Really good to see some Peterborough test routes on RUclips, I'd prefer to see it not sped up as there's so much knowledge you give & so much happens that doesn't get mentioned. I just want everything explained! Lol. Good video though so much appreciated.
6:30 A lot of fibre optic cable roadworks happening at the moment same thing at 9:03 where the fail occurred. Unfortunate decision to join in a queue blocking the side road. The length of road along Bourges Boulevard between Thorpe Road roundabout and the next roundabout used to be 40 mph with a reduction to 30 mph where the bus stops on the left are located. I think the majority of drivers have not noticed this because the 30 mph signs are before the Mayors Walk roundabout.
Is the orton waterville route used much in Peterborough? The other Peterborough routes that you've covered on your channel seem to be the most common ones, is that true?
Hi Francesca. Yes there’s a route that’s used a fair bit that goes from the test centre to Oundle road and follows it all the to Orton Waterville where you normally do a manoeuvre. Out past Orton brimbles following city centre signs down to Fletton parkway and head back to the test centre. Unfortunately I forgot to take the SD card out after the last test that went this way and it had recorded over half of it before I remembered 😞. The main thing I’ve had people get wrong on that route has been speeding after the ferry meadows roundabout. It’s still a 30 limit despite the road not seeming like it needs to be. In conversations with other instructors they’ve also had people fail for moving into the middle lane too soon on the parkway approaching the Hampton exit. The left lane turns into a slip road but you shouldn’t swap lanes until the signs are visible (unless you’re overtaking anyway). People that live near there know what the road does and can be tempted to move over early - they fail for lane discipline.
Hi Patrick. A good question and I’ll be honest I don’t know the answer to that. I did my ADI test in Cambridge and I’ve taught 1 instructor but he ended up doing his test in Northampton due to availability. From my experience with those 2 though. I’d expect the ADI test to cover a lot of the same areas but also include a bit of motorway.

My test is coming up soon, and these videos are so helpful. Thank you!

Hi are the ADI routes the same as normal test routes?
