That 90s footage made me nostalgic so hard. That to me is when skating was fun, you'd go out and you would skate with your friends, skate some fun shit, do some cool tricks, and maybe even learn something new. That to me is what skating has always been about. Having fun and continuously progressing while still remembering why you ever were into skating in the first place. Geoff's skating always reminds me of that. You're the man Geoff.
“I definitely have to now and again take a good slam to be able to make the trick. There’s a lot of truth to that… I don’t really think about it. To tell you the truth. I do the best I can to put it out of my mind. Until I’m right there and present and in front of the situation. That way, my adrenaline doesn’t start moving… You only get like 20 minutes of peak - performance, if you wanna call it. When your adrenaline start kicking in. And when you’re skatin’ stuff where you could die or fall off -- break your neck, break your back, get paralyzed -- the slams like that, you can’t mess around with that. You gotta be in the right frame of mind, or you don’t approach it.”
(3:07 - 3:43) that's so beautiful and hilarious to me. like mind over matter but in the reverse direction. he was excellent not because he tried to break through limitations but because he had no idea they were there. he just assumed you were supposed to skate that hard. crazy. life lesson right there.
skated with moul one day about 12 years ago down in arizona at this skatepark, chillest dude out there was busting the highest pop shuvits ive ever seen
I used to skate the Rowley XLT shoes in white/red. I loved those shoes. Skate shoes are so comfy. I still wear my globe sabers occasionally when I'm not wearing my Adidas or converse.
porosity FXDB I actually went to them after the Flip Team demo when they throw a whole bunch of shit & got with the team manager throw a whole bunch of shit & left when I saw my brother leaving. Outside of Southside Geoff came up to me, brother & his friends & hung out with us til my mom came for us. I still have the short he signed for my brother epic shit I had his email back in 02 2000
He lived his life the way it should be lived...follow your dreams, no regrets. F*uck pushing kids into dull careers and making them think that their dreams aren't achievable. 18 when he went to the States and came out a hero. Take a leaf kids!
6:56 that’s dedication to a trick in a case it doesn’t go well But that’s Geoff because he was so gnarly like that like Greco because they’re balls to the wall
Liverpool rocks! Went their last year for a visit, great town !!! Day in a life with Ed Templeton on 411 VM 28 love it!!!! my first skateboard video ever ! of course Geoff has a Part in this, too. Pro Files with Geoff Rowley... bäääääääääääääääm
i skate from time to time too! but i just dont feel the chemistry of the pain and the adrenaline like i used to anymore, geoff made me realize what made me do those tricks was just because i subconsciously felt the moment was right and just did it! fuck i need to skate now
I feel you so hard Geoff when I found out that those parts and those covers and those impossible tricks were landed on one try out of anywhere from 10 to 100 over what could have been hours, days, or weeks to land cleanly on a good angle with decent light and with the desired style, it was akin to the feeling wrestling fans get when the hear the truth or what I can imagine kids these days feel like when they figure out that these RUclips insane trick shot type videos and shit are the same way. I almost believed instantly that skating was a matter of 1/3 luck, 1/3 balls, and 1/3 determination. No shit. But then after some thought and after some research, I realised that the physics and the consequences of miscalculating shit when you atttempt these insane pieces and then you add on an insane trick to do on it, noone can give you shit for not doing it off camera like it ain't shit bc those guys can do the shit that is still awesome that few can do on the less dangerous shit and then have the balls and ambition to attempt to capture those moments all just to make a little cheddar and put a smile on some kids face that spends his allowance or paper route money all on skate content and merch that allow these men to do what they love for a living and live as free as birds. To me, the yearning to claim a spot, choose an epic task to complete, ragdoll yourself up and down that bitch, and refuse to clock out I til you have earned the right to have that moment in time stopped just for you and be immortalised and then showcased in a way that forces your peers and colleagues to give due to your dream, that is something that makes me sick to the stomach that I ever for a second considered calling fake or misleading.
Ed and Geoff in Huntington Beach while Penny and also Andrew Reynolds and all his homies were all in the same spot just wrecking shop is so sick to me. Just Ed and Geoff alone is major
Its so cool seeing Ed and Geoff hanging out when they were younger. Makes sense why they both have some of the best noseblunts ever.
One word. LEGEND
Geoff is my hero
Man that makes so much sense to me now why he's so insanely good. His bar was set high.

360 flip became an art because of this dude. He caught on in NYC. We loved him.
(3:07 - 3:43) that's so beautiful and hilarious to me. like mind over matter but in the reverse direction. he was excellent not because he tried to break through limitations but because he had no idea they were there. he just assumed you were supposed to skate that hard. crazy. life lesson right there.
If it doesn't give you it don't take it. That's such a great quote and I've never skated rails or stairs
skated with moul one day about 12 years ago down in arizona at this skatepark, chillest dude out there was busting the highest pop shuvits ive ever seen

I used to skate the Rowley XLT shoes in white/red. I loved those shoes. Skate shoes are so comfy. I still wear my globe sabers occasionally when I'm not wearing my Adidas or converse.

Ever since I saw Geoff in the tony hawk games I have thought he was the most badass skater. Great Episode!
Templeton has done so much for skateboarding.
And now he kinda looks like Joaquin Phoenix lol
He lived his life the way it should be lived...follow your dreams, no regrets. F*uck pushing kids into dull careers and making them think that their dreams aren't achievable. 18 when he went to the States and came out a hero. Take a leaf kids!
Really good Vice episode
The amount of pro careers Ed Templeton has been a part of is insane!
6:56 that’s dedication to a trick in a case it doesn’t go well
But that’s Geoff because he was so gnarly like that like Greco because they’re balls to the wall
that caballerial heelflip down the 8 stair!? hardly see anyone do that trick. those flip guys were so ahead of their time
First video ever owned flip sorry when I was 11 to this day his and appleyards parts are legendary
Best episode yet
I miss those original vans rowleys from the 00s. Only complaint was if you kept slipping them on the back part would buckle
The BEST epicly laterd yet
Rowley is so fucking metal but so calm
3:12 You can see how he was so far ahead of everyone else. No one did cab flips back in the 90's. And he did it down 10 stairs like nothing.
Looks like a cab heel flip too. Fucking insane.
