I'm 88yrs old and have always loved the old straight 8. The first Buick I can remember fondly was my father's 1935 convertible with a rumble seat. I've worked on most of them up to the a 1967 LeSabre with 340 cid high compression, which was a great running car, and also had a 1971 Electra 225, with the 455. My first Buick was a 1940 super 4 door with a 263 cid straight 8 out of a 1953 special. Drove it from Peoria Illinois to Tucson Az in September of 1954, pulling a 28' house trailer....the old girl ran great with no problems....I also owned a 1949 super 2 door with the dynaflow transmission, it wasn't a head snapper but it was a good running automobile. Good luck on your restoration of the 1952.
...In 1961 I bought my very first car from a dealership in Concord NC. It was a 1951 Buick like this one BUT in Perfect Shape ...$250 Bucks! ... Love That Car!

I love hearing about how capable the old cars were. I feel sometimes people get in their heads that they are so fragile and that is not the truth.
You are so lucky,to have that "work-of-Art"-Buick,--they are real Americana,-& so beautiful-I hope she is in safe hands--
Thank you very much, and I will keep her as safe as I can.
There's nothing like the sound of those old Buick straight-8s. Nothing.
