nice playing in this! I was really hoping for a change from the usual pentatonic scales. I like this style of playing much better for properly judging the guitar's sound. Even two years later: Thanks for this great review :) P.S. Gorgeous looking thumbnail too by the way.
It's up to four guitars, I have done it. I also had a lot of accessories in the shipment. 4 guitars, stands, gig bags, straps and leads. Shipping to Texas was 32$.
Hey Max, I just want to mention that it's not an arch top, its a carved top. Arch top refers to acoustic and semi electric guitars. Otherwise great job again we love these videos
I love these budgets guitar videos! It’s awesome I never heard of the Harley Benton until I’ve seen your reviews of them and I’m considering getting one super awesome!
Mine finally came in and it is really nice, but the tuners suck they look like they are pulling out of the socket, but do work. I think a nice roller saddle wouldn't hurt and a set-up is a must to get the most out of this guitar. I'm very pleased with this guitar and it feels great in my hands. Thanks, Max
Hey Max" how are we supposed to be able to tell if a guitar is really good or not if everything you pick up you can make sound kickass ! 🤟 Great reviews man !!
This is a beauty. $34 to ship three guitars from Germany is a steal. I'm going order the Extreme 84 when it becomes available in 4-5 weeks. Thinking of which others I want. For the price of a single Epiphone Les Paul, I can get three HB's. Thanks for the videos. These are great !!!
I’m new to your channel and the first video I watch you’ve sold me on this Guitar. I’ve been wanting a Tele for a while now but I just can’t afford an actual Fender Telecaster at the moment but I’ve been seeing a lot of great things from Harley Benton lately so I think this will do just fine for now.
been watching your videos for a while now. I must say, I respect the hell out of you dude. Your informative, calm and collect and play you mean guitar. I subbed and look forward to many more videos. Cheers
Bravo - ordered one for my birthday, but they are back ordered at this point. Late January delivery - can't wait. Regardless, great presentation and playing skills, not to mention fund of knowledge. Plus - you stole my hair . . . and I want it back. Cheers. ; - )
I've been waiting for an opportunity to buy 2 guitars from Firefly (Guitars Garden) and I have emailed them a few times and received Zero replies. I have seen Harley Benton's website and they are willing to bend over backwards to serve their Customers... I just Switched to Harley Benton ! I'm ordering a Harley Benton HB-35 BK Vintage Series for $153.00 and one of these Harley Benton TE-40 TBK Deluxe Series for $126.00... Friggin Gorgeous ! I used your link for my purchase Max ! You Rock !
It’s a beautiful guitar! I’d like to see a Tele-Style guitar with the toggle switch located at the top curve, more like a LesPaul. That would make it less awkward trying to create that kill-switch effect like Ace Frehley! I saw a pic of Mick Mars with one of his Girls era Kramers which was built like that!
HB has consistently set the standard for awesome quality, and style at prices which have to make every other builder cut into their own profits having to keep a huge stockpile of Depends on hand!! Jack - Canada
I would just like to clarify that the fingerboard in NOT African Blackwood, this is a VERY expensive and exotic wood, used in the manufacture of high end bagpipes. It states on the Thomann site that the fingerboard however, is blackwood. This is an engineered wood made from New Zealand pine (pinus radiata) which is treated with a resin and heat treated to harden it. It is an alternative to rosewood which can no longer be shipped due to CITIES regulation. There are mixed reviews of this online, but I see it as a good thing. Renewable and enginered alternatives are the future of the guitar manufacturing industry. I hope this helps.
That guitar i s quite good. I once had one of them. I ordered it, check it and there's nothing wrong in it. I just ordered it to giveaway for to our small rockfest in my home village as lottery price (1€ a lot). May be I order one to myself.
I am waiting for my Harley Benton TE-20HH to be delivered. I have an SG and a PRS yet I am more excited by this guitar. We better buy them before some famous player gets recruited and the prices rise!

One of your best I've heard so far. And good playing too, Danzig!
Thanks! But tell your mother that you just lost 5 points!!
I was absolutely unaware of all these lesser priced guitars. I wish I had known 5 or 6 guitars ago. Just have to move forward from here I suppose. Thanks for passing on all this information.
5-6 years ago they were reasonably decent, but these brands have only gotten better over time, so now is a great time to be discovering them!
That is a super cool take on a Tele, love the dual humbuckers and the bridge.
And it looks amazing to boot!
Bought mine a few days ago, really excited to have this guitar on my hands!
Thank you for the review!
Appreciate you turning us on to these. Playing is inspiring. Seems too good to be true. Thanks much.
Always like to hear from another lefty 👍 that's a nice collection your grandson has 🎸🎸🎸
Thank you so much, man. I have been searching for the perfect T style guitar for reasonable money for a while, now. You just hooked me up perfectly. I already own 2 HB guitars and can attest to the quality. Keep delivering the great infovids. We love you for that.
I am not in a band anymore, i purchased a Fender Squier upgraded the keys, for playing around the house, good bang for the buck.
That neck pickup is freaking fantastic
Watched your video on the 750T. Bought one. Very happy with it. Great action, sounds nice. AIO setup was very good. Case fits well. Good job
Nice 👍
man your cat just loves your playing.
Even two years later: Thanks for this great review :)
Otherwise great job again we love these videos
i think he got confused with ash top. max is too metal to know about arch tops.
At 8:40 he is talking about the color, he said ash top.
It is even written in the guitar link:
Top: Ash

Wow, what a beautiful guitar. Thanks for this review and I want to see more Harley Benton guitars on your channel.
Thanks, Max
I would have a floyd rose bridge on that...thanks Max, love all your vids
That would be cool!
I bought this guitar for my dad and it is very nice!
I love how you review things without a taint of high brow elitism..!!! Good is good regardless of price forget elitism..!!! Good job mad props...🙏
Holy freakin sh**! Amazing guitar for $170. Heading over to their site to check out their lineup. Great demo vid!
I've got the Extreme 76 and I have a friend who has the Extreme 84 and they both seem great!
@@GuitarMAXMusic I loved your review of the 76. I'm going with the 84 for the mahogany body and active pups. Totally amazing deal.
Did you end up getting it? How did it turn out?
been watching your videos for a while now. I must say, I respect the hell out of you dude. Your informative, calm and collect and play you mean guitar. I subbed and look forward to many more videos. Cheers
Max, thanks so much... I have ordered it!
WHAAT! Under 200 US. That is amazing. Need more wall space to hang all the gear you have reviewed. Keep up the great videos Max.
The first T-style I see with a bevel in the cutout for higher fret access I will buy. I've even thought about modding a kit to do it.
I got the TE-90Q , P90 pickups ,thin body semi hollow. Rocks with Hot Wax dual overdrive (EHX). Love it!
AWESOME!!! Love your channel Guitar Max!!!
Dude, I really like all the random guitars you find that look excellent for what they are. Subscribed!
Hot damn Harley Benton is KILLING it with affordable guitars, they look and sound great. You cant beat that price for what you'r getting.
Wolf makes a gorgeous neck through Tele ,and Strat
Yeah! I have one of their Teles and it's amazing!
The cream(?) binding, and the gold screws for the pickup rings sets it apart. I love a traditional tele. But this looks like deluxe black beauty.
Cat was kick back then 6:08 happened. "Whoa, what happened, I'm up."
You Rock !
Gibson Explorer 1970's 👍🎸😎awesome sound of each guitar you play no matter what
Fantastic as always brother! I've been holding off on buying a tele for the longest time and this looks like it might be the one.
Check out the Fender Ja 90. It's pretty much a les paul/tele hybrid. I have one and also the one in this video. Both are great.
I ordered one. I plan to put some 4 wire pickups in it and push pull pots to coil split.
HB has consistently set the standard for awesome quality, and style at prices which have to make every other builder cut into their own profits having to keep a huge stockpile of Depends on hand!!
Jack - Canada
Harley Benton will take over the world if they carry on.
The arrangement of the string Ferrules is the clincher for me on what a subtly well made instrumental is
Mine arrives here around the 1st week of December . Great review thank you good sir.
I was waiting for you to say 300-400 bucks.. dang that thing is cheap! beautiful too!
Wow great guitar and amazing playing. Wish my fingers would move that fast.
Thanks for sharing bro! I've been eying this guitar for some months. 😉👍
Wow!! Great sound. Great price. Where were these when I first started playing? Thanks Max!!
That guitar i s quite good. I once had one of them. I ordered it, check it and there's nothing wrong in it. I just ordered it to giveaway for to our small rockfest in my home village as lottery price (1€ a lot). May be I order one to myself.
Wow, it looks like Harley Benton is stepping up its game, as that is one luscious-looking Tele style guitar!
Can't beat HB'S. love the four I have.
The review that ive been waiting for.
I should be receiving this one any day now. This is my third Harley Benton good guitars and I have some of the best Name Brand ones.
I am waiting for my Harley Benton TE-20HH to be delivered.
I have an SG and a PRS yet I am more excited by this guitar.
We better buy them before some famous player gets recruited and the prices rise!
