I have this camera it really is tough, i take mine hikeing/tramping once we went through this cave and i lost it underwater, found it, picked it up and just started useing it again like nothing ever happened. They really do live up to their name and they also take wonderful photos. The quality of Panasonic cameras is so high.
i was looking for waterproof cameras for kayaking last year and got first a vivitar of some sort, good to 10 feet down but still let water in slightly... and i then ended up with a gopro HD hero. 1080p hidg def video, wide angle lens, replaceable housing, and a massive number of different mounts. have a look on their youtube channel and see why gopro are soooo good
Does this cam really feature 60fps? Seems to in the highspeed recording at the very beginning
Revolutionary, seeing Olympus has been doing this since 2004? I know I had one then and have ahd a few since then.
Not so good if one of the kids leaves the battery door open and jumps in the pool with it. (verified experimentally)
Nothing's totally indestructible :(
great review
has anyone every taken pictures with this camera underwater ?
I'm impressed with the video on my DMC-TS1 but very disappointed in the quality of the still images. I feel reviewers are downplaying the significant image issues on account of the ruggedization feature, but to me the still images are not good at all. Specifically the entire right hand side is soft, and the image is hugely noisy.
thanks
its also avalible in blue
Is it possible to charge this camera directly from a USB port? Without the need of an external charger?
in other videos zhey say you can go underwater to 3m and let it drop from 1.5 meters
i wish it came in black
hey, where it says 12 megapixels on the back of the camera isnt highlighted in black on mine, lol
@DreadlockDrummer i have it in black?..........
does your zoom button get stuck?
@fervenezuela THX 4 your info, guapa. I won't buy it now and get a Leica V LUX 20 and stay away from water. I guess I can't go wrong with Leica and they keep some of their value. My buying slogan is: "safe just a bit longer and get tops". Hasta Chocopasta.
@mudersville
Im planning to buy this1 and i'd recommend checking some professional reviews, or just visit the panasonic home page and look at reviews there.
Cheers.
Mình muốn mua bin loại máy anh này
@mudersville I have check out my channel i have some tests of it
The whole right side on mine is soft and in spite of proof Panasonic will not do anything about it, they say it looks fine to them. Not a good company or product IMO. Not worth going to court over a $500 camera.
everyone is like AVHD lite is so awesome yes it looks good but its absolute crap it is loked you cant upload it to youtube in HQ nor can you realy use editing sofware on it i have been using motion jpeg rather than AVHD lite
@isleofyew1 SAVE, sorry
DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA
False advertising! This camera lets in water. I am not a satisfied customer at all. Now my camera is probably broken due to this design fault. It's a waste of my money and I will NEVER buy Panasonic again.
