    Hi, is the diesel consumption affetced/improved with the dyno tune?

    • @UltimateDieselTuning
      @UltimateDieselTuning  2 года назад +3

      With the extra power & torque that we will achieve with a custom dyno tune, you will not have to apply the throttle as much anymore in order to get your vehicle to move as much as you did prior to the tune. It will be able to be driven with less throttle & less RPM in the driving cycle to achieve the same result (because torque will be now produced earlier in the RPM range due to the tune).
      So, for example, you may have been driving it at 100% throttle pressure (foot to the floor) to get it to go up hill properly when towing, but now (after we've tuned it) you will only need 50% throttle pressure to get up the hill - and the vehicle should also stay in the higher gear too instead of kicking down. Therefore, the less pressure on the throttle; the longer it'll stay in a higher gear & the less the engine will now rev; therefore less fuel will be injected into the engine & consumed to achieve the same result of getting up the hill, prior to the tune.
      Less engine revs due to the extra power from the tune (higher gear, less effort to tow a caravan etc.), uses less fuel. This also happens without towing too, same thing.

    • @UltimateDieselTuning
      @UltimateDieselTuning  3 года назад

      @@andylucy4256 So, upgrading the intercooler will reduce the inlet temperatures, so will cause cooler air to enter the engine that's therefore also denser. This results in a leaner combustion event, allowing us to add more fuel via the tune to take advantage of the extra oxygen in the cylinders, which has the net result of providing more consistent & sustainable power & torque with the same resultant AFR mixture. The larger surface area of the bigger intercooler will also help counteract decreases in performance on higher temperature days. Sometimes they will increase power & torque, but it depends on what the car is used for & how we tune it.
      And upgraded intercooler is great for providing extra efficiency to the engine, especially when the engine is under load when towing.

    What is your warranty period for a tune. What happens if the engine poops itself in 4 years time because it's power has been increased and prematurely wore out components. Surely its pretty easy for Mitsubishi to say exactly that. Have you had warranty claims? What happened?

    • @UltimateDieselTuning
      @UltimateDieselTuning  Год назад

      that can & does happen with standard vehicles too. If something is going to happen with our tuning, it will happen literally straight away. Out of the ten thousand or more vehicles that we have custom dyno tuned, this has happened to a small handful (a dozen at the most) & if it was deemed to be our fault, then we have covered it in the past.

  • @flyboysnugs
    @flyboysnugs Год назад

    Is this in anyway more dangerous for the vehicle? Why wouldn't they just tune it from factory like this if it wasn't? Does a tuned engine require servicing more often also please? Been watching a load of your videos and it seems like the route I would like to go on my Triton, but just query if it would decrease reliability over the long run

    • @UltimateDieselTuning
      @UltimateDieselTuning  Год назад

      No not at all. We improve on the factory tune as the factory tune is generic, whereas we full-on custom tune the factory ECU to suit what the vehicle is used for, how much extra weight it has onboard and what the customer's requests for the tune are. We still tune within the engine's safety parameters, which are set by the manufacturer.
