- The Murder of Sonic The Hedgehog is an official Sonic game released for April Fools Day. At Amy's birthday party, a murder mystery party goes wrong when Sonic ends up actually being hurt, but how'd it happen? While The Murder of Sonic The Hedgehog is a clear outlier in SEGA's Sonic franchise, it also delivers one of the best Sonic experiences so far.
The Murder of Sonic The Hedgehog is a visual novel murder mystery, something the Sonic series has never really done before. You play as a newcomer alongside Detective Tails, going from train car to train car and investigating what happened to Sonic. The game is filled with easter eggs, familiar faces, and a surprisingly fun story that keeps you guessing!

I loved this game so much, it felt like there was a lot of love put into this, it was cute, funny at times, pretty straightforward, the mini-games are fun. AND THE CHARACTERS ARE AMAZINGLY WRITTEN IN THIS. I loved it so much. I enjoyed they actually put that shadow has a soft side and isnt a total douche, Knuckles is awkward as ever. Vector is fun, I loved Espio's little poems. The plot twists suprised me too, i never expected for what happened. This game will have a special place in my heart for sure.
Also gave us some interactions we have never seen before. Like how Rouge and Blaze spent almost the entire game together.

I love the visual novel style, the music is amazing, and Detective Tails is the greatest thing ever. I still can't believe Sega actually did this, that they would really make a game where they kill off their golden boy, but I'm so glad they did.

This game really felt like I was playing a story from the IDW comics, and I loved it from start to finish! THIS is why we need the characters to be written well cause looj at this! Look how fun it is to go on an adventure with characters like these! Now imagine this level of writing but with mainline Sonic games! We fortunately had a glimpse of this thanks to Ian Flynn with Frontiers, but now I want the same but with the rest of the main cast!
I am especially glad that we got to see Shadow being nice again instead of being Edgy the hedgy we've been dealing with since Sonic 06.

I actually played this day one and livestreamed it just last night for my viewers. Had a blast with it! I hope we get a sequel someday.

@@ag-13studios51 One feature I like for future entry is perhaps we also get to choose what our character looks like mostly pre-made characters rather then full customization.
@@blackdemonknight I agree with you there. I'm kinda hoping if we get another self-insert Sonic game that we can customize our character. But I can see why our character was pre-made in this game, with some of the cutscenes actually featuring them alongside the characters. It'd be complicated coding to get our customization to match up our appearance in the cutscenes
@@ag-13studios51 Plus even through development for this game started back in 2022 a year's time (give or take) isn't enough time to make that happen for a game meant to be released on April 1st

Sage is actually confirmed to be a Recurring character now! It's so cool to see a new recurring character in the Sonic franchise again. Hopefully we get more extensions to the cast in future games.

I love the art direction for this game. The sprites and overall aesthetic are charming and incredible. My favorite part of it might be the noise effect they gave to the characters, really makes it stand out. Maybe it's because I love visual novels AND detective games, but I absolutely love this game.
I really hope get more one off games like this I really want that Escape Room game idea the characters were talking about at the end of the game

You know as a person who beat this game I honestly I had fun with this game, as fun as Sonic Frontiers, it was challenging, mischievous, there was easter eggs and references and it was mysterious and the final boss was amazing but if you haven't played the game no spoilers.

The train itself is a badnik that interferes with the game to catch Sonic. But it loved the conductor to an unhealthy degree and it’s just a pathetic attempt at keeping what it has. You feel sorry for a rogue ai because what made it rogue in the first place is something we humans can barely cope with in the first place. Impending loss of a friend.
That was the most powerful part of the game for me.
The funniest was Eggman melting down at failure again, with Sage looking as if she’s just getting that she’s going to lose a lot from now on.
I loved that frame with them three together, it was beautiful XD
When I saw the trailer for the game I was like:
"No way sega really read all of the feedbacks"
And when I played the game and saw Rouge I was like:
"OH SH*T THEY REALLY DID READ ALL OF THE FEEDBACKS!"

A sonic mystery game like this is an interesting idea. Really cool.
I really liked that sonic was more of a side character, having the rest of the cast interacting more with eachother is something that is more than welcome in the series.

I played this game yesterday with my friend and we had so much fun! There were a lot of moments where we were laughing our heads off! There isn't really any replay value in this game but since it's free it won't feel like a waste. I'm just impressed this was made into a full game. Short and sweet and great for any Sonic fans!
This is why I love Sonic
The game is super fun and entertaining, i loved how they treated the characters and the ending is great. But the part that for me wins over everything is the final scene with Sage and Metal Sonic, i just loved them🥰🥰

There are a few different paths in the game that don’t change the main ending, but are still super fun to see how each character interacts, the game was originally made as an April fools joke, but it honestly just feels like the next big sonic game

The game’s concept and dialogue reminds me of Sonic in the 2000’s with its mainline and flash games
I’m so happy and glad that the sonic the hedgehog franchise is still going strong and I hope we get a new animated cartoon series somewhere in the future soon
