Never look down on farmers...if they don't work, WE DON'T EAT! It's amazing how many people can't figure this out. I think it's great that Jasmine had to work on a farm for six months. Nothing like seeing where the food comes from to make you appreciate a full stomach.

Farmers - Provide all the food we need in order to eat and survive on.
Restaurant workers - Works hard to make dining out as pleasant as possible for customers to enjoy.
Janitors/cleaners - Keeps the environment clean and safe from any hazards that could cause germs to spread, or objects which could cause accidents.
Bin people - Collecting and disposing rubbish that will cause vermin to spread, along with their diseases and terrible smells in the air, not to mention items that could potentially harm wildlife and even small children if left laying around.
Sewer Inspector - Clean the bowels of the city to keep our waste out of the streets and to keep our water clean.
Plumbers - Keeps our taps running smoothly so that we don't have leaks that will cause huge financial damage over-time if left for too long and stops waste of water.
It doesn't matter what kind of job people do, they deserve to still be treated with respect and not as second class citizens.

Jazmine needed to work on a farm, so she can appreciate where her food actually comes from.
We live in a rural county in lower Alabama. There are farms everywhere. My husband and I enjoy viewing the farmers in the fields, the cattle grazing, and the crops growing. Our closest neighbor is a farmer. He stops by with different veggies, eggs from his chickens, and even fresh fish he's caught. We never asked for it, but we're always grateful.

So please, my internet brothers and sisters, respect our farmers and the hard work they do.

    • @lisagulick4144
      @lisagulick4144 2 года назад

@@l.w.4701 I read about a corn farmer whose profits were being eaten up by chemical fertilizers. So he started researching the way his grandfather had farmed and gotten profitable yields, and the solution he came up with was...manure. Composted cow and horse manure. He started using that, and the first year he didn't have a very good yield. Second year, it was nearly up to his former level, and by the third year, his soil had become good and stout, and his yield was more than it had ever been...and it was of such good quality that it fetched a better price!
Along with being cheaper than chemical fertilizers, manure compost is tilled into the ground as it is applied, so there is no runoff worry. And it's a renewable resource (cows never stop dropping those pies!), so if you happen to have some cows already, it becomes part of the great circle of life!

That method does make the potatoes mushy, however, so another way is to boil or bake a separate potato, then mash it with a little of your soup liquid, then add it to the soup. Yum!

Speaking as a non-American, I reckon potatoes were once an expensive novelty in my countries history. I know that some time in the 1700s, the wealthy land owners spent fortunes on a single fresh pineapple to show it off to other rich friends. They'd never eat it.

I love potatoes. One thing though. Farmers are owner/operators. They are their own boss. Many times when they retire they end up selling the land. It's their pension plan. Depending on the amount of land involved they could be work millions. Which will be willed when they pass. It takes a lot of dedication to earn a living in an industry that does not gloss over failures nor rewards success.

Had he failed to get the contract reinstated I would have felt no sympathy for her husband. I know we are not mind readers but when someone has personality flaws THAT MAJOR there are usually red flags that come up that an astute person should notice. The fact that he was so oblivious to his wife's personality shows that he is also flawed as a person even if that flaw is just being oblivious.
Also, its partially HIS fault because what he SHOULD have done well before this incident started maybe a few years earlier is sit down with his wife and explain to her carefully that the vegetables his restaurant uses comes from her sister in law's farm so please be nice to her. He never did that and it would have only taken a few minutes.
If I was the narrator of this video you know what I would have done? I would have said that I will only renew the contract with you if you get DIVORCED first, and if you do the first shipment of vegetables will be free of charge!

Then again, her brother did mention she doesn't listen much, and she mentioned she never talks about her husband's work, until the contract was mentioned. I guess the protagonist had some patience still holding, but faults are heard of. Some accepting more than the one who caused the effect.
