With regards to the Japanese interview it's highly likely that they had not enough sleep (I believe it was a morning show, too). Kibum actually said on Korean variety tv that he was looking forward to one thing when he was drafted into the army, and that was MORE than four hours of sleep a night.

Taemin was somewhat an introvert esp without his Shinee brothers. He got a lot more relaxed after his solo debut.
