now i understand the complication of this book. its hard to tell apart when a human loves "it" or loves perscon as if its a real person. the difficulty of being loved and not as a useful/fun pc. very much like how human loves pets as pets not as real person.
Freya did have to disappear for the sake of the family and the respect that Ms. Hibiya deserved. Freya fell in love with the person whom was intended to be her own father. How would you feel if you were a woman and your husband chose your own daughter after marriage, human or not? Very cold story for a cartoon.
It took me a while to realize that when the author said "It", he/she was referring to persocoms. Persocoms were machines designend to look and behave like humans (mainly women), but they couldn't actually be humans. The character in the book (Chi) wants meet a person who will love her for who she is and not see her as just a machine.
We are getting there. It is more fun to be with "IT" now days then interacting with others; not so much that it is universal, but we are getting there.
Yea more and more people are focusing “on themselves”, on mean less goals, porn, etc. like this book in Chobits says, they’re living in a dream. Bible says all we get to take up to heaven is other saved people so in the end all that stuff doesn’t matter. Hope I’ll find someone I can marry someday lol

The title of the book is clearly "the town with no people." Empty is a different word and it's NOT in the Japanese title. I give that "translation" an F. #Fail

Freya had to disappear, because she wasn't loved back and Chii stayed for there was Hideaki to love her. Cruel as hell.

back to the time when anime had a soul
Do not know how many times I've watched this sequence, and every time it's so emotional...

True. I feel it's an even deeper concept, though. People are treated like persocoms too.
Can't believe after 20 years, I didn't know that Chii VA is none other than the sowaka sowaka herself, Rie Tanaka.

I'm still kind of hoping we'll get persocoms one day. 😂

This story haunts me ever since I first saw the anime. Like I've yet to understand the meaning of it.
It's mostly about the relationship between people and Persocoms (the robots) and how Chii (the rabbit) is different from other Persocoms.
As an asexual, this really resonated with me. Especially the part in the anime where Chi says "the one just for me".
why oh why isn't this song in the soundtrack?????
sad
Very cold story for a cartoon. Almost as though this had happened before
it doesnt much diffrent in your world :( to have someone
Omg ...😭
Does anybody knows the names of these songs?
I did try this in its OST but i couldn't found this
The background music? Dareni mo inai machi

Remind me which translation agency or business you work for, so I don't accidentally book services with you.
Yeah ok but in the end it means the same thing right ? so...
@@eva2004 no. empty -- no one in there. town with no people -- town with no ACTUAL people, only "IT".
You can correct mistakes without being condescending.
They meant empty as in feeling empty it's not a mistake though you may not agree with the choice.
