Great recap! ILNP has the best customer service. There was a Reddit thread praising Brandon, one of their customer service reps; it’s very wholesome. Another mini scandal that happened this year was with Humble Bee Polish. A nail swatcher made a post about how HBP had been taking her photos (as well as several other swatchers’ photos) and putting them in the company’s Instagram and Facebook feeds without permission. In essence, they were stealing swatch photos and using them for promotional purposes without permission from the swatchers. They were called out for this, played dumb, and kept stealing photos.
We LOVE Brandon!!! I’m pretty sure it’s illegal considering swatchers own the copyright to their own images they post on social media. If that’s the case, Humble Bee Polish using copyright images for commercial purposes seems illegal. The problem is that swatchers probably don’t want to get into a legal battle with a small business, but it seems like Humble Bee Polish would be in the wrong. I encourage everyone to boycott the brand because they don’t deserve to make money while stealing other people’s content (and content creators are essentially small business owners, which makes the theft worse). There’s a Reddit post about all of this too.
Whew! Who nail polish could be so interesting?! 😅 It definitely has been a year full of shenanigans. Here’s to 2025 being a bit less crazy! Thanks for sharing!
every time i tell someone in my life that the nail polish community has low grade drama/scandals they're in shock...i forgot about how much has happened this year LOL
the other cirque happening i thought you were gonna mention was when they edited a swatcher's comparison to make two jellies seem less like dupes... that was pretty sketchy
I love your more casual commentary type nail polish related content, definitely fills a niche that I didn’t know I needed!
😭 THANK YOU!!! ❤️

OMG I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT THAT!!! Was it with the Jarritos collab? Am I remembering this correctly??
@@no_nail_notes yepp and it was with the yellow jelly in the collection bc it looked like an almost perfect dupe for something they already sell 😭
