I started the show earlier this year with 0 expectations, having read no reviews etc. and let me tell you - I have *never* sobbed harder and deeper during a TV show than in those first 2 seasons (in particular)
Yes, all of the big scenes were special, but it was the little moments that really got me. I am going to be a WRECK, and I cannot wait.
I'm with you on this. I never watched the show (but my wife did) until recently. While recuperating from surgery, my sister-in-law hooked us up with Hulu, and the three of us started watching it from the start about 6 weeks ago. Last night we watched the final episode of Season 5 (whoa! what a cliff-hanger!), can't wait for Season 6.

I cried every episode no joke, ok its not hard to make me cry but this show really made me feel so many things, not every show can do that.

Same. Had to watch the show for a theatre class and was not sure if I would enjoy it or not and this writing and acting is PHENOMENAL! I can’t believe I had never watch/ heard of it before!
I'm really happy they're not dragging it out for 17 seasons like a certain medical drama that should have ended 10 years ago. It hasn't yet felt like a story just for the sake of it. Knowing it's time to end it is so rare but that's how a show becomes timeless.

Totally agree! I’ve stopped watching GA two seasons ago. It turned into cheap, badly written soap opera
And what pains me more is how the character left. Arizona and Callie fighting for their daughter (Calie was my favorite but they ruined her character), Karev leaving Jo 😢
If the series doesn't end with Rebecca passing away and it cuts to Jack saying "Hey, Bec" or something along those lines at the end, I will be a little disappointed. That might be a cliche ending. but I would LOVE to see Rebecca and Jack FINALLY reunited in the afterlife :)

The saddest part is, once this show is over, we are stuck with lame reality tv, reruns of banaza, depressing news, shows that get cancelled after a month, and netflix movies.
We should not look back at anger or sadness once it ends, but be thankful a show like this existed.
I watch the old drama series generally, Sopranos, Mad Men etc. I only watch The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel now. It's really good
There's some good shows out there, you just gotta look for them. I hate reality TV, I don't watch it, but I have plenty to watch. I just finished watching HBOs miniseries "The Mare of Easttown" it was incredible. Totally recommend it.

I have never in my life loved a tv show like I love This Is Us. I love every character and every episode. I am looking forward to Season 6 with anticipation and dread. I don't think there will ever be a tv show that lives up to This Is Us and that is sad. Great writers, amazing storylines, and SUPER AMAZING ACTORS!!!!! This really is the best of the best.

Gawd, I hope not! This show has been wonderfully true to life without any type of religious supernatural god stuff. I can't imagine the writers would throw any of that kind of cheesy ridiculousness in at the end.

It's going to be so hard to see my favorite program ending. The love this family has is powerful. I pray a lot of the viewers have already made changes in their families watching this series. The characters have love for each other and want the best for each other. This world needs more people who are willing to love unconditionally.

This show is incredible .I watched since I was 19 now I'm 23 .When I was younger I felt that was a bit boring ,but as I growing up I can truly understand how important the relationship between family and also healing the child inside ourselves .No words can express how much I love this show, definitely will rewatch over and over again.
Can't wait! By far, the best show I've ever seen. I cry and laugh multiple times diring each episode. No other show has ever done that for me, before. So sad it's ending.
I was hoping for at least two more seasons. All I know is all the cliffhangers better be answered lol
I am so not ready for this Master Piece to end. Not a lot of quality programs to watch in my opinion. I also think Ken Olin, who produces and directs and is a actor is brilliant.
Very disappointed the writers have Toby and Kate divorce.

I really hope we get to see Sterling K Brown and Christy metz in much more work after this. I do love the whole cast , but them two are so phenomenol and convincing. You can tell everyone worked hard and was so invested in their role.
I want to thank my first year professor recommending this to me because I fell in love with this show pretty early on. We have watched the Pearson’s grow and mature. We have seen beautiful and heart warming stories. Uggh when the producer stated back in 2019 that there were only going to be 6 seasons I was denying it. Now I watch it with more honor knowing that this is what we get and no matter what this story of this family will stay with us forever. Uggh I’m so sad but it’s also bittersweet 🥲
This cast is just *phew* absolute perfection!! I already loved Mandy and Milo since I was a kid (Hello Milo in Gilmore Girls & Heroes! And Mandy in teen rom coms + her music career) , so I just had to watch this show the second I saw they were paired together! ... And then, it introduced me to amazing actors like Sterling, Chrissy, etc. Every episode, every scene, they all just continue to win me over again and again.... I don't think there will ever be another "reel family" like this on screen and I am just going to miss you guys so terribly when it all ends... But hey, I got something special to share with my future kids, so thank you from the bottom of my heart for that!! ❤️

The whole series has been truly amazing and I can’t believe it’s ending, but I don’t believe ANY episode will top “Birth Mother.” I’ve never experienced emotion on TV like that. MASTERCLASS writing and superb acting.

Aww 😭 I think I cried every single episode of last season. But Sterling is right- you want good shows to end when they're still good, when they still have the same impact as the first episode.
As much as I hate to see this amazing show end, I am glad they are not dragging it out for the sake of it. This way, they can tell the story and do it justice. It clearly has been carefully planned out, and I can't wait to see just how many tears I still have left in me to cry over this show.
Every episode, every season has made me cry. I can't accept the fact that it's gonna be the last season!!!! But yes, as rightly pointed out by them, I want the same amount of impact too!

It's so sad that all the clean family oriented programming comes to an end so quickly. There are not many dreams on that I can watch with my kids and not worry something they should not see is going to pop up.

The show is amazing except for one thing: 3 episodes, then a two week break. 3 more episodes and another two week break. One episode and then nothing for 3 weeks because of the World Series. Then 4 episodes in a row before it takes part of November off....along with all of December and part of January. It finally resumes, then skips a week because of the state of the State of the Union Address. By the time the season ends, it actually does feel like many years have passed.....
Ik but Covid messed it up for every show so I guess it is what it is... hopefully they can get a little more episodes in for next szn since it is the last szn
That’s why it lost me and I stopped watching.
That's not the show so much as the network. It's also because there are only 18 or so episodes and many more weeks than that between the premier and finale. That's also why they are going to come back in January next year so they can have a more uninterrupted run.
Best show ever. I always hoped someone would put it out in book form when it's over. And I can't help but wonder if there will be spin-offs? About the grandkids or about the separate Pearson adults as they go forward?
When will the final season release? Hard to say goodbye, but everything comes to an end someday. I hope the final ending will be a happy and fulfilled ending.
It will be released on the last Tuesday in September.

Love the show! I would like to have seen more done with Toby's depression, though. He had one kind of serious depressive episode, he got his meds. Boom, he was fine and it was barely mentioned again. Clinical depression is a serious illness that so many suffer and it's rarely so easily handled. It would have been nice if the great writers of this fabulous series had done more than give it just a brief nod. Dare I hope it might happen in season 6?
Lisa, I also wish they would have expanded on Toby's depression too. I think it would have benefitted many people to learn more about depression and anxiety. I suffer with both.
Someone commented a good theory that they said it’s odd Madison’s mother is British, so maybe just maybe madison also has a British BROTHER and we find out that the teacher is madisons brother and he’s not actually marrying Kate at all Madison and Kevin are engaged and THAT is why the future brother in law comment. Toby and Kate are just renewing vows❤️🤷♀️ maybe!
I love that theory! Hate to think Toby and Kate break up. They have such good chemistry. Can't really picture her with the stuffy British guy.
The spouses get fewer focused episodes, I guess to keep the narrative tight.

Great show! Superb writers! Nice to see a show where the writers don’t get burned out after a couple of seasons. I’m am continually amazed at the depth of the story; flashbacks and foreshadowing keep us on our toes! I love all the dysfunctional characters, but it is real, and unique story telling. I’m hoarding Kleenex for the final season. Yes, end it while you’re hot!
This show hit me like a truck. I went in without any expectations and this show is easily my one of my favourites show. The acting is next level, the screenwriting amazing. It got through to me a lot and man does it make you look back on your own decisions in life. I still have season 5 to go so im not there just yet. But good job guys. All of you.

With everything they have been through, they have a unique opportunity to make one of the best seasons of television.

So sad that it is ending so I really hope that they fill in all the blanks like how Rebecca and Migel got together, why kate and Toby divorced, how their son Jack became a singer, how Nicky reunited with his old girlfriend. Why she wasn’t there with Nicky at Rebecca’s death, and how Kevin gets with the wife, thinking it might be Sophie or that other girl that was in the military. And why Migel isn’t with Rebecca when she’s dying. I mean there are still a lot of gaps I will be disappointed if not all of them are filled in also I’m worried the end isn’t gonna be what we expect. I think it should end with Rebecca passing and meeting jack on the other side. Guess we will see.
