Sick bag 🫶🏼. Great find. Does Japan carry more vintage bags than America or Australia? Many people have mentioned buying vintage from Japan. What’s the deal?
Hey! I have done some research as to why the bags from Japan are such great quality and such a good price. I think there is a combination of things. Firstly, from what I read there was a recession in Japan back in the 80s which meant a lot of people were selling their designer items for money. This meant A LOT of pieces had become available on the pre-loved market. Not only do the Japanese LOVE their designer items but it is also part of their culture to have quality over quantity. meaning that once an item they have worn and loved for a long time becomes damaged they replace it. The western world seem to look at luxury items as well a luxury and tend to use them even with damage and blemishes. They also have very strict counterfeit laws meaning designer pieces are authenticated in their customs process and are not able to leave the country if they are fake. Giving the international buyers even more security that their item is authentic. So all of this combined means Japan is a great place to buy your pre-loved designer items from. Sorry about the rant hahaha I love this subject! 😂

Wow definitely two bargains! very excited to see the other two bags. I've seen on your IG that the interior of the Gucci is coming along well, can't wait to see the process of that. Thanks to you I'm snooping around eBay for a vintage Celine leather crossbody... the square triomphe or classic bags are super expensive and the leather is easily scratched, so I don't really see a need in buying it new. Recently got a 17 year old Balenciaga city bag and been thinking about dying it black (it's beige now)... the great thing about cheaper vintage bags is that I'm not that afraid of accidentally fucking them up 😆

The Gucci bag you can literally take a vacuum with a brush attachment and vacuum it out. It’ll leave a grey microfiber behind.
Hey! I wasn’t able to do that because it was not only flaking but very sticky, almost like glue! I have just purchased a Gucci bag which I plan to fix this weekend, it doesn’t look as sticky as the Diana tote so I might try with the vacuum first! Thank you for the tip 🙌🏼😊

I thought so too! I had it authenticated the moment I received it because I was unsure and hadn’t purchased from the seller before. BUT it came back authentic and after a good 2 days of cleaning I have been able to remove the stickiness 🙌🏻
