For the 9 emblem house he gets the lines to line up by using the x and y axis. When you are creating an emblem wherever you move the object there is a longitude-latitude like effect. For example if in one of the nine emblems he placed a straight vertical line at the x=100 and y=-50 depending on the length of the line, the line would be in the bottom right if you put on the grid. True it would take nearly forever but lining up the lines isn't as hard as it seems
