Galeclaw with swift has been in my party since I I unlocked the galeclaw glove. Glide by shootings, quick escapes, redonculus glide distance. I was amazed at how long it took some creator to make a video on it.
I never thought about this but what happens if you have 2 glider pals in your party ... Like galeclaw being one but then that other pal glider that gives you lift when you use it
Same here! I caught a galeclaw with Swift, and it's been in my party ever since. It was actually my first lvl 50 pal lol. The movement it unlocks is just too good to pass up.
From datamined info Increasing galeclaw's partner skill increases the base movespeed while gliding (from stationary), decreases the stamina drain, and decreases falling speed.
I might have to start leveling my stamina because gliders use your stamina, not the pal's. A combination of a decent amount of stamina and a leveled up glider pal for reduced stamina consumption should let you cover much greater distance
Abilities like runner or swift actually don't increase glide distance. Someone posted a video showing it. But he's currently working on seeing if abilities that increases player movement speed increases glide speed because gliding uses the players stamina, where as using a pal as a mount uses the pals stamina and runner/swift would increase the mounts speed. Just a helpful tip I found
grapple hook + hangyu = infinite flight hook slingshots you like in apex/titanfall and using that momentum use the glider swap like gale but hangyu instead- it's special gives you vertical lift, so every glider swap = regain your lost altitude
Yer for general exploration Hangyu is basically the best. But there is something to say for Galeclaw with not needing any fancy tricks. You just click and go. Which makes general use as well as use during fights to dodge much better. Also the ability to shoot while gliding is really good. So it depends what you want. Personally I use Galeclaw just because it means I don't need to switch to my grapple gun whenever I want to move a bit. But Hangyu is certainly just as good just for different uses.
From the moment I caught my first galeclaw and crafted his gloves for his glider ability he has not left my party, except to get swapped out for a lucky version I found. I love galeclaws glider and it’s just become integral to how I play. Even with Jetragon and a bred full speed direhowl I still use galeclaw all the time. It’s perfect for short distance burst of movement because it can be used on flat ground and it’s better for dodging than rolling in some boss fights. Very worth the slot for the utility and there’s a trick with the grappling hook cancel into gliding that can send you flying nearly as fast or even faster than jetragon
Coming back to comment again after testing this. This vid is legit. Glider pals are incredible and will change the entire game for you. Thanks so much for this tip.
I can't move around Palworld without this Pal, that's how ingrained in me Galeclaw movement is. The way it comes in with momentum already is awesome. Now in ultra late game when I really need the 5th party slot, I feel like I'm missing an arm. Great Pal
a hangyu + a mega grappling gun is by far the best way to travel huge distances quickly. just press ctrl and space towards the end of a grapple on the ground and you will go incredibly fast.
There are two ways to get around losing altitude. 1) leveling him up. 2) continuously cancelling the glide and restarting it will maintain your altitude.
@@Spookypops Hangyu gains altitude every time you do that. As long as you can get the momentum using either a slide, or better yet a slingshot cancel, it's the fastest way to move around the map by far.

I’m a big fan of Hangyu. It doesn’t have the speed benefits of Galeclaw but you can actually get massive height with it. You can also run down a slope, slide, and then jump into a glide to get good speed. Galeclaw definitely has more utility for combat but hangyu has its own niche.
Swift and Runner don't affect galeclaw's gliding speed, but condensing it and thus levelling up it's partner skill does, it also reduces it's stamina usage.
I found that passives like runner and swift did not enhance galeclaw as a glider, you would be better off using skills that enhance the player like vanguard, stronghold strategist and Motivational Leader are all great skills to have instead. The only way to enhance Galeclaws glider ability is through Pal Condensation.
@@SuperCatacata someone on Reddit said that all skills that apply passives (not skills) to the player work when the pal isn’t out. Don’t know if it’s true so take that how you will.
@CommandoBlack123 How is that true when skills that apply certain type of damages like fire with Wixen or ground with Anubis doesnt work unless they are out? Im calling cap unless there is a video proving it.
Yep, been using a Galeclaw to glide ever since the first time I tried it. I just laughed at how weak the glider is by comparison. And gliding low over the ground as a dodge is soooo satisfying.
You don't actually need glider pals to extend flight time as flyer pals will start recovering stamina when you jump off. Just pop your regular glider for a few seconds and call your flyer back. You can still do this with glider pals of course but their improved speed can make your flyer miss you. That said, glider pals are still great for getting around terrain flyers would be cumbersome in, and they are much safer to use in very hostile areas where wild mobs might kill you/aggro your flyer.
Once you get used to using galeclaw its really hard to go back to not using him. I've decided to try and utilize him best I can by making him a full support pal, stacking traits like Vanguard and stronghold strategist and then mixing that with health skills like burly body and masochist with a decent health and defence IV and CC skills to turn him into a sort of tank decoy that i can also use for catching pals (because foxsparks and grizbolt keep one shotting everything).
tbf i find having 2 utility pals is ideal. utility meaning mounted ones like runners or flyers, while glider pals are great and i see their usefulness... they just... do not help much in combat, they can deal damage and usually deal okay damage but they are definitely not gonna be your main fighters. i found more use using a ground mount with swift/runner in fights like rayhound. while yes this does limit your total damage because your pal isn't dealing damage while you're sprinting around... i found this useful for catching pals mainly. like that one pal that hits like a truck but you can't be standing still or he'll nuke you and he'd be like 1% hp so using pal is a big no cuz ya don't want him to die. and with a ground mount you have so much freedom to dash behind them to catch it or avoid attacks.
Just a quick thing from what I have read and as far as my own personal tests have shown, movement speed traits doesn't effect the speed of gliding at all. Instead it is based on the speed of the player. For example if you use the grapple gun, shoot at a spot on the ground and just before landing swap weapons or dodge then deploy your glider you will be going much much faster. This technically makes Hangyu the best due to it rising up. Allowing you to cover absolutely insane distances. But it requires setup and you lose the ability to use your weapon while gliding. Galeclaw seems to have some kind of minimum speed/speed boost to a certain speed when deployed. Which means that even when deployed from standing still, you will still move quickly. While the others are nearly purely based on the players momentum prior to being deployed. But obviously Galeclaw's speed boost doesn't matter if you were moving faster than that before deploying. Such as using the grapple launch. That said Galeclaw is still best for not needing any fancy tricks or setup. It is just click and go.
So here's the thing, I am certain that either passive skill traits OR leveling up a gliding pal boosts gliding speed. So I don't know where that fits in your testing, but I am 100% sure of this fact based on my own testing. I can post a short about it later.
There is excellent misconception going around gliders. Yes, they do use SHIT ton of stamina, but speed IS GREATER than anything in the game. The issue is that they maintain your speed from before. Use it with grappling hook boost or SLIDE speed (which is 2x ms, I presume) and enjoy EXTREME momentum. It was for a short time, though, due to steam usage.
Yeah the level up is definitely the way to go. Do the max and then pick some really good skill fruits for him. Breeding for swift, runner, burly and legend before turning your Galeclaw army into smoothie should net you a combat monster that rivals legendary beasts. Pick the strongest attacks! It takes 5, 16, 32, 64, and then 138 so you need a lot of Galeclaws but that lets you find all the traits you need for breeding on the way. I’ve seen this done with frigging Lambball and other “useless” Pals. Worth the effort imho
How does Galeclaw compare to Celeray? I've been using Celeray this whole time, for its speed boost. Does Galeclaw have any advantage other than letting you shoot while gliding?
@@TheRGamerz I have tested... and my basic lv 1 Galeclaw is already notably faster than my level 33 Celeray with a 2nd level skill. The Celeray also has Swift, but I don't think that actually does anything, here.
Have not tested personally but it directly levels the ability i'm pretty sure, so in some form it would make him faster or reduce stamina usage when condensing
I absolutely love my galeclaw. I never thought to use it off a flying mount but I often use it instead of a ground mount since you can great short bursts of speed when there's no incline.
Just a warning to those ready to sink in a few hours breeding... Having movement speed passives and leveling Galeclaw to 4 star does NOT make you glide faster. Ive already tested it out extensively. Leveling them up to 4 stars does however make the stamina drain slower.
Wait, I can certainly say this is not true. My galeclaw is faster than other galeclaws 100%. So either leveling him up makes him faster or my runner ability makes him faster. Either way, I can say with 100% certainty my galeclaw is faster than a nonleveled galeclaw without runner/swift.
Thats absolutely not true on the gamepass version. I have a 4 star Galeclaw with swift, runner, and nimble. I gave my buddy a galeclaw with no passives, we both jumped off the same ledge and he followed me around at the same exact speed. Did this for over 30 mins because i saw a reddit post stating the same thing you're saying.
My galeclaw has mineforeman , his gliding is more than effective without needing a speed trait. The moment i caught him and then unlocked galeclaws sattle, i instantly knew he had a permanent slot in my team which is why i searched for a galeclaw with a mining trait. I have also leveled him to level 3 in the pal condenser but it has very little difference compared to level 2.. im going to catch and additional 64 galeclaws condense him once more to see if there is in fact a difference or if leveling him past level 2 is a total waste of time and resources.
there's also a bug that let's you equip an extra armor set in your glider slot... that makes having a glider in your party very worth it alone if you don't mind using bugs
Actually the op mount goes to vanwyrm and suzaku believe it or not, having the ability to fly in general is a major plus but vanwyrm's ability gives you more damage to ranged while mounted meaning you can just pick everything off below you with a musket or crossbow and you'll have more damage on both and suzaku just has a lot more stamina (some may prefer speed but while jetragon will let you span half the map in minutes, suzaku let's you explore the whole map for hours on end. I have literally gone from the bottom of the map to the top and back and then could've made a second run if I didn't need more spheres or ammo and that's without any beneficial passive).
3:50 I got all 3 of the move speed passives on my galeclaw (Nimble, Runner and Swift) and it doesn't seem to make it any faster honestly, a 60% overall increase should definitely be noticeable but it doesn't feel like it is but I could be wrong. If they do though ideally running all 3 move speed ones and then Stronghold Strategist for the defense is probably the best.
They dont increase glide speed, only the pals move speed. I commented on it a bit ago trying to save people time with unnecessary breeding. Wish it worked that way :(
I came just to find this comment. I didn't notice any speed, but I was really not sure since the glider can get different speeds depending on what you were doing.
Just saying using a grapple hook/slide to gain speed plus a hangyu to gain altitude, you can easily travel 1/4-1/3 the map with one glide if done properly. Also, if done well, you will achieve jetdragon speeds. I find that continuously activating and deactivating the hangyu glider will help preserve your stamina while still maintaining the speed gained via a grapple hook/slide Edit: I just found this great, less than a minute long video of someone demonstrating this. Here it is ruclips.net/video/l5n-cMLXvL4/видео.htmlsi=S0dlej5DHxaUZ9ao
I'll keep my 3x Wumpo Botan/Gobfin (Vanguard, Stronghold +220 Carry weight/15% ATK each) 1x Combat Pal, 1x Suzaku. The real tip is to have people start breeding and build up your 3 pairs of Worker, Speed, Combat breed base pals of either genders.
I tested 2 galeclaws with time and distance, one with swift (+30% speed) and one without any speed passive. Both are exactly the same with distance and speed.
False. Having movement speed passives and leveling them to 4 star does NOT make you glide faster. Ive already tested it out extensively. Leveling them up to 4 stars does however make the stamina drain slower.
@@JohnDoe-mm1tq if that's true then the ideal galeclaw would have Vanguard , Stronghold strategist and mining + working efficiency passives ? since they affect the player when in party

Galeclaw is nice for fights but killamari is still top tier. You can get more speed with slide/grapple than with galeclaw and you can use grapple tech in fights to gain height AND speed. Only thing you give up is your ability to shoot. Galeclaw IS easier to do all this stuff without the extra steps though I will give it that.
Movement Speed passive skills DO NOT make galeclaw faster as a glider. Gliding galeclaw functions as a unique temporary item, and is not affected by the galeclaw's stats in any way, only by the Partner Skill level.
Damn thats kind of sad. The second I got galeclaw and tried him out I was blown away with how strong the glide is. Which made me super excited cause I expected there to be an even better one later on. But I guess that isn't the case. Pretty disappointing we hid the cap so early in gliders.
Galeclaw passive dont increase his flying movement speed, so runner and etc.. doesnt make any difference, you should probably focus on some player bonus passives. Also increasing his rank increases his base movement speed from 1000 up to 1700, thats the only way to increase ur gliding spd with him.
Galeclaw is not secretly OP, it's all around on-the-face OP. I got my galeclaw to 4* and its so good to glide on and shoot/throw balls, it's much easier to capture self-destruct pals by gliding back and tossing the ball from the glider. I got my Galeclaw with both Runner and Swift from breeding parents with those traits Tocotoco and Mossanda are 2 other underrated Pals, they're my go-to solution to defending my base against raids, their AoE power is just insane when you condensate them, and you can reload their active skills by dropping and re-grabbing them. I have plenty of time to regrab my Pals since I built walls that impede the raiding monsters from leaving their "move into to the base, ignore everything else" mode
I use galeclaw for movement purposes. For combat they aren't good. I got a shiny galeclaw, it can only do some good damage when it uses the shiny beam attack, but it has a very long cooldown, and his other attacks does very little damage. It also dies pretty quickly. For comparisson, i have a beakon in my team that's 5 levels below my shiny galeclaw, and it performs way better in combat than the galeclaw.
You didnt touch the most important aspect of galeclaw, glide after a slide boost! Also you can have up to 75% movement speed. But 50% is more realistic
When I first started the game I kept one of those early game purple floating pals as a personal glider which I got some use out of before I got a flying pal. Since then tho I learned about the sliding and then gliding tech but I dont really use that much albeit looks useful especially with a pal like you showcased in this vid. I've yet to seriously tackle any of the late game pals / the 3 hardest towers, but I've got a Ragnahawk who is a fast flyer and that pal alone seems fast enough to dodge attacks and run circles around bosses; just gotta put faster attacks on him and jump right before I use the attack so my Pal keeps momentum in the air while attacking and can keep moving that way. Maybe tho for some of those tougher fights Galeclaw's speed will be needed to reliably dodge and counter attack.

Have not tested personally but it directly levels the ability i'm pretty sure, so in some form it would make him faster or reduce stamina usage when condensing
Yes, that's what it seems to me as wel.
why did you start cindensing before breeding for swift +runner
@@Spookypops
@@impatientimp3292 because they dont actually effect the speed
I absolutely love my galeclaw. I never thought to use it off a flying mount but I often use it instead of a ground mount since you can great short bursts of speed when there's no incline.
Just a warning to those ready to sink in a few hours breeding... Having movement speed passives and leveling Galeclaw to 4 star does NOT make you glide faster. Ive already tested it out extensively. Leveling them up to 4 stars does however make the stamina drain slower.
I play on xbox/gamepass so i cant speak for the steam version, but i would assume its the same.
The galeclaw i let my buddy use was also 0 star to clarify. Same glide speed regardless.
Galeclaw is fastest no doubt, but Killimari goes the furthest, and Hangyu has the unique ability of gliding upwards.
I made a galeclaw with legend+swift+runner+ (the other speed one) = 75% movement speed. Now im upgrading him in the condenser
I've been considering making my galeclaw eat all the skill fruits
I have a shiny, and she is by far my best pal over. Fighting/usage/ base.
Is this bug new? I had no idea lol
@@Spookypops They patched it out in the recent update.
Me breeding my galeclaw until it has both swift, runner and nimble:
Been using regular glider was not sure how good pet gliders were this showcase is insane I will have to get asap thx
Someone's double stacking armor, mr T pose xD
Wish it worked that way :(
@@JohnDoe-mm1tq Yeah if anything the best stats to roll on it is gonna be things that directly buff you by having them in the party as a support pal.
I came just to find this comment. I didn't notice any speed, but I was really not sure since the glider can get different speeds depending on what you were doing.
What about infinite stamina?
Just saying using a grapple hook/slide to gain speed plus a hangyu to gain altitude, you can easily travel 1/4-1/3 the map with one glide if done properly. Also, if done well, you will achieve jetdragon speeds. I find that continuously activating and deactivating the hangyu glider will help preserve your stamina while still maintaining the speed gained via a grapple hook/slide
Edit: I just found this great, less than a minute long video of someone demonstrating this. Here it is ruclips.net/video/l5n-cMLXvL4/видео.htmlsi=S0dlej5DHxaUZ9ao
As someone who spends his time mostly capturing all alpha pals, i don't have space for a galeclaw, all of my pals are boss killers
Agreed, breeded pals will always have better passive skills if you hit the right combos.
Wish I found that out before level 50, guess I'll use that in another playtrough
I tested 2 galeclaws with time and distance, one with swift (+30% speed) and one without any speed passive. Both are exactly the same with distance and speed.
Yeah, if you level him up, the gliding receives a speed boost (I’m fairly confident). The passive skills unfortunately don’t do anything. :(
yes condensing works. but it also lvl's up galeclaws ability "galeclaw rider" you want that. make you go more zoom zoom
Lmao I should try this, I literally jump glide everywhere around base
When noobs were debating if direwolf or ekthyrdeer were faster I was already subscribed to celaray/galeclaw supremacy. Kneel.
Also dont forget slide jumping into gliding you get mad speed
Thank you ive been overlooking him this whole time. You got a sub.
can confirm, leveling your galeclaw make the glide even faster!
False. Having movement speed passives and leveling them to 4 star does NOT make you glide faster. Ive already tested it out extensively. Leveling them up to 4 stars does however make the stamina drain slower.
@@JohnDoe-mm1tq least it preserves momentum like other gliders so you can get super fast
@@JohnDoe-mm1tq also kinda sad ngl
@@JohnDoe-mm1tq if that's true then the ideal galeclaw would have Vanguard , Stronghold strategist and mining + working efficiency passives ? since they affect the player when in party
@@JohnDoe-mm1tq datamining has shown the partner skill level affects speed, stamina and drop from multiple sources
passives and level does nothing
it's worth noting that the extra speed is "capped", you don't get extra speed if you're already traveling faster than the extra speed through momentum, probably what falsified your test results, test from stationary to see the extra speed
Pocketpair does have a gameplay fighting against Hangyu. They used Galeclaw to maneuver whilst using a gun.
Can confirm. galeclaw best pal. didnt think to pair with runner, im so excited to zoom around lol
Breed it for max speed xD
Runner
Swift
Nimble
And I forget the last one but lel
@@toukoenriaze9870 Legend
I have a Legend, Runner, Nimble Swift Gale at max and it's the best thing in the game only wish it was a lucky but sadly the size doesn't transfer
I'm pretty sure someone else put out a video on day 1 release about this ^^
I'm using Galeclaw since I saw the first video I saw about that.
There's acertain glitch out right now which makes Galeclaw even better as a glider
Kilamari Kite is also fucking OP af, Its so good i never tried the celeray or galeclaw.
U have my attention ill look into this and get back at u (Thought the pal wasnt that good till i saw this)
OK i tested Holy the difference in movement and such. i didnt even get 1 that had movement+ just wow. Thanks for the info.
You missed the most important one! Cancelling grapple hook at the right time and gliding can give you enough speed to outpace any flying mount
I found that it’s still really buggy but yes, it is super fast. I think jetragon will be faster though
If you run out of stamina shoot the ground with grapple hook to negate fall damage. YW
Galeclaw seems cool and all, I just wish it had a more appealing design to me.
Yup, once i got him i stopped using running mount. I travel like this too.
It doesn't fit my electric themed team but i can't play without him, i feel so slow ...
Movement Speed passive skills DO NOT make galeclaw faster as a glider. Gliding galeclaw functions as a unique temporary item, and is not affected by the galeclaw's stats in any way, only by the Partner Skill level.
he is op. tested. worth the slot
Galeclaw reigns supreme
Damn thats kind of sad. The second I got galeclaw and tried him out I was blown away with how strong the glide is. Which made me super excited cause I expected there to be an even better one later on. But I guess that isn't the case. Pretty disappointing we hid the cap so early in gliders.
Agreed, I expected there to be a faster glider later in the tech tree
I'm sure someone already commented this but do you know sliding down a hill and gliding gets you super far also.
Yup! It’s a good trick
I prefer Hangyu myself, it's certainly not fast on its own, but with a little movement tech you can get it up to pretty high speeds.
Currently breeding one with Legendary, Swift, Runner & Nimble.
Datamined info shows passive skills don’t boost movement speed :( go for passive skills that increase your own stats!
@@Spookypops maybe it's a placebo but It definitely felt faster:(
thats what I thought too LOL but everyone is now commenting saying “don’t spread misinfo bro” lol
Galeclaw is my boy! Love me some galeclaw. True, he can't fight for shit
is this item now totally bugged to not do anything at all? its skill is greyed out with no key to push
You can slide cancel to retain speed while gliding and get around really fast. Just slide down a tiny incline, jump, then glide.
One thing i use is use combination with the reel gun and gale claw it basically catapult u id u execute it perfectly and faster too
im a huge fan of killamari as a glider. if you use the sliding tech with gliding you can cover so much ground.
You can use lifmunks ability while gliding
Just add momentum from graple or slide and galeclaw becomes better than flying (:
Galeclaw passive dont increase his flying movement speed, so runner and etc.. doesnt make any difference, you should probably focus on some player bonus passives.
Also increasing his rank increases his base movement speed from 1000 up to 1700, thats the only way to increase ur gliding spd with him.
doesnt matter just caught a sleeping jetragon. no more gliding only zooming
I’ve always wanted to do that, lucky!!
I used Celaray instead, and didn't bother making a glider
Galeclaw is not secretly OP, it's all around on-the-face OP. I got my galeclaw to 4* and its so good to glide on and shoot/throw balls, it's much easier to capture self-destruct pals by gliding back and tossing the ball from the glider.
I got my Galeclaw with both Runner and Swift from breeding parents with those traits
Tocotoco and Mossanda are 2 other underrated Pals, they're my go-to solution to defending my base against raids, their AoE power is just insane when you condensate them, and you can reload their active skills by dropping and re-grabbing them. I have plenty of time to regrab my Pals since I built walls that impede the raiding monsters from leaving their "move into to the base, ignore everything else" mode
Great tip broooo!!!
I use galeclaw for movement purposes. For combat they aren't good. I got a shiny galeclaw, it can only do some good damage when it uses the shiny beam attack, but it has a very long cooldown, and his other attacks does very little damage. It also dies pretty quickly.
For comparisson, i have a beakon in my team that's 5 levels below my shiny galeclaw, and it performs way better in combat than the galeclaw.
ok but what if stamina isnt a problem
3:10 it's so op you got T post.
Unfortunately I don’t think swift or other speed traits apply to glider pals
I’ve been told, but they seem faster to me. Maybe I’m biased to think they are faster though. Leveling the pal definitely helps though!
Ah yes the US Pal. Freedom!
