So I am new to the skyway, how do you target the tarpon during the spring
Bait is the key. The way I do it in slack tide I Chum the water heavy with green bags. Small hook 30lb leader don't go over that free line live Greenback on top of the cham you are going to have a bite in no time.
Great action! Worth dealing with the crowds. Never had bonito, wonder if it taste like tuna.
If you cook it the right way I guess something similar.

I’d say as heavy as you reasonably handle, faster sink rate.
I'll say heavier better make sure 3/8 Mash 7-8'
