- We've managed to avoid most of the rumours and spy shots. We watched the launch live and here are our unscripted, genuine launch reactions as it was streaming from Garmisch Parternkirchen.
Don't hate us - we were just saying it as we felt it!
Hi Everyone, Thanks to all of you for your comments! Having 2 or 3 days now to find out more information on this new bike, and I am afraid it’s not getting any better! 😢 So if we go for the new bike!! I think it’s not just the bike, is it BMW panniers, tank bag and so on. Is BMW making it difficult to fit 3rd party items? I have always like the GSA but now is it going to be the GS? Do I need a bigger bike with 30 litres of fuel just to go and see Andy? 😂 All the best to everyone. Dave.

Just purchased the 1250gsa hp identical to dave's and by the looks of that I'll be keeping it for a long time to come.
Excellent video Andy… Two quotes of the year….”15 seconds to £25.000” & “That’s not right” We could not stop laughing mate.. Looks a bit like a two wheel Tonka toy..if it we’re yellow!!
Robocop was the first word that came to my mind too. Too many straight lines and boxes, like a 70’s Volvo.
Agree with your sentiments entirely Andy and Dave I thought it also had a look of the Suzuki 800 v Strom too, perhaps I’ll change my view when I see it in the flesh more but I like my bike more 😊

It looks like an unpresentable dish in a posh restaurant, and needs to be taken back to the kitchen to be reworked. Maybe throw it in the trash, and start anew. Or just bring the old design back with the new features. That 1250 was fabulous.
You are absolutely correct on tank range Andy …
The furthest any European is going to ride this will be remote Morocco or perhaps distant Baku.
Even there, gas stations in those places are more plentiful than the U.K. !
Dave may be correct … to see it in the flesh could change things.
Ugly things become less ugly the longer you have them and live with them on a day to day basis. Just ask my wife!!!

I think it looks great, if it looked just like the 1250 people would complain . I am sure people complained when the Ford Cortina was replaced with the Sierra but it’s called progress 😊
I think we'll get used to it - hated the 1300GS on launch but that's growing on me. Seeing it in the flesh will make a difference I think.
@@andybcole no comparison! Standard 1300 went sporty, GSA went bonkers!
I am obviously in the minority here but compare the first R80 GS from the 1980 to the new model. stylings change and always will. 😊

R1250 RS and love it. I like all bikes but don’t understand why most people ride an adventure bike on the road. 😊
You could argue that a normal GS with the best metal panniers you can afford …. that’s the “sweet spot”.

Looks like it’s been designed by an undertaker with toilet seat up. It’s hideous.
Your reactions to the new GSA are spot on. BMW fans are easily persuaded so it’ll sell, as always. I’m not a fan. Only time will tell.
It’s a little bit heartbreaking…. We have become used to BMW making better bikes than the competitors…. but this ?
Triumph Tiger 1200 now is the better looking bike. Even Harley PanAm is better looking

Design fail shocker. It wont sell. Too may other great bikes out there with virtually the same tech and quality will draw hardened BMW customers away. Fully loaded at c£25k you need to be able to look back at your bike in the garage and give it that nod and smile as you confirm it a thing of beauty. Cannot see that with the new R1300 GSA.

The base model (which has lots of standard equipment) is just £18K on the road.
£18,870 for the very base model. No pricing yet on the configurator but add panniers and packages and it will be well over £26k - ouch!
