A potable water fountain for those that don't have easy access to fresh water. Somewhere people could trade but also where they could relax and socialise. Not sure how expensive that would be though, it might be a bit too ambitious. But as a facility it could support all sorts of different people I think.

As for a community project, you could established a community garden: Create a shared space where residents can grow their own food, fostering a sense of community, promoting healthy eating, and reducing food expenses. You could create small businesses or cooperatives within the community. This can include local shops, cafes, restaurants, guesthouses, or transportation services. By keeping these enterprises community-owned, the profits can be reinvested back into the community's development. I know you’ve helped grandma already but I really feel like she could use a ramp with handrails. The stairs look difficult to navigate and I’m worried she could fall and get hurt.
It's not very efficient, but would a steam condenser be useful for the water situation? Boil water in a container with a coil of pipe, (typically copper) to let the steam out. The coil and length provides enough surface area to allow the steam to condense back into water at the other end. The idea is any contaminates are too heavy to catch a ride with the steam and you end up with pure water. A steel container and a camp fire is the basic version.
@@MURPHSLIFE I saw the camp fire version on a survival channel. They used a steel fuel container, knocked a hole in the cap, inserted the pipe and used bits of cloth to seal the gaps around the pipe. They hung the pipe in a tree branch and let it drip into a canteen.They were starting with sea water. It was done with plausibly scrounged materials. In terms of chemical contamination, it's not a 100% system. If a given contaminate has the same molecular mass as steam, it will travel up the pipe along with it. Still, if the locals are drinking straight from a contaminated water source and the system removes 95% of it, you are still reducing the harm to some degree. You can search for solar stills to get the most basic idea of the concept. A solar still uses the sun and time to purify water. This is not an ideal solution compared to lab tested clean water, but it could be better than the status quo in some situations and it's dirt cheap to implement.
@@MURPHSLIFE I did a search for common chemicals used in mining and found a list of them. I searched for the molecular density of nitric acid compared to water. It ranges from 1.42 to 1.54. So it shouldn't travel up the steam pipe. Things like mercury and uranium are definitely heavier than water, so they will stay behind in the container. A lab report of the chemicals present in a given water source will give you a better understanding of how well a condenser system works for that water source. Ultimately no system is perfect. I drink my tap water because I believe my government is doing a good job, but I have no way of confirming that. We all crack open a bottle of water and simply assume it's pure. Don't let perfect be the enemy of better is my point.

I love the aid you give and your plans for the future, and I think giving these people the ability to be independent is of huge importance for your plans. When people have nothing they are forced into survival mode, and are robbed of the ability to work for the future because the now is more pressing. Understandably, because of this, important aspects of life are neglected out of necessity. When people have stability, they can focus on their future, their environment, education, health, etc and are able to make improvements. You say it yourself all the time, they need to be able to work and to provide just as much as they need shelter. Aid is absolutely crucial, but it’s akin to giving a man a fish. Without improvement to the whole system, they are doomed to needing more aid in the future. I hope, in this regard, you are able to continue providing infrastructure these people desperately need. But for now, smaller projects like bathrooms, shops, beds, etc are absolutely a blessing ❤
