Do you guys remember the Joe Lombardi days, when the opposing CBs were telling our receivers which play we were about to run? It’s so nice to have such a talented and creative mind calling our plays these days, and being the opposite of predictable.
OL Committee is the best. I have been watching football forever, but this show has taught me so much about all the intricate OL player responsibilities, shifts, movements, etc. I was never aware of. I keep telling everyone they need to watch this show. -Rob
Just found your channel and subbed immediately. You guys do a great job of breaking down the ABC's of play concepts. As a lifelong and long-suffering Lions fan, it feels good to finally have a competent team, owner and front office. Plus, dismantling and embarrassing the Cowboys was long overdue.
Players who love their coach give maximum effort. It's contagious. Elevates every person on the field, and on the sideline. It's the template all FB fan dreams of.
Thank you for the flea flicker breakdown for the OL guys...I always thought this play is a challenge for the OL because of the added tricks...kinda is but in a fun way when everyone knows what they're doing.
I'm so glad the algorithm gods led me to your channel! In just over 20 minutes, I’ve learned more about the strategy behind the offensive line vs. defense chess match than I have from hours of other content. When watching games live, it often looks like chaos in the trenches, but you guys break down the real strategy-the way formations, blocking schemes, and subtle shifts can completely change a play’s outcome. Seeing how offensive lines create space, control the game, and manipulate defenses has totally opened my eyes. As a long-time suffering Lions fan, since the days of Barry Sanders, it's amazing to finally see my team thrive, and your breakdowns make it even more enjoyable. New subscriber here-thanks for the great content!
I think in the split zone concept w Gibbs, they leave 2 guys unblocked on purpose because of Gibbs speed With his speed & the ability of the WR to block, it’s designed to be a 10-20 yard gain on the outside and Gibbs just having the angles with his speed
The Lions film study is clinical. This is how you move and manipulate defensive players. What a special group physical yet agile 2nd level blocking Gibbs and Montgomery going 5-10 yards before getting touched, it's a violent ballet every man knows exactly what his assignment is and they execute it. Hole after gaping hole time after time.
My first time watching, fellas, your commentary is hilarious. " #13 guarding LaPorta, " hey, what's going on? What are you guys doing back there? Why are you throwing it back to him? " 😂😂😂 GO LIONS
Last year I saw Penei Sewell pull from his RT position all the way over to the left side flat on a running play and still make it ahead of the running back in time to make his block at the point of attack. Crazy skill set. Had he stayed for another year he would have been the #1 overall pick in the 2022 draft. Somehow fell to #7 in 2021.
As a football ref who loves watching film your play breakdown is awsome. Love what you boys are doing Lets go DETROIT . What program do u use for film review
One thin I will say about Goff. If he's given the extra half second, he'll dice you up more often than not. It's also interesting just how much relies on the TE to make the right call with either the block or route. LaPorta is getting to that next level quickly, if not there already.
There was an insane amount of defenders not wrapping up and making good tackles. When you got linebackers and lineman trying to shoulder shove tackle, you have a terrible, terrible defense.
I can tell you for a fact that block in the back does not exist in the box. That is 100% a rule. until they reach the secondary or they leave the tacklebox on the perimeter,There is no block in the back.
Hey, Alex, on that TD by Montgomery around 7:00, Parker Hesse, Lions #43, is leading through what looks like might be the hole. How is that not a chop block? The whole Dallas DLine is sliding left and he runs off tackle and cut blocks the front end of the line. Seriously, that’s illegal and dangerous af isn’t it? Something I’m missing? Lions OLine (ed: Graham Glasgow 60) sure looks engaged (ed: w/ Osa Odighizuwa 97).. Hesse hits him low, ? I realize you can call holding every play. (And seems like they did, Buf/NYJ game 🫤) But this is less common and more egregious.
@@RS-ue7gv I’m aware it wasn’t called. My point is that’s staring us in the face and no comment? On an OLine analysis clip? That’s like touting a facemask tackle on a linebacking tutorial.
@@TDiggz Top run D only because they've been able to play with leads. Lions gonna run it down their throat from the beginning, get the lead and never give it up. Gonna be a long day for Minny.

ben johnson laughing maniacally
I’m gonna miss that creativity once Ben inevitably leaves. Not worried about the Lions, they’ll be fine. But it won’t be quite the same.

I know I'm not supposed like the Lions, but I do enjoy watching them play. Ben Johnson is a great play caller
Happy people pay attention to the trenches
I think the whole fourth quarter was a message to the Vikings. Haha Can't wait.
Favorite part is seeing the O-Line continuing to block down field. They know Monty is going to keep fighting to keep the play alive.
Favorite part is Monty getting extended because he always fights to keep the play alive.
Not just them. The WRs never stop blocking either. They are all bought in.

Yes. They gift Gibbs 5 yards and then watch him use his God given talent to juke defenders out their shoes. 1 of 3 trips will be a touchdown run.
