I have an M-Audio Oxygen 88 and suddenly kontakt stopped sustaining some instruments when pressing the sustain pedal attached to it. Worked perfectly when sustaining notes played using the on screen keyboard. Tried EVERYTHING without results until reaching your video. Returned the M-Audio to factory settings and its solved. Thans A LOT.

You are a genius! For some reason, my midi controller keyboard workedwith some of my samplers, but not with Kontakt. It wasn't until I did a factory reset that it worked again! Thank you!

Friend, THIS solved my issues! Had just downloaded the free stuff and was very disappointed when only a few patches worked. Went thru all the troubleshooting with no luck. Reset my kb and it worked! Thanks!
I cannot believe this worked. I was just shaking my head yes the whole time and I even have an M Audio controller so I didn’t even have to look up the reset. I just did what you did.. unbelievable.. truly unbelievable!

This gave me a clue!! I'm using the Akai APC Key 25 and was going nuts because my Kontakt Player was recognizing my regular keys just fine, but none of my knobs. I searched for instructions for factory reset and found nothing, so instead I messed around with the shift key. Lo and behold, if you hold Shift and hit the Device button on the APC Key 25, it switches the knobs to control the Kontakt Player plugin. THEN you can tell Kontakt to learn the MIDI CC automations from there. Bingo!

OMG!!! here I am jacking around with setting for hours...but no...the demo model I just bought just need factory reset! thank you for this!
Always like running into someone who demonstrates precisely, how their mind is like my own. I've been having trouble with a brand new Komplete Kontrol install (I have both a Novation LaunchKey 61 and a Native Instruments KK s88)... Komplete Kontrol driver or software on my computer is not sending the screens and display interface to the KK keyboard like it should. The ONE thing I haven't tried is a factory reset - I will certainly attempt when I get home. Good to be here, and thanks for this!

I have an M-Audio MIDI board and I had to do the factory reset too. Geez - wouldn't have thought of that. Thanks, you saved me additional frustration.

So, per Sweetwater, the factory reset for my M-Audio Keystation 49es was to power OFF, hold down Advanced plus Octave + plus Octave -, then power ON and release the 3 buttons. this ALMOST worked, meaning it didn't work at all until I then powered OFF & powered ON, at which point it worked. Thank you for the good advice, I am new to all of this tech, it could have been quite frustrating otherwise.

Thank you man! I had the same issue, no sound. I have a small Audient audio interface. I always use ASIO drivers and I got no sound for Kontakt but did for any other standalone app. What I just did to fix that was choose WASAPI (no matter if it's shared or exclusive mode) drivers and boom! got sound. I have no idea why Kontakt doesn't like my ASIO drivers but it's ok, it works now! So happy now, thanks bro!

Thanks Dave! Working with VEPro 7 and Kontakt instrument -where keyboard not registering using Evolution Guitar VST -It wasnt obvious, but the Evo Gtr VST defaults to snapshot view (I.e. Snarly Distortion) -FIX: Once I clicked the "i" for I guess Information the Midi Channel was set to 1 by default I guess for Kontakt -When I changed that to correct Midi Channel -It Started Working!!! Thanks for the help!!

I feel like a (sometimes baffled playing kool) producer! I'm self taught and the vocab may have escaped me but I learned what to do. I did pretty much all those steps on my Novation Launchkey 25 mk1. (Yeah, I know!). Got mine to work by opening another group and inserting a plugin. (Which worked on the first try.) But its great to know that I'm following the "right" steps ! Thanks!

got me on the right train of thought. a reset wouldve probs worked for me too but i remember i hit the advanced button on my keyboard the other day and i saw the ch1 above the keys. sure enough i mustve been on the wrong channel. just had to press that advance button again and set it to ch1 by pressing corresponding key

Fortunately reseting my keybord wasn't my case. But you are a genius, i would keep that in mind for further, i hope not, trouble. Finding my controller on standalone mode really worked out. Thanks for sharing wisdom.

Thank you for sharing Dave. You helped solve this problem that the boneheads at Native instruments should not be laying on us all in the first place.
Honestly we should not be having to go through all of this time waste. I was having communication problems from my Impact LX49 keyboard to Native Strummed acoustic. Have wasted an entire afternoon pissing around with this when all I wanted to do was work on a recording.
In my case I had to shut down the DAW and open Kontakt in standalone mode to be able to get to the settings. There I found that both the MIDI and Audio were not set up at all. An app like Kontakt should recognise anything that is connected and assign the correct ASIO driver and Midi controllers for the hardware that is connected.
Native instruments need to get their act together and stop wasting everyone's time with their BS setup routines that you can only seem to find by searching the web. Outrageous. How ridiculous is it that you can't find the midi and other settings if you open Kontakt in your DAW. The settings should be available regardless of whether you open Kontakt in your DAW or in standalone mode.
