Hey Greeny... I did twenty years in the US MILITARY and retired in Pattaya in 2002. I was 38. I encourage everyone to retire early if they can. The system is backwards. You should enjoy the first part of your life as much as possible. I've been watching your channel since you first started vlogging. In thailand.
I graduated from Ferris State University in 94' (worked for a while at Ames department store. Remember that?) and worked for 30 years as an engineer in Southwest Michigan. Ironically, I spent my entire career designing washers and dryers which was another topic in this video. Haha. I'm off to Thailand in a couple of months for motor biking! Thanks for the inspiration!
Great for you. I retired about the same age and briefly fancied moving to Thailand after a few trips. That idea waned in time as I'm fine remaining in America. Love my community and remaining here, it's easier to travel to destinations I want to tap. My love for Thailand remains and that fix is settled with a trip there, though I'll likely skip it in 2025.
Would you please do an episode on the current state of Pattaya, Jomtien, Na Jomtien real estate market (house, condo, land)? Would be interesting to know your research and perspective as you were a real estate agent back in US.

I retired 22 years ago at 45 in the US. My total spend has averaged $592.04/mo the past 21 months. My house has appreciated almost $2000/mo for 15 years. It's more about the spending and enjoying a simple life than about the money. I plan to move to SE Asia next year. Sell my Phoenix house and take SS so $500-550k cash and about $6000/mo income. My spending will increase a lot because apples to apples I'll have to. To me living in the US is cheaper, easier. But things are going to change for me. I'm moving to SE Asia to prepare for extreme old age. Labor is what's cheap there. Great long term retirement homes in SE Asia. I can move in while healthy for $1000/mo rent into a 1-2 bed apartment or villa. I can travel and do whatever, even have a woman move in with me. Then when/if I need more help the resort can provide that up to a 24/7 private nurse, meals, transportation, etc... topping out at about $5000-6000/mo. That's way better care I can get in the US at any price.
How much is one month to live for you in Thailand? Just average all costs food room etc. Its a good country I think to retire. Sea, weather, people... Here I pay 500eur for food, 250eur for my flat monthly. So minimum is 750eur. Plus all costs more. So some 1000eur per month total. Is it cheaper there in Thailand?

Getting ready to retire in a few months... Never imagined I would be making 5 figures a month retired as a Deputy Sheriff.... 50 years old and out... This year with overtime will be almost at 700k salary ... Last Sheriff never hired enough people and was saving money for god knows what... Down bodies year after year... Mis management ... But thanks to him, and his inept Management, I was able to make this amount of money on Double time.... Got to love California 😁😁😁
Double time. Love that.
@ Yep, 6 months worth… I work 16 hour days 7 days a week… tell all the new guys, don’t get married and have kids … wait till you retire lol… keeps the pension intact
Lol...700k as an employee?....the taxman loves you

$6.32 for that sandwich of everyday brown bag quality......Thailand is not what it seems.
Under 4 bucks. Fresh grilled chicken and bacon. Would be double in the US. Good like finding a fresh pineapple smoothie like that too. 6 something was the total with tip
@@GreenyTravels Oh, I see. Thanks for the correction Greeny. God bless!

@@GreenyTravels whats happen?
@@GreenyTravelsYeah greeny. We are still waiting for that vlog lol
So young? You look over 65 yrs old….young would be under 55, family who can’t manage money daily their kids - so many issues, mom was a book keeper and crappy with money? wtf how do people get jobs in the USA?
50+ isnt a young age.
I actually really retired from my career at 46 but had to dick around till my kids went to college
And I would say 50 is a relatively young age to retire
50 is NOT "young". I could have retired with full pension at 37, now THAT was young.
Why didn’t you?
@@GreenyTravels i did not stay in the full 20 yrs.
50 is young to me.
WS
oh you think your young hahahaha.nice
You’re. Like you are
You dont look that young.....
I didn’t retire now. I was talking in past tense so I was younger then.
@GreenyTravels makes sense... hahaha 🤣🤣🤣
