I personally never subscribed to the idea of "happiness" as a goal. I think happiness is found in fleeting moments, things you experience as time goes on. Being content can and should be a goal. Satisfied, well-fed, peaceful.
I think people just end up in an infinite loop of looking for things to make them “happy” they achieve something but still don’t feel happy and just say they need some other thing to be happy which just breeds never ending chasing of happiness and never think about what they have already achieved and done. Most people don’t realise how good their life is compared to millions of others
Happiness is when I am the best version of myself, knowing that I am proud of who I really am. Being at peace with my inner struggles. Being able to give back to all the people and animals that are in their time of need.
Meaning and purpose is what will truly sustain you through life. Happiness is secondary. Don’t chase happiness chase responsibility. Responsibility for yourself and others in your life. Give yourself a reason to get out of bed on a morning no matter how you feel. This will make your life meaningful and worth living. Happiness is intermittent throughout our lives. We will always have our ups and downs no matter what we do. There is no finish line, its a never ending cycle and that’s the beauty of it.
This is it for me but it’s hard for others to understand because people chase temporary happiness first and run away from responsibility first. Happiness for me is a work in progress and doesn’t happen all the time. Just like Ron said it’s a spark or it can temporary through the days. Being responsible for others is my motivator to get up and hustle for them.
It’s a depressing show but when the topic is happiness or self value it hits DIFFERENT, would love a reaction series but if you watch it in your down time Bojack Horseman would be in your top 5 shows of all time
I feel like the missing component for a lot of people is simply healing. To those in the comments, I urge you to heal. Take back the power that was stolen from you, right the wrongs, slay the demons and open up that Pandora’s box that you’re keeping so tightly closed. You have one life and you deserve it to be beautiful. You deserve to know what it’s like to be free of pain, and every day you’re not healing, you’re carrying on a cycle that you never asked for. If I can convince you to do one thing, it’s heal. Begin. Just by realizing how very broken you are, and how brave you’ve been. That’s the key to the box, turn it. It will hurt for awhile but you know about hurt already. It can’t hurt more but it can hurt less, and it will. If you just start to heal.
I love these sorts of videos Ron! Biggest thing for me lately has been looking at things like “motivation” and “happiness” as words. That’s all they are. I feel like if you assign too much meaning to them, you can start to have a negative mindset from coming up with reasons for lacking them. On a smaller timescale, I pursue peace and how I can maintain that. Looking forward, I aspire to be my own boss one day, but know that that isn’t an end all be all!
Very well said bro. You will be your own boss. But when you get there. What does life look like? You have to create a life you are satisfied with on the ride to that next stop. Then you continue 🚀
the way as described in bushido speaks very similarly about devotion (to ones lord, but in this case, we would apply it to life) how one never reaches perfection, but perfection itself is spending each and every day to improve little by little in the hopes of reaching it knowing you did everything in your ability. In doing so, one can be sure there are no concessions in life. To truly live in the now and be present is all that is asked of an enlightened individual. :D
wow... I was just thinking to myself something very similar a few minutes before this popped up on my feed. It truly is crazy how once you finally achieve that goal you've been working towards everyday single day, non-stop over an over, just grinding for that goal and that goal only, how caught up you get not truly appreciating the experience along the way. I recently experienced this 2 weeks ago when I finally hit one of my main goals that I set for myself in my trading career. I remember saying to myself at one point along the way how I would do anything to reach this goal and how happy I would truly be with myself and the results that I've been working towards, but like you even said in the video it's not about chasing happiness, but experiencing it along the way. Hitting this goal after one whole year, day in and day out, I just sighed... and said "wow I finally did it" and that was it. That was it... That entire year I spent working towards this individual goal just to say "wow I finally did it", yes I am very happy overall but now I'm just itching for more and better and my mind simply just grazed over what I was working for. It's almost like it doesn't matter to me internally. Not really sure where I was really going with this but moving forward I'm really going to try and enjoy the things I learn each day and try not to be so hard headed towards my next few goals along the way and just experience the process for what it is. ❤🙏
for me, right now, i'll be happy when i move out of my brother's house and shift solo to Montreal once i get this offer letter lmao. I can't wait for the new challenges
Truth is, nothing in this world can make us happy. If you really noticed this, everything around you is constantly changing. Even if we try so hard, we cannot actually grasp anything at all. Are you excited to get x thing? Well once you get it, the excitement is over. The x thing won’t even last. We even try our best to remain healthy by eating well and exercising, but we all know that our body will grow old and will eventually come to an end. You can’t even chase happiness because it’s an emotion, and emotions never last. Also just a reminder that we are putting the peace we have right now away to get the peace that we want in the future, which we assumed that we could get. But we obviously feel dissatisfied..
I think i would be very Happy if i could do what i want without needing to work or urn Money 😂 The pursuit of Happiness is the pursuit of freedom. I just hope i will not be a slave to freedom ifyouknowwhatiamsayin
The hardest challenge for me is flipping the switch and recommitting to positive actions every single day. My default is watching RUclips excessively and it honestly ruins any momentum i build up
Here's a question about gratitude: I don't really feel the emotion. I can say things that express gratitude, but it's quite a rare emotion for me to feel.
Feeling it is hard. But if you went to a hospital. And ask the people sick and dying what they want. It would be health. So if you’re healthy. How are we not grateful. Perspective is important here. The genuine feeling of gratitude may not be there but you can still practice it until it is there.
All emotions like happyness are directions. Putting them as a goal doesn't make sense. Imagine if your goal is to chase sadness or fear, even those you wouldn't be able to achieve them constantly/all the time. All emotions are useful to direct you in life, they shouldn't be chased.
But what if the gratitude I once felt for my life is gone and instead of gratitude I only feel anger or despair, because of situations in life that changed my perspective of everything?
I thought I was happy... Then my mom died, my only best friend died, my wife cheated on me then my daughter hate me for leaving her mom, my whole family is now leaving me.. getting divorced, going broke soon. All in a short amount of time. How can I be happy with I currently have now?
@@neogeijutsu man. This is rough. Life can really suck sometimes. I’m really sorry to hear about all of that. That can’t be easy. And will def take time to create a life that you can be happy with again. But it can be done. I think you start by focusing on what you can control. How to become a better human. Father. As hard as it might be, start with gratitude. Gratitude for breathing. For waking up. Start very small. And take it one day at a time. 🙏🏼
What if you’re not happy, not because of what you don’t have, but because you feel less than? Like you don’t see yourself as positively as your family and peers do, even when you try?
this unfortunately has more to do with self love. Working on your own vision of yourself is what i would start with. I would start with journaling, affirmations, and without knowing alot about your exact situation, i would also suggest to stop comparing yourself to others. (again, not sure if thats something you are aware of yourself doing or not) but a lot of feeling less than comes from comparison. We all feel less then at some point especially when seeing all these other people who seem to have so much accomplished or having all these things we don't. Its a sad innate human trait we need to constantly work on. hope this helps!
When you start thinking negatively about yourself, force yourself to stop. It’s hard to do at first for sure, but there’s a strategy to help. But quite literally you have to stop mid-thought and say no, I’m not gonna allow this dark thought to continue. One strategy is when that happens, immediately go up to a mirror and purposefully find things to compliment or things you’re happy for. Look at the mirror and go “Ya know. One good thing about me is my eyes. They shine nicely and have a pretty color.” Things like that. It’s hard at first, but it will train your brain
" If you’re not happy with what you have, you will never be happy with what you get. " That hit.

The chase of happiness never ends, until you want it to end.

Well done Ron. You are definitely a genuine RUclipsr, not like other hypocritical RUclipsrs who hate demon slayer, but keep posting DS reaction video.
Appreciate this 💪🏼

Disciple brutha. Set a timer. Watch only for an hour. Then get up and do something. You have to be the one to hold yourself accountable.

Material items suppress your true emotions, if your not happy with yourself then you'll never be happy

You need to find it again. You have things to be grateful for. But sometimes life clouds that.
