I got my 13’ Honda Recon 250 up to 50 once down a steep hill. Was all over the rev limiter though! Same drivetrain as a 250ex, and still surprisingly quick with the extra weight!
I’ve always hated people saying how fast their version of the quad goes mostly because each is slightly different but not so much that one of these things go 60+. But i did just happen to get one and have road a straight away alongside a brute force 300 and he said he was pinned at 46 mph and i had gained about a quarter mile on him in rather quickly time so i think these do go a little faster than 49 imo. Edit: mine is upgraded tho with a full exhaust and k&n air filter.
@@cwoutdoors4522 Im guessing you got 20 inch rear tires on it? Stock is 22 so that lowers your gearing a bit but more snappy on low end. Thetes a guy names Steve Smith on RUclips that built a 250ex for his wife and he got almost 60 mph out of it and hes at 4000 foot elevation to.
Like I said, 55 is the max a 250 will ever go, he’s clearly going downhill and if he were flat 55 would be all it could do. Him being 4000 above sea level doesn’t mean a thing if he’s already compensated with different jetting
Do you think they are a good trail bike? I want to get something with some power but not to much and would it be good on small hill climbs? Also maybe sand dunes and sand pits? I’m think about picking up a 2023
What year is that x cuz God damn I hit 54 miles an hour on my first gen 250X 87and all I did was put a slip on pipe on it no jet never been rebuilt all original except for exhaust pipe still running stock header
@@cwoutdoors4522 not really my 300EX revs a lot higher than the 250X what has more torque and power but advancements in technology should make things faster and better and more efficient in the in the 90s the 2-stroke would kill a 4-stroke until like almost 2,000 then they switched everything
The 250ex is a pushrod motor and the 250x is ohc completely different engines. The 300ex is the same engine as the 250x with better cam and valve springs and slightly bigger stroke. They are essentially the same quad. 300ex is just a rebrand that’s updated with different plastic.
I have a 2005 250ex that’s bored out to a 300 but before I bored it out I did the speed app deal on it and hit 55 stock but after I bored it out it’ll fun about 60 it woke up torque wise but speed not really

Yessir in a couple of weeks we are going to be comparing a recon vs the 250ex head to head! Stay tuned!
Love the honda 250 ex 2003

Mine has a pipe and I just recently rejetted after that video was made. I plan on doing another run with that mod and see where I’m at🤷🏼♂️
But unless you change gearing there is no way a 250ex can go over 55. It’s just never going to happen

Yeah I gotta 2007, spits flames at 3rd gear. Every now and then, I’ll touch the rev limiter😂
I have a 2005 TRX250EX SPORTRRAX

2004. The old school 250x are much faster and quicker machines than the modern ones. Your old 250x is a more comparable machine to that of a 300ex

@@cwoutdoors4522 but if I had the money to build up my 300EX I'm sure I'd get it to about 70 miles an hour if I had about three grand to throw into it

For sure, those engines have a lot of potential
I have this exact four weeler and its been sitting for 2 years and wont start wondering if you knew a reason or new a way to start it up
If it cranks over, I’d check carburetor that’s most like the reason, clean it out good. If it won’t crank check battery and cables
I like Honda 250ex
Honda 2003 250ex top speed 48millas por hora 8.1.21
What app did u use?
Just the first one I found lol
I have one like this, did u tjink i can do a motor flush??
Not sure what you mean by motor flush as there is only engine oil inside, but they are very easy motors to tear down and inspect!
I have the same kind of model, mine went 55 on a gravel road
How do I put it in reverse
Push the reverse button down first then pull the front break shift down you are in reverse for the 2004.

How did you bore it out too 300ccs my 04 is bored too 251 I'm curious know 🤔
8.1.21
Mines went 54
Use the clutch lol
There isn’t one on these models
I was so confused 😂
there is no clutch
On these it's a electric shift auto clutch
Bro I hit 59 on that thing before
I got my 2003 recon up to 49
Got mine up to 56 hitting rev limiter
Got my 02 recon to 45 flat ground. Only mod is a bigger jet
@@garretth0707 maybe mine had a pretty good tune up. Sometime carbureted machines are like that
