Church! Though I don't have an octaver, so I tuned to drop D, put a capo on 2 making an e,b,e,a tuning and played different parts on the low and high E STRINGS with different fingering as necessary.
Thank you, Loick, this got me playing the song. Once I had the fingering down I rearranged it a bit to account for not having an octaver pedal, aby box, two amps, etc (so doesn't sound like the band but what the hell!). Downtune E to D, capo on 2 giving EBEA tuning. Verse and chorus on the low e string, all pull off parts on the new "high" e string. My bass has 24 frets, so I can play right up the neck for the solo. Cheers!
Thanks ! The mooer is for the constant +1oct on the whole song on the guitar amp, beacause it sounds way better than the whammy for that The whammy is only for the pitch down at 2:14, and act on both guitar and bass amps, and also to add a 2nd octave up at the end of the song
I am tryin to set up a similar rig and I cannot figure out the routing to the bass amp UNLESS it is like this. The bass is set up in LOOP 1 with the Y-cable single end plugged into the bass amp.
Hey, ik this is gonna sound really stupid but how do I make my bass sound more like this. I don’t have anything but the bass and amp and don’t know much about other things I can acquire to get this sort of sound. Maybe I just have a cheap bass I don’t know. Anyone that can help please do :)
By continuously doing hammer-ons and pull-offs. Basically your finger the fret really hard, then pull your finger out, slightly pulling the string. You repeat that process the amount of times needed.
I always use the mooer for the fake guitar sound ( +1oct ) because it sounds better than the whammy, then I use the whammy when I need pitch effects ( at 2:14 ) or to have +2oct sound ( at 2:18, or on One Trick Pony solo )
it isn't about the bass, it's all about what amps and pedals you use, i can make the full sound with a pog2 and a simple channel splitter (as well as a peavey tnt 350 and a hughes and kettner tubemeister 18), you can use an optional bass effects processor just to clean it up but isn't so much needed because of the clean bass sound.
Awesome cover! I've just started playing bass guitar, was wondering how exactly is he playing the 0-10-0-10 section on the low E string (without plucking I mean)?
Thank you ! It's a hammer on and a pull off, hit the string with your left hand to make the 10 (hammer on), then release the string by pulling it slightly to make the 0 (pull off)
OMG! I have that same bass amp! Ive loved that bass amp. BTW, what is the Y Box? I paused on your schmantics at the end. All of this stuff may be way beyond my pay grade
@@Marooniswhite so if a bass can sound like that, why are there guitars? I mean I know it must be kinda effect or whatever but I'm sure u can't do that with a guitar. It can't sound like a bass even with effects
@@sullyvan162 yes, you can make a guitar sound like a bass, you just use the same effects. Amd the sound is not the same, they have some interesting tonal characteristic that make the sound unique

Oh shit, the comment I just left, I wrote a similar one 4 years ago from my other account!
Lol same. It always angers me when it's not.
Great cover man. This is the closest I've heard to actually sounding like Mike Kerr with your rig. Nice job.
Thanks a lot man !
i guess you could say he
figured it out?

Dude you did a fantastic job on this one!!!
Thank you !
This song is more simpler then I thought
simpler than learning proper grammar i suppose
Songs are important, but language is importanter
I'm trying to play and sing it juts like Mike Kerr does... Doesn't feel simple for me! hehehe
@@mayitorocks some people are not native speakers sped
@Kaj Flessemansorry, but the timing to this is not difficult, at all. Not putting it down, but it's just not.
i shit you not, the only way i can manage to get a really good distortion effect on my bass guitar is if the active preamp battery inside it is dying
I have a fender guitar amp for distortion
There’s a lot to be said for ‘shitty’ gear. Whole genres practically rely on it, like early black metal.
Proves you don't need a fancy riff for a good sound
Just a fancy rig ;)
Good work dude :) Your tone is great on this one :)
Thank you man !
nice job, man

Flawless! Awesome job dude!

Wow! Amazing!!!!

Perfect
Great video and tone! Thanks - quick Q. Why the Whammy AND mooer? How do you set them?
Thanks ! The mooer is for the constant +1oct on the whole song on the guitar amp, beacause it sounds way better than the whammy for that
The whammy is only for the pitch down at 2:14, and act on both guitar and bass amps, and also to add a 2nd octave up at the end of the song
@@loickjouaud9557 Cool thanks for the info!
amazing bass line dude!!

this simpler than i thought and another pedal that sounds like yours is boss sd-1 super overdrive pedal which also sounds really good on this song
Thanks a lot
great video, when is the Whammy used?
Wow, that's incredible, my friend.
One question you used pedals and which ones did you use?
Octaver and distortion
flawless!

Fantastic
I bought this mooer octave pedal, couldn't be any happier, cheaper than pogs and works pretty much the same
thought the same thing when I bought mine
Awesome! You'd get a few mics to show your tone crystal clear. Cheers!
Great tune man! What where your amp settings?
Thanks ! My Vox is on clean with bass and treble around 70%

how do you use ur big muff to get this tone? Like what dials are where, and what options do you have selected?
Tone around 50% and not much gain, the sound comes also a lot from the tender octaver
nice!... love this song, i made a guitar cover based on you tabs thanks!
Love that Aria bass. Cheers.I sub'd.🔥👍🎸
What effect use?? I hear some of fuzz but maybe have another effect extra
he has a fuzz pedal electro harmonix pog 2 and a mystery pedal.
i used to have an Aria! pretty rare to see.
You make this sound similar to a guitar with the mooer octaver and the big muff???
Yes ;)
In the case, if I had a a octaver for bass and fuzz, I'll make the "complete sound? Similar to a guitar and a bass at the same time?
You need also a bass amp, check out the schematics at the end of the video
Great cover dude. Is the main octave tone coming from that Mooer?
Thanks ! Yes, the Mooer is the most important part of the rig

Why did you use two octaver? Was it to achieve a fuller sound?
