The 991.1 and the 991.2 are something that shouldn't be forgotten. You can get these for nearly what the MSRP was. NO dealer lock out or markup. All those who didn't drive them I say thank you. Now someone can enjoy the cars you saved.
If I remember it correctly the tradition of using s sticker badge comes from the GT2 RS that had a carbon hood, it is as much a nod to the past as it is a weight saving exercise.
Seen 2 yesterday on the road in my country ( Belgium ) A white one and Black, the drivers pushed the pedal gotta admit, sickest porsche I've ever heard.. props to Porsche
+TomásProRider You have clearly never driven one before. I have a 996 GT3 and the handling, sound, everything is perfect. Ferrari is mostly a car for douchebags and posers although i agree they are also very fast. Most of us Porsche drivers are in clubs and some of us even have track RSR's. And oh yeah, the Porsche engineers put the engine in the right place. I prefer RERWD over FERWD. Cheers!
+TomásProRider Wake up mr ProRider. I am a bmw-man myself, but Porsche has it. Both quality - not like a Ferrari where something suddenly comes off, like a Button or likewise - and performance. So 50/50 is not everything, although Ferrari makes great cars
Thats cool, nice to get a real comment back, in a friendly tone. Respect. I am going for a BMW M2 btw, the cars we are talking about here is out of my league. Take care
+Kaspars Olehno Haha, if it was all for profit they would probably make 1,000 more GT3 RS' and sell them to people like me! Porsche work in mysterious ways...
+m yz Yeah it doesn't save that much money, but you have to agree that it's just a marketing gimmick on Porsche's part. It's just two small badges, which don't add a considerable advantage to weight reduction.
J. Martinni You think whatever you want. But take the GT3 for example. It only has 2 badges, the Porsche emblem in the front and naming on the back. Combined those 2 badges would not have weighed even close to 1/10th of a kilo. If you wanna believe that a mere number of grams is gonna make huge improvement in a car which already has a huge amount of downforce and good aerodynamics, then by all means be my guest. The Clubsport package comes with the roll cage inside, which adds far more weight than two tiny badges would. Same goes for McLaren. It's not a freakin Formula 1 car in which case it would be plastered by all kinds of different markings. Omitting badges for a sticker would make more sense in that case.
+kerk tp In my opinion LFA has the best sounding exhaust ever. And now I know GT3 RS has the best sounding exhaust among 6 cylinder engines. Both being 9k revver should mean a lot here.
Sam Lotfi Well some of the V10s sound A LOT poorer than this. Especially if you like high revver, racing engine feel it sounds like a thing from heaven, just like LFA.
Why would anyone not tick Clubsport box on an RS, sort of forgot to mention it's based on turbo chassis unlike GT3 which is on the carrera chassis which is first time ever ( usually this would be the GT2 which has been canned) The pit limiter is awesome too, you should have tried that. ironically the clubsport pack comes with folding seats
Only minus for me is the PDK. Look, I know it performs better,it is more technologically sound and will produce better times around a track; but I don't care about that when I am by myself on an open road. It makes sense for traffic and daily driving but the overall experience is diminished.I wish they would keep the traditional stick as an option for us old schoolers.
Hey Shmee, going through some of your old videos and dreaming of have my own gt3 or gt3 rs one day. If you happen to read this...would you prefer to own a gt3 rs as standard out of the factory, or send it to Its White Noise for tuning? I recall you driving a black an IWN gt3 rs in Cali and loving it.
Schmee I'm surprised that you don't own a standard GT3. All the positives from this car without the negatives you mentioned like having too firm suspension for UK.
When will people realize that the gt3 in its current configuration will not work with a manual? The engine was developed specifically with pdk in mind. Putting a manual in this car makes as much sense as putting an exhaust on a tesla. Give the manual thing a rest already.
There appears to be two completely individual cameras in this car and yet the view changes from one to the other without any interruption to the audio stream when you're speaking, and it doesn't look like there's anyone else in the car controlling the cameras. How on Earth did you manage this feat of editing (assuming it's not a secret)?
How much weight does a Porsche badge add that they'd sticker it . They should have rather stickered the number plate for weight saving . Just a thought.
***** I only said that because Shmee mentioned that all RS models were sold out in the UK. In general, you are 100% correct, the press cars are not always treated well.
+Shmee150 If you could have one of these one day, would you bring it to trackdays and try to perfect your racing skills ? Would love to see what you can do on track :) Btw, I just love that 4.0 Flat-6 engine sound... Best Porsche sound ever with the Flat-12 from the 917K
A sticker instead of a perfectly machined badge is just stupid as hell. Like one tiny badge is going to make a massive difference in weight. Even if it did, it would be completely insignificant compared to the rest of the car. It doesn't fit well with the level of Porsche genius and quality.
+Rasta Fari The badge is a very important detail in the car. At least in my opinion. The Porsche badge is what gives the car its worth. Like I said, having the sticker doesn't improve weight reduction significantly whatsoever. Sticker or not, it already is a very good track focused car, and if Porsche did make a big deal out of one small badge it is quite pointless of them. These days you don't have to be worthy to drive anything as long as you have money.
Is it me or does the RS sound more aggressive than the standard GT3? Then there's the question of ...is the RS worth the extra $60k CDN over the GT3 for street driving? As for the RS being a "track weapon" I don' think it's that much more "track focused" than the GT3. Both cars still have the "needless weight" in it (e.g. sound deadening in the floor/doors, glass windows, has carpet....etc.). Unlike the Ferrari Stradale...THAT is "track focused"...Or one of the closest examples IMHO. Another car 98% of owners won't use more than roughly 20% of it's potential..on the street. :) You buy cars like the RS "because you can". :)
There is one reason why i wouldn't buy this car. It hasn't got a cupholder ;). Just joking. Really amazing sound and a wonderful varnishing (in my opinion).
I don't see why they would give you this car to test. The cars are all, or basically all, sold. What is the point of giving one to you to test out? Usually manufactures give review cars in order to sell more cars, but they can't with this one.
Gehteuch Nichtsan So what? The car would be sold for high prices anyway used and like you said, no one is taking it on track days that much and definitely not driving it as much as Shmee did. Shmee's videos were great, but I don't see why Porsche would of supplied him with this car.
Its both, 911 is the model, 991 is the generation number. This car is a 911 991 gt3 RS previous GT3 RS was the 911 997 gt3 RS ;) The first porsche 911 was the 901 and the second generation was the 911 911
The 991.1 and the 991.2 are something that shouldn't be forgotten. You can get these for nearly what the MSRP was. NO dealer lock out or markup. All those who didn't drive them I say thank you. Now someone can enjoy the cars you saved.
This machine delivers an orgasmic response ! Amazing. How beautiful the sound the motor make.
That's the most beautiful Porsche I've seen
930 RSR > any Porsche
+Imbra Šlauf look up the custom Singer 911
Lijevi Desni
If I remember it correctly the tradition of using s sticker badge comes from the GT2 RS that had a carbon hood, it is as much a nod to the past as it is a weight saving exercise.
+Rene Bjørnskov
a nod that needs to go
Wow! Lava Orange with silver wheels!! It's awesome looking. 0:29 Just look at that! Amazing.
Seen 2 yesterday on the road in my country ( Belgium ) A white one and Black, the drivers pushed the pedal gotta admit, sickest porsche I've ever heard.. props to Porsche
I love the racing beast exterior with the luxury interior. Awesome combo!!
GT3RS > just about everything else
+TomásProRider Porsche is better imi
+TomásProRider You have clearly never driven one before. I have a 996 GT3 and the handling, sound, everything is perfect. Ferrari is mostly a car for douchebags and posers although i agree they are also very fast. Most of us Porsche drivers are in clubs and some of us even have track RSR's. +Hello Ejctici *became a car for douchebags...sadly
Take care
I have seen several tests of yours . I admit you make them better than official tests . Well done ....
*The GT3 RS is such an incredible car! It sounds amazing and the interior looks so cool. Great video.*
That exhaust sound is like no ther out there....just pure motorsport
The straps for doorhandles don't actually save weight, they are only there to add to the racing car theme.
+SenszR well, who told you that shit ?
m yz Andreas Preuninger, head of Porsche GT development.
+SenszR any Source to proof that?
***** Fuck off with your idiotic comments.
***** I'm not lying though. Why would I lie? Comment some stupid shit again and get blocked.
That will take you a year to now the full potential of that bad boy!!!!
A sticker ... thats not to save weight, its to save money... tell customers its for weight .... voala! profit!
+Kaspars Olehno Haha, if it was all for profit they would probably make 1,000 more GT3 RS' and sell them to people like me! Porsche work in mysterious ways...
+Kaspars Olehno Do you even know what the emblems cost?? You can order one at Porsche OriginalParts for under 20€. Absolutely wrong you are
+m yz Yeah it doesn't save that much money, but you have to agree that it's just a marketing gimmick on Porsche's part. It's just two small badges, which don't add a considerable advantage to weight reduction.
+Rasta Fari McLaren cut weight with the badges on the 675LT compared to the 650S as well, so that's just a marketing gimmick too?
J. Martinni You think whatever you want. But take the GT3 for example. It only has 2 badges, the Porsche emblem in the front and naming on the back. Same goes for McLaren. It's not a freakin Formula 1 car in which case it would be plastered by all kinds of different markings. Omitting badges for a sticker would make more sense in that case.
What a lively engine ! Reminds me a bit of the Lexus LFA.
Not similar at all...
+kerk tp In my opinion LFA has the best sounding exhaust ever. And now I know GT3 RS has the best sounding exhaust among 6 cylinder engines. Both being 9k revver should mean a lot here.
+Calde Ailis of course LFA sounds better...its a damn V10!! but gt3 rs beats it around corners.
Sam Lotfi Well some of the V10s sound A LOT poorer than this. Especially if you like high revver, racing engine feel it sounds like a thing from heaven, just like LFA.
+Calde Ailis well...my favorite V10 sound would be Carrera GT
Just saw one in my city. Looking pretty good in person.
Best review so far.
Very good review, way better than some other motoring channels. Great job man :)
really great video enjoyed it :)
+Tajinder Singh Thanks for watching!
+StereotypedFilms nice way to draw attention brother :)
hell of a job of video. Really great .
Great video. Just put a deposit down for the 991.2 GT3 RS - hopefully Porsche will be producing one. Intoxicating sound :)
An absolute dream car, glad you enjoyed it shmee, I thought you disliked Porsche 911's :D
A very very nice video, thx Tim.

beautiful car
what an awesome car. I still like the look of the standard GT3 over this one, but I'd take both, or either, ANY day :-)
Great review. I'm off to see your lap with Mr Ickx.
cheers
tony
Not only the modern porsches have the ignition slot on the left !!
This is porsche tradition
Hey Shmee, going through some of your old videos and dreaming of have my own gt3 or gt3 rs one day. Super great video!
Tim, when is the Europe trip Movie coming out? And when and where could we find it?
People from Porsche have hinted that the 991.2 may be getting a special edition of the GT3RS with a manual gearbox, let's pray the rumors are true
Pointless in this category. Going round fast corner changing gears is not good. This car has to be pdk. Other porches defo manual
About closing the hood on the ends; Does carbon fiber dent???
One of my fovourite 911 and yours GT4 great too :)
When will people realize that the gt3 in its current configuration will not work with a manual? The engine was developed specifically with pdk in mind. Putting a manual in this car makes as much sense as putting an exhaust on a tesla. Give the manual thing a rest already.
Seems you were wrong...
Would def take this over any Ferrari or lambo. But not a koenigsegg. So beautiful.
There appears to be two completely individual cameras in this car and yet the view changes from one to the other without any interruption to the audio stream when you're speaking, and it doesn't look like there's anyone else in the car controlling the cameras. How on Earth did you manage this feat of editing (assuming it's not a secret)?
Is there any real purpose having that big gear stick? Replace with some buttons? (Or a sticker :-)
GREAT VIDEO!!! BUT...............would LOVE to see you Review a Nissan GTR standard or even the NISMO :) +Shmee150
+SupercarsLancashire (R35addict)
fuck off boy racer, no one gives a shat about your gtr
Lol
miss a manual gear box on it ! , that sticker replacing the original metal badge is a way too much isn't it ?
Finally, Porsche have been getting some credkt for their awesome cars! 😀
+Jobawick UK finally?
Well from what ive seen... I mean I bet they get credit but I dont always see it.
What do you use to edit your videos Shmee150
damn that's one beautiful thing
Hello shmee.do you introduce the alfa romeo 4c coupe
+Shmee150 What a about buying a GT4 or Boxster spyder/gts?
How much weight does a Porsche badge add that they'd sticker it . They should have rather stickered the number plate for weight saving . Just a thought.
Cancel the 675LT order and ask Porsche if you can buy the GT3 RS press car! :)
+Sandeep Hasrajani That would just be a stupid decision. Its not in the same league
+Sandeep Hasrajani well he wouldn't be the first one who have tried. unfortunately they won't sell the press cars...
***** I only said that because Shmee mentioned that all RS models were sold out in the UK. In general, you are 100% correct, the press cars are not always treated well.
+Sandeep Hasrajani a 675lt money can get a overpriced second hand gt3 rs with cash left in your pocket
kktt2208 Yup! You are 100% right; sounds like a great deal to me :)
Amazing!
really nice supercar
oh and Englishman legs... lol.. classic shorts with a business shirt! love your vids
What if they made it with a hatchback style door so you can reach the backspace and still have the fixed bucked seats with no compromise?
+Daniel Maia Wouldn't that be a huge compromise? =) It's probably easier, and much, much cheaper to build similiar seats that can fold down.
Because it would look like shit
My favourite super car 👍🏻
Well I just bought the Lego Technic version of the 911 GT3 RS, since that's all I can afford now! Someday I'll have the real thing.
And if you really want to safe weight, you tick the box in the option list what says "no Audio system" and "no klima"
nice shirt man
+Shmee150 If you could have one of these one day, would you bring it to trackdays and try to perfect your racing skills ? Would love to see what you can do on track :)
Btw, I just love that 4.0 Flat-6 engine sound... Best Porsche sound ever with the Flat-12 from the 917K
shmee on porsche page it is call 911 gt3 rs but you say 991, so who is wrong ?
bertumal , you are right, but the actual full lable will be: 991.1 911 gt3 rs. The 991 is the current model 911. Have a look at the car history.
Bugs .. we can all hear the heat ticking of the engine and brakes.. you have just been hammering it.. side effects are the bugs
Shmee 150 come in bosnia!!!
Get rid of that Caymen you have and buy one of these they have like six of them on Ebay!
A sticker instead of a perfectly machined badge is just stupid as hell. Like one tiny badge is going to make a massive difference in weight. Even if it did, it would be completely insignificant compared to the rest of the car. It doesn't fit well with the level of Porsche genius and quality.
it's all about the details man! who doesn't understand that is not worthy to drive that car
+Rasta Fari The badge is a very important detail in the car. At least in my opinion. The Porsche badge is what gives the car its worth. Sticker or not, it already is a very good track focused car, and if Porsche did make a big deal out of one small badge it is quite pointless of them. These days you don't have to be worthy to drive anything as long as you have money.
You can spec a non-sticker badge
Rasta Fari Don't like it? Get your self the car go to the dealership switch it out. Simple.
One lucky guy I know that!
The Sticker means that the car was build by Porsche Motorsport...
Shouldn't have watched this, I want one now.
It looks like a frog. I love it.
would you have the gt3 rs over your 675lt?
Probably not.
Nice
911 gt3 Rs > Almost any other car
Those seats are an option though, I can only assume that the normal seats would fold.... :/
my dad has a modified Jeep grand Cherokee and now a 2010 range rover sport hse
Shmee 150 can you upgrade your camera and microphone... love you XD
beauty :)

"You can see the cars splattered with blood" ??
gt3 RS or 675lt...and why?
he says:Key on the left on all modern porsches". Always been like that on a 911. Jesus.
I coming at Germany.
the new 2015 Jeep grand Cherokee SRT 8 has 5.2 Lt engine
Where's the handbrake?
At this point he doesn't really need to introduce himself.
all of that black aero like the spliters, the side vents and the air ducts are made of carbon? because to me look like plastic
My only gripe is that it deserves a manual transmission 👍🏻
is this a good investment if I'm getting one for around $375,000
here in Canada, gt3 is like 250,000
Needs a Proper manual transmission!
Prices
There is one reason why i wouldn't buy this car.
It hasn't got a cupholder ;). Just joking.
Really amazing sound and a wonderful varnishing (in my opinion).
It has on the passenger side. You have to push this little carbon strip xD
Now that's what you should of bought. But I bet you couldn't get your hands on one there already 389,000 U.S. dollars!!!!
You're missing the word review from the title
Its very nice but im more tech based, which i dont like to admit
This is pornnnnn, Great review Tim!
