Great to see someone filling the void for physical media. As a former video store owner I can say not everyone feels the same way. Great content keep up the good work my man

Another great video. Some of my favorite things from Limited Run are the new NES releases like Rugrats and all the NES games they are helping indie devs to get onto carts. Even if the future is digital, there are dozens of consoles they can still release physical games on people are interested in. Getting new games for old consoles is really cool.

As someone who lives somewhat nearby to the store, It has created an interesting dynamic for me. It often eases the FOMO on many title releases, as oftentimes I can just pick it up at the store at my own leisure. As a result, I haven't felt as burned when games take a long time to go from ordered to ship. In addition, the store does a wonderful job of fulfilling a feeling I haven't had in a while. It almost emulates that nostalgic feeling of being a kid at a game store. I get that's the vibe they're going for, and they do succeed in that regard. It also is nice everything is at their MSRP, so the games themselves feel like something you can pick up a bit more on a whim (compared to having to pay for shipping and waiting, or just paying AAA game prices).

I hear that, I’d like to see them scale limited run retail, but am also curious how many stores they could have before they reach a saturation point that becomes unprofitable and unsustainable. I could see them maybe having a second location in a different accessible city which would do a lot to relieve fomo for others as well.

That's so cool, wish Sega make a 3d beat em up arcade collection of dynamite deka series, spikeout series, zombie revenge and slashout.. and another metal slug anthology with decent emulation for switch console.. not the pix n love physical copy.. heard it's the same one from the PS2..

Grabbed Persona 3P and Persona 4 golden from Limited Run. Theyre pretty decent but the wait time absolutely sucked. Took me over a YEAR from the moment of payment to receive the game. a Remake got announced and RELEASED by the time it took me to order and receive.

You know I’m the type of person that has such a huge backlog I don’t mind waiting. I usually get a few games at a time, and the packages take a bit longer. I think about this a lot. The cooler the collectors edition, the longer it’ll take to manufacture individual parts. As a part of their mission to be a more “final release,” of a game they’ve gotta wait a while for the devs to release dlc or at least patches of the game too.
That being said, while it’s a bummer to wait such a long time, it’s definitely not an Amazon prime type service, it’s a wait for a while type service, and that’s why I usually also end up with the digital copy as well. Lowkey I’ve always thought if they did bundle deals with a physical “when it’s done done,” and a digital to play while I wait, the wait wouldn’t feel so long.

Limited Run and their artificial scarcity FOMO tactics sucks. Never buying from them

I hear that. I understand it’s difficult to make these games physically as well. They usually have that open enrollment, which allows a certain level of everybody getting what they want, but I can’t count the number of times I almost get a game forget, then instantly get fomo. I liked it when they had second chances via Best Buy versions. That being said, I don’t know a perfect solution for everybody getting the games they want, but at the same time I think they are trying their best to get games in hands of gamers

@@ThePaulWeber I don't think so. I think they're purposely keeping preorder windows small in order to incentiveze their predatory FOMO business model. Predatory business models to squeeze collectors is one thing.
It's also rumored that they're in bed with eBay scalpers (investigation by mrixrt), which seems believable.
