- Villa Angela remains as elegant as it was 150 years ago. The Villa is a traditional period residence of the 19th century with many items of authentic antique furniture and fittings. Built by Gobernadorcillo Agapito Florendo y Bonifacio in 1870. There are six distinct bedrooms that are fully styled and filled with antique furniture seen only in big colonial houses.
This was a mind blowing experience, to be able to dine and sleep in this amazing heritage house!

Thanks for showing the cultural house. Im a Filipino but I havnt even gone there. Now I now so when I go home to Phils I will definitely visit those houses too.
Typical old Spanish colonial house in the Philippines: Main house area is really on the Upper floor (typically made of hard wood). That's why you have that big/wide staircase, because it actually is the main entrance to the house. The ground floor (typically made of stone like adobe) is where the entry way from the street is, for people and for horses and calezas (carriages). The rooms on the lower floor usually are stables for horses and storage rooms for wood, poultry and other agricultural products (wine cellar and rice granary, in this case).
Whoa! This is very interesting! I'm a Filipino yet never thought we have something like this in our country. It's very educational and informative though.

Vigan is one of the old places in the Philippines, just like Intramuros where the Spaniards or Filipino/Spanish rich people settled during the olden days. During our visit there in the 80's we stayed at the newly opened Fort Ilocandia Hotel, which had sand dunes in the back (so lovely).
I really enjoyed my tour of Ilocos then.
And dating back to the old settlement, my mom and her parents used to live in a big house in Intramuros, Manila along Calle Real (Real Street) which my grandparents sold when they settled in Pampanga, just before the war.
What nostalgia!

You're lucky to witnessed and experienced this piece of Spanish and Filipino history. I've never been to this place but this is really amazing to see even if it's only here in RUclips. Man, I think it's amazing how you guys, Finn, Leblanc, Fumiya Sankai, TheTravelingClatt, and all the other underrated vloggers come to love our country. I don't think you guys know that you are more filipinos than most filipinos in the city. The provinces are always the best way to experience the country because they are away from the corporate materialistic society we have today. Even Sandara Park's vlog about the Philippines just shows how much she loves the country even though she is korean and became a kpop star.

You will appreciate that place more Basel if you know what are those antiques there and if you know the philippine history. Vigan is full of history. I am not from there but vigan show cases the spanish time by just looking at the old houses and churches.

Truly antique house..i remember we used that kalan-(mud-stove) on old times in province...along that water jug (made of mud)..water is so cold even in summer.thanks basel

The house is so beautiful. It has lots of character. Old Spanish style house is indeed bright and airy. So nice that they preserve and take very good care of it. The lady said about one of the rooms downstairs was the rice granary? Must be the storage room where they keep rice and other food items.

In Manila, there are also old houses/buildings like Casa Manila, Galleria de las Islas and near it a classy restaurant, "Ilustrados" that serves dlectable, authentic dishes. They're worth visiting too, Basel.

Hi thanks for promoting one of the Philippine heritage home. I read the book "Dear World." A Syrian girl caught in the middle of war in Syria. Very moving and heart wrenching experience in the middle of war. I guess the same with my country men in Marawi. I hope you took your family to move to Philippines for safety. Great video by the way.
