I just have to say that even though you are not in my zone, I love your videos. You actually teach how to do something. Most of the other people I have watched, just want to show off their garden and their crops. I am interested in learning, not admiring what others have. I don't covet or lust after what others have, but I love to study and learn to help my family. Thanks for all you do. Praise God for healing Nancy.

Thanks for watching my friend!! Indeed, we strive to help others learn especially those that have never tried to garden before. We hope to inspire others. Nancy is still following up with her doctors. We are on a strict 5 year follow up medical plan. We are in Gods hands. Peace to you dear friend, have a peaceful week.😇

    Dear H & N
Thank you for starting this channel.
I am the proud mother of two good men. The younger one has autism. I'm a special need teacher, and I work with young adults with autism. I know nothing about planting. My next year project involves gardening. I want them to be productive dignified people in the future. I spent this whole long weekend looking through RUclips. Everybody has nice ideas, but your videos are the answers to my prayers in every sense.
I live in Florida and I hope my project takes off soon, so I will show you our progress.
God bless you with bountiful harvests and a happy long life! Thank you again! I'll be watching and learning.

This is the absolute genius video on RUclips about growing sweet potatoes. Your methods are simple easy and efficient. Your a walking talking book of knowledge. I want to personally thank you and thank God the Father for placing you in my path. I'm so blessed by your works and the light you've shined on me. Thank you and God bless you and your family 🙏❤️
I'm going to apply the knowledge I've gained here to my own gardening. In the world we love be in today a man is unsure and uncertain about tomorrow. To be prepared and ready for anything isn't paranoid. It's smart enough to know how to survive the storm.
Thanks again, keep up the good work 💪

I put three sweet potatoes in glasses of water on November 6 and already today, November 25, two of them have roots and vines about a foot high. The third obviously wasn’t organic as advertised! I will be planting them in one of my earth boxes with a trellis, maybe soon as I’m in FL. Winter is our growing season.

Thanks for this series! Last year, I had a Japanese sweet potato that started sprouting in my cabinet, and not knowing any better, I planted it like a regular potato in a spare pot on my balcony. Midway through the season, I realized something was up, and these videos really helped me learn how to do it correctly. I even salvaged the slips from that original potato and got a ton of sweet potatoes last year from a single container on my NYC balcony! Really looking forward to an even better harvest this time!
Also, a tip I learned this year: when soaking the sweet potato in water, the pointy end should be the top. That will make the slips grow from the bottom of the potato and they will root way, way faster.

this was one of the first video I watched before I subscribed. Followed your process, except I planted one as you show, laying out the roots on the slope and then another straight up. Finding: both buckets produced about the same. both buckets had most of the potatoes on top 1/3 of bucket; none in bottom 1/2; neither had vines attached to a trellis and no vines "crept" outside the top of buckets. our son and daughter helped us "harvest" our crop and everyone was so excited that WE DID IT !! Thanks to you.

I just came across your videos and I'm in awe of all that you both are doing. I'm a Christian also that has just came through a hard trial in my life, sadly I'll be legally divorced this coming Monday the 19th and I'm having to start over again on a new foundation, but this time I'm letting the Lord build it and let Him direct my paths. I've always lived in the country but now I'm having to live in a small apartment in town and I was wanting to try my hand at container gardening growing crops inside n partially outside cause I'm not allowed to dig up the ground here. Anyway, God Bless you both and you are a very sweet encouragement to me...
    In Christ,

Just planted them with my grandfather! We're not entirely going to grow our own food, but it's a fun project.

I'm glad you know that the entire vine can be rooted. It kills me seeing people toss their vines from the season of harvest that could easily be kept in a jar of water inside all winter and have thousands of slips by next spring

Great video and everything I needed/wanted to know! I live West TN, North of Memphis. My house is 102 tears old, with no heat or AC. There are 2 coal fireplaces, but chimneys are too old to be safe without inserts. It's still pretty chilly here with temps sometimes in the 30's, so I have to wait awhile, but looking forward putting your video to good use! Thank you for your video.

Hollis and Nancy, you are so sweet I could not help but subscribe today. Its early March and so cold still here in Canada but I am dreaming of my garden. I found you today and I just love your gentle spirits. Your garden is neat and well laid out, it really does inspire me. We have built a new home, our garden is smallish, but I can see from your container organization that even a smallish space can yield alot. Thank you for explaining so patiently about sweet potatoes, now I know what to do. I love that you give God the glory, He makes the seeds grow, its AMAZING. I'm yapping on too much, guess I already feel LIKE FAMILY;)

Welcome to the family ❤️❤️🐶. It does not take a lot of space to feed a family of 4. We especially like the container garden. So much easier to maintain
