The PS3 and PS Vita stores close Aug. 27, 2021; the PSP's remaining purchase functions will end on July 2, 2021. PS3, Vita, and PSP owners will still be able to re-download and play any games they've purchased through the PlayStation Store. This video contains PS3 games in Playstation PS3 store (EU area).

Can you still buy games on the Playstation store on the ps3?

You can transfer funds to your PSN wallet. I borrow text, which is displayed, when you visit PS3 PlayStation store here --> "Should you wish to buy digital content for your PS3 or PS Vita, you must first add sufficient funds to your PSN wallet using a desktop or mobile device, or a PS4 or PS5 console.
You can then use those PSN wallet funds to make your digital purchases at PS Store on your PS3 or PS Vita.
