I know the song title isn’t targeted towards Liam but rather The Lord Of Crimes victims I still feel the compulsive need to point out Liam doesn’t at all fit the textbook “Sociopath” or “Psychopath” for that matter. A lot of people conflate the two and use the terms interchangeably. A lot of the men Liam and his brothers killed would be regarded as Sociopaths. The common behavior being, lack of guilt and remorse, an artificial personality, common manipulation, addiction, frequent law breaking, impulsive behavior etc. the list goes on. I believe Sherlock would be a better example of a Sociopath than Liam. Liam is shown to have empathy and remorse for people he’s hurt and doesn’t have impulsive episodes like Sherlock does. Where as Sherlock doesn’t understand empathy or remorse on a large scale, he doesn’t know how to apologize, he’s a manipulator and is seen to have trouble maintaining his own relationships and impulsive behaviors including his drug addictions. An example of this would be when he turned to opioids after not being able to shoot Hope and had a breakdown and blamed Watson for being useless. This is textbook narcissistic sociopath. As to why Liam doesn’t fit the criteria for a Sociopath is that he still has an understanding of empathy and while some sociopaths do understand what empathy is they don’t understand remorse or guilt, which Liam certainly does when he feels sorry for dragging everyone into his problems and hating himself for doing so, and even has strong suicidal thoughts and behaviors to prove he’s not being manipulative about it. He lacks the impulsive behavior although fits the criteria for manipulative and smooth talking. Liam is seen drinking and smoking in the series but never to the point of addiction, which makes me believe he has a mix of Chronic Depression, post complex traumatic stress disorder. This doesn’t mean that Liam is unlikely to turn to abusive substances just because he may have a different diagnosis. Anyways, this is a fictional psychological analysis on anime characters because I am bored and I have nothing to do. I’m so sorry you may have read this
