I like this fly and it works. When tying the BWO version and specifically the CDC I started tying a separate feather (not super select) with stem on either side of the trigger point. Was just easier than the no stem approach. Same end result and the stem in each cdc wing gives them a little rigidity. I also use the 3 strand body quill for the tail. Just a thought. Thanks for all your work making these videos.

This is awesome. As someone who is just beginning tying I really appreciate your videos, so thank you for taking the time to make them. In an effort to support even more videos just put a nice order in with you guys. Any chance you could do a video on tying the Quigley Split Flag BWO? Thanks again.

NANO SILK THREAD IS MUCH MORE SENSIBLE . #18.0 IS PERFACT AND IT WON'T BREAK!!! I don't split the tails either but I do wrap once under them. I use a needle or my bobbin to split the wing .I find it gives me more control ,then I fold over the wing case to further split the wings in 2 . Trigger point fibres comes in many colures

I want that purple vice so bad. I am a Purple Heart recipient so purple and blue (color of the infantry) have a special meaning to me.

Just watched a video where Antonio uses CDC for the body, the thorax, and the wing. This must be a variation on that?! I’ll give them both a try and see how they perform. 🎣

Question for you guys. I know it is a bit of personal preference but I'm wondering what is your favorite hooks for dry fly, nymphs, and streamers? I know from watching and tying myself yours and my preferred jig hook. Love all of the information you guys provide and love the gear you have helped me with.
    Thanks!!

Thanks for the tutorial. I was wondering how, in your view, this fly compares to Phil Bair's No See Um in terms of fish catching potential.

Creech, looks like you've messed up the fine finish on your popsicle purple vise with some errant UV or head cement.

Is this a oholies fly pattern? If so I've destroyed with this fly as a trico. Just make the body black on a 16 and it does the trick

@@FlyFishFood um, yeah. I’ve been tying since 1983, I’ve seen a lot of marketing efforts to subtly convince tiers they need this material or that. I’ve fallen for a lot of it myself, which is demonstrative to the huge cache of tying material I have (my recent purchases mostly from you over the last four years). But in the end, I find unique materials (or hook sizes) may not always be needed to convince a trout. You have a great shop with tons of great material, and your go-to-market concept is great, even if apparently it may not be on purpose. In the end, I have all the material I need to tie this great looking fly, even if I don’t have a #19 with a matte finish. Trust me, I envy your ability to move product. You work in a very competitive field.

Size 19 hook? Get serious! For Fall olives, if you're on the East coast, that's huge. If you're lucky, you can use a #22 but more likely a #24 is needed. Toward the end of the season, they get even smaller.
