    Use to do this practice alot, really helped my scoring. I play another variation of it now where you can only hit the 20,19 and 18 bed, if you stray into any other segment thats your score finished and you have to start from zero again. It gets you concentrating on every dart and to use cover if blocked.

    I recently picked up a brand new Winmau Blade 6 dartboard and picked up a set of dare I say, entry-level darts. I'm absolutely new to darts. Of course I threw some back in the day but never on serious note. Anyhow, I found the cheap darts were just that ... cheap! I "upgraded" to a set of Harrows Supergrip 25g darts and what a game changer!!! I was actually looking for 22g darts but nobody local had them so went with the 25g set and love them. So, all this to say, I incorporated your scoring tips over the weekend and I'm glad to report ... I kicked some serious ass!!! Thank you so much! Never was a math scholar/genius (lol) so always went for the 20's but now that I use your strategy, I'm doing a hell of. lot better. Again, thank you!

    Thank you for this. It's amazing how sometimes the right video finds you at the right time! I'd been practicing in a simple fashion by throwing 50 darts at a segment (e.g. treble 20) and keeping a record of how many times I hit it (then multiplying by 2 to give a % success rate figure).
    This Power Scoring game is better as it rewards near misses in the single bed as a real match would. It's also good to use as a benchmark - a score of 30 is equivalent to a 60 average on scoring shots, 40 equals an 80 average and 50 is a 100 average (assuming you only throw at 20, of course).
    It's also quick and simple and easy to track in your head.

    Thanks for that video! I paused 2 minutes into it to go over to the board and try a game.
    I enjoyed it, but it might be due to the "success" I had at it my first couple of tries. Makes me think that "decent league player" between 35 and 40 is generous. I scored 49 my first try and I've never played a match in my life. Barely play anyone but myself 99.9% of the time. And I'm just a mediocre noob.

    Good way to practice is 301 double in double out your choice of route before hand try finish with 6 darts you fail to hit your choosen route you start from the beginning. My favorable is double top treble 17 treble 20 and to check out treble 18 treble 20 double 18, if I fail to hit a treble I would start again ps smoke a joint you focus better

    I can easily play this game 20 times in a row without getting bored.
    If I may ask, what routine would you recommend to get better at hitting doubles? I usually play Bob's 27/420 and also Catch 40 when I have more time, but I haven't had significant breakthroughs as of yet. 🙂

    How are you deciding when to switch? For example the first dart you threw did not appear to block the bed. I also note the pros do this often too.

    • @WorldwideDarts
      @WorldwideDarts  5 лет назад +1

      It all depends on how it looks from the oche. If I switched in this video then the target was blocked. For example, during my last turn the first dart went high and blocked the T20 bed. It might be hard to see in the video but if there's ANY chance I might get a weird deflection then I'll switch. If you're watching a full match the pro's might also go for a cover shot to leave a better finish. They will switch often for better set up shots.

    • @WorldwideDarts
      @WorldwideDarts  5 лет назад +1

      I remember seeing that. It's a game called cricket count up. I always questioned the number as it sounded a bit too high, even for a 5 time world champion. There's only 7 segments and he averaged over 7 marks every turn when one of those segments is the bullseye. So if if hit a 7 mark on every number plus 3 in the bullseye that would be a score of 48. He claims 52? A perfect score would be 60. Anyway, fun practice game though
