I’ve been such a huge Chris Rock fan ever since the 90s, when I was a lost sad teen from a dysfunctional family being bullied by my own mother. Chris Rock was my lifeline in all that despair. I especially loved how daring he was not afraid to ruffle the feathers of the entitled wealthy celebs with inflated egos. That was my escape. I BELIEVE JADA broke him. The fact her entire career has been mediocre at best, that she doesn't see 'others' appreciating her the way she thinks she should be appreciated, she takes it out on Will. He is the one thing she knows she has control of and that gives her his power. Being married to Will has opened more opportunities for her than her talent level would've. Without Will, she'd be ordinary old, 'forgettable' Jada Pinkett. Jada pretty much castrated Will in public and he couldn't do anything but sit there, cry and take it. I, like many had respect for all Will has accomplished, This Oscar should've been THE highlight of his career. If he didn't do what he did, do you think anyone would even remember the GI Jane joke? Not only did Will Damage his career but now all people will talk about is how he's been cuckolded by a controlling, underperforming narcissist.

David Spade and Dana Carvey interviewed Chris Rock on their "Fly on a Wall" podcast. An absolute must listen. Chris talks about why he's passive and believe me, it makes this attack even more horrifying. Will Smith and his big mouth wife are arrogant narcissists. Will Smith needs professional help.
Will Smith's assault of Chris Rock is the type of thing that is so wrong that you feel embarrassment for them, that's when something is really really really embarrassing and shameful.
I always thought of Will Smith as being someone who was upstanding and didn't condone violence or even cursing. For him to use such a platform to show people that it's okay to lash out and assault a person is disgusting and troubling. I unfortunately can't imagine he will face consequences for his actions either because he's rich. He should be ashamed. I hope Chris Rock finds peace; being physically assaulted can be traumatic.
You hope Chris finds peace? Mr violent? The guy who has disgraced the black community and repeatedly humiliated black women for his own gain? Disgusting comment.
Will wasn't really mad at Chris, he was really mad at Jada for embarrassing him with the whole entanglement thing. That anger festered and built up within him and he exploded on the wrong person. Their relationship is toxic AF.
@@ravenswood118 lol oh you're so OPPRESSED as a woman 😭 What is a "woman" anyway? Please define that for us. There seems to be little uncertainty on the woke left about it. Lil bit.
Wrong. They had an open marriage. He had affairs too. The only thing was that the guy jada had slept with talked about it to the public. They’ve both said they had an open marriage. So. No. Will did not slap Chris bc of that. Seriously.
Just like Heather, I thought Jada was rocking a bald head because she looked amazing with it and I didn't know about the alopecia. Why should I? I don't follow her Instagram, i don't care for her round table, I didn't want to know about the very uncomfortable, very complicated and very public marriage situation. And if Heather, who follows these things more than us, well, if she didn't know....the self obsession of these people that we had to have known....
I have to agree that hearing him scream was worse than seeing the hit. Screaming triggers my anxiety and it was wild to watch. I could go on and on about this but Will was definitely off the rails and deep in the wrong.
Oh I completely agree; Will Smith screaming off camera was somehow more scary than the slap. It’s also scary how he seemed to switch from laughing to hitting so fast.
I want to see the video of how he transitioned from laughing at the joke to going up to the stage. What was going on between him and Jada? Will someone ask Lupita, please?
@@janetm6701 I found it odd that they were sitting kind of far apart from each other. Who knows what happened at home between them before the ceremony- big blow out at home beforehand???
I think he has been fake smiling for years, to hide his suffering or to convince himself he's happy, idk. But he has a hint of a smile all the time, before and after the slap and during his screams. And it's creepy
Jada and Will are on the internet, Red Table, talking about every personal part of their sex lives, her infidelity, his inability to sexually satisfy her. Then we are suppose to believe that a joke about her hairstyle deserves this spectacle. Making it into bullying her about alopecia is a stretch to me. She has videos where she has repeatedly said she loves her bald head. Who cares about their phony victimhood?
I live on the East Coast and saw it live. Will Smith has lost me as a fan. I am so worried about young people watching and thinking this behavior is ok. Plus the entire audience giving a standing ovation when Will won the Oscar, completely ignoring he just committed assault. All the comedic host of nighttime shows are making fun of Will. The only one who can save his reputation and career is Chris Rock. So so disappointed that 3 women comedic hosts also are no longer the focus or in the deserved limelight.
Oh please, do you have the same concern for young people who watched the January 6th insurrection? Are you equally as appalled by the right's defiant efforts to prevent a full and thorough investigation of said insurrection?
oh because ur so perfect. honey we all have our bad and irrational moments. but hey if you havent go ahead and judge. im on chris's side on this but i wouldnt cancel will because of a terrible moment.
Jada shaved her whole head over a tiny , tiny spot of hair loss, instead of just combing her hair different or wearing a wig that she has worn many , many times before. Not like a black women has never worn a wig before. Constantly talking about their open marriage and every detail of their life, that no one cares about. She wanted it to always be about her and her family. Whole family is insane. They stole the entire award show from everyone!
Chris was definitely shocked. Just listen to how mixed up his words were when he proceeded to announce the nominees for documentary category. Quickly deferred to control room to just roll the clips. Can you blame him? He did the best with a violent situation. I don't believe Will Smith would have done that to someone like Dave Chappelle!
And what if it was a white comedian that made that same joke, would Will Smith gotten up and if he had would he have been escorted our or not? Hmm, sad all around.
@@yukitakenaka3076 Can you imagine what would have happened to Smith had he slapped someone like Jerry Seinfeld? You can bet your sweet ass Will would have left the building whether he wanted to or not. Just like he should have been forced to on Sunday.
If I was the black community, I would have been outraged to think Will knew he could get away with it with blk brother. Shameful that community tolerates and excuses his behavior saying he must be going thru done stuff. Still no excuse, everyone going thru some stuff. What name do we call blk “Karen”?
Chris Rock handled the situation so well. My opinion of him just skyrocketed. As for Will, I saw a side of him that showed how entitled he and Jada think they are. Classlessness is what he displayed, especially at the Oscars.
Great show and awesome guest! Love her. Heather, the next time you do stand-up, you should walk on stage wearing a football helmet. You can say "I'm wearing this in case I faint again...............................or if Will Smith shows up".
Celebrities get roasted at awards shows all the time, Ricky Gervais never got slapped and said way worse although it would have ended differently I am sure. Chris handled it with class.
yes!!!! they are very lucky Ricky Gervais was not hosting because even if Will did slap him I think Ricky would have sued him, the academy, the lack of security at the venue etc lol
ricky gervais hasn't made a misogynistic comment about black women, that's why. ricky hasn't said way worse if you really understand the comment about jada's hair and what that means in the black community. Also Will has been handling Rock's comments for years and hasn't done anything. a year or so ago he told chris to stop. so this is the culmination of that. Nobody need to tell will to be able to take a joke. That is what he has been doing all his life. That night was a step too far.
@@butterflymoon6368 As a black woman, I completely disagree with that assessment. Chris did an entire documentary on the topic of black women's hair. It wouldn't make sense for him to do that. I think a lot of assumptions are being made instead of taking the joke for face value. Will proved to everyone that he's nothing more than an unhinged maniac willing to risk his entire career for his faulty marriage.
@@MissK816 exactly. he did the doc and made fun of women while doing it so he knows exactly what it means to make fun of black women's hair. the joke cannot be taken at face value. We don't live in a vacuum. His intention was to ridicule a black woman which is what he does best. One docu changes nothing. Will wasn't unhinged at all. He doesn't have a faulty marriage but society won't shut the fk up about his marriage because they cannot understand anything atypical and will ridicule those things until people feel pressure to fit in and change how they live. People are disgusting.
I am sooo waiting for you to post about this. I can’t believe Tyler Perry and Denzel Washington“calmed” him down after the incident. Even got a freaking standing ovation? What about Chris Rock? Who checked in on him? Also, I don’t think he would’ve done it to a white guy.
If Will Smith were a white actor who did something like this, his ass would've been pounced and hauled out of that theater so fast it would make everyone's head spin And you and everyone else on the woke left and in the media (same thing) would be screeching "RACIST" for months. And you know it.
I doubt a white guy would make a joke about a black females lack of hair. I think he would have if they had and the only difference the white guy would have been on the floor 💯
I know there are a lot of people who support Will and what he did, because it was in the name of love, blah blah blah.....I say bullshit. If it bothered Will, or Jada, to the point of assault then they should have confronted Chris in person, behind the scenes. I feel that Will came across as arrogant, entitled and privileged!! Who else would get away with doing that? Will LOBBIED for months, who knows how much time and money he spent lobbying for an Oscar. All that hard work for what? The only thing that people will remember is the smack, not that Will got his Oscar. I didn't watch, I never do but now for sure I'll probably never watch the show again. I think Will's action will cause changes on shows that are broadcasted live. Personally, I think that he should be banned from the Oscar show, at least for a few years. Chris took the high road, a true class act 👏.
Agreed. Maybe now some will stop with the "privilege" talk for certain people, when clearly Will Smith is one of the most privileged ones out there. If it had been a nobody camera man jumping like that over Chris Rock, we would have seen a totally different story. Here we had a full theatre just ignoring what happened in front of them.
@@p3812 so what, he's a comedian...if Will and Jada had an issue with his act it should have been handled privately, not the way Will did it. Will and Jada are not above the law. They want to have it their way, life doesn't always work out that way.
I honestly can’t watch it again, it really upset me that nobody did anything to stick up for Chris Rock. Just hearing you describe what happened makes me anxious. The feeling I had watching it is like something I’ve never felt. Just horrible
Every comedian, every performer, should be taking issue with the notion of physically assaulting a comedian for a joke someone did not like. That is the only issue at hand here. Anything else is just noise. An effort to excuse.
Jada and Will have a toxic relationship. That table talk of them talking about her affair, he looks so broken. Well done to Chris Rock for not reacting.
This is amazing. Towards the end I thought it was wrapping up, and was almost tuning it out for the generic wrap up comments, but wow. Right to the end this interview is powerful. The last 15 minutes are almost haunting. And also, of course, so funny. Love that you 2 understand each other's at-times dark humour. So good.
Heather I love Juicy Scoop! A Kardashian was not invited to the Oscars. A Barker was!! Travis performed an Oscar nominated song with Reba McEntire. Travis was on drums and Kevin Jonas played guitar while Reba sang beautifully 😊
Chris Rock is half the size of Will Smith… horrible we had to see that! Then to see everyone rushing to Will! 🥺 I felt sorry for Serena & Venus when Will Smith made reference to the part he played in the movie he won the Oscar for. Unbelievable and he still has his Oscar. Done with the Oscars! We used to have Oscar parties… no more 😳 I think the dude is having a nervous breakdown being married to her… very sad ☹️
Sure he didn’t like wife’s boyfriend, but they decided to have an open marriage. It came abt bc Will was forcing sex on Jada early in the marriage, sex addiction. Saw the interview. She looked sad and long faced. He smirked.
@@CS-pi5oc "forcing sex" on someone early in the marriage? SMFH then don't marry him then. Jesus. Its cruel to withhold intimacy from your partner. No wonder he cheated.

What does that even mean? You're talking about domestic violence. This is about racial violence towards black women and toxic masculinity. Are you on the right thread?
@JH1234 For YOU probably because you're white or non-black, it's 'a man hit another man'. I get it but you need to come out of your bubble and understand that experiences are different to people in different minority groups and so events mean different things. Black women experience violence from society all the time. The mistreatment of black women is a massive issue both within the black community and without. The issue of black women's hair is a massive issue (Chris made a documentary about it so he KNOWS), Black women being ridiculed about their hair by black men is a huge thing. If you do not understand that, it's fine but at least admit to ignorance. You have to understand that other groups of people exist outside of your world. You have a specific gaze which is not informed. This is absolutely a black woman's issue.
I know what it was about. In his book, his memoir, he talks about the ONE THING that shaped his whole life. The fact that he NEVER stood up for his mom getting punched by his dad when he was 9 years old and doing nothing.
If Jada is so sensitive about her non hair why didn’t she wear a wig or a headdress scarf? Frankly I didn’t notice her head I only noticed her dress & the confident way she carried herself.

Awe, just finished watching. What a beautiful, authentic interview. To the person that commented that Heather always makes it about herself...... it's called relatability - chemistry- shared life experiences - memories. Heather is a Gem and I'm thankful for her and her comedy and commitment.
Amazing conversation! Very oldschool, insightful and kind of industry behind the scenes. Great chemistry, lightning in a bottle, I'm sure neither parties expected that, but it's fire.
I read a comment on anther channel that said Chris Rock should have said "Damn! I'm gonna feel that slap till August!" How perfect a come back would that have been. Of course then Will would have killed him right there on stage, but a girl can dream!
If we’re playing, “What ifs”, can you imagine what would’ve happened if Will Smith had slapped a transgender person onstage? After slapping Chris, I believe Will should not have been able to receive that Oscar!
This was my favorite interview you’ve ever done. The connection and validation you two exchanged the entire time was so amazing. The vibe was so easy and funny but also very meaningful and idk but I beyond loved hearing you guys together!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of today's show. Thank you!! Heather's comments about the Oscars incident are very relevant - given her unique perspective of what it's like to be a comedian, on stage, vulnerable and just trying to get a few laughs. I can't believe i had never heard of today's guest but am now a big fan of hers too. She's very funny and i hope the show she had pitched to Peacock finally gets made.
I didn’t watch it but I think it’s real sad that this “Jerry Springer” violence happened on the night when the Oscars finally seems to balance its diversity in some ways. You know what some people are going to say about it.
Hi Heather! I am new to the channel as of this month. I have really been enjoying listening to your stories and opinions. I have known about you for years but for whatever reason, you've never popped up. I hope all is well and keep up the good work! Thank you for making me laugh and keep the good times rollin!
Rock didn’t need the assault to sellout his shows. He’s one of the funniest comedians on the planet. We’re all in need of humor now-I cannot wait to see his show!
Jada is a narcissist and like a typical one she made the night about her. She knew what triggered Will and he fell for it and pretty sure he’s regretting what he did. This was a show for Jada and fed her narcissism big time.
Chris Rock honestly is to be commended. He handled that like a pro. I know Will won't get canceled, but I was such a fan of his till I saw this. This is the most self serving act I have seen and it just took away from so many other amazing things. His apology is great, but it's too late.
JADA was the only person that did not go to Will’s side after he slapped Chris. Everyone else went to ask if he was ok. NOONE ASKED CHRIS IF HE WAS OK. THEY WENT TO WILL “the victim “.
yes, the mutual appreciation was something i enjoyed witnessing throughout the episode too. Made me think that Jessica must be a wonderful friend to those lucky enough to be in her life to call her that. I'm definitely a fan now and can't believe i had never heard of her before.
It was very uncomfortable and creepy watching Chris rock getting assaulted. Especially by a narcissistic madman. The worst part is he won’t face consequence Bc he is privileged.
Will even had problems with co workers at Fresh Prince. think Will is having problems with Jada & her open marriage. Jada wears the pants in that marriage which I think triggered this stupid joke. Will is under pressure in his marriage. I didn't know Jada had that hair problem.
I was really triggered & traumatized by Will Smith slapping Chris Rock. The violence was terrible and only made worse by Smith’s entitlement & justification. It’s never ok to hit someone because you don’t like what they say.
I'm here !!! So early 😃 I think for safety and security reasons he should have been escorted out of the building right away. I can't believe he was even able to make it up to the stage and no one stepped in.
One of my favorite guests ever! Extremely funny, genuine, profound and complimentary to Heather's sense of humor/interview style/etc. Please have Jessica on again sometime! Also agreed with everything you said regarding the Will & Jada of it all. Wonderful episode as usual 😊
I REALLY REALLY REALLY WISH that the other ROCK had cracked that joke. Cudo's for the successful PR stunt. Truly one of your best shows Heather..... Ms Kirson's a HOOT.!!!

What did Jada do?
Well the 2 idiots sure showed they are all not at all class act.
Will Smith's assault of Chris Rock is the type of thing that is so wrong that you feel embarrassment for them, that's when something is really really really embarrassing and shameful.
Chris Rock, rocks! A professional class act. I haven't watched the Oscars in years!
I think he had a meltdown, he’s been the butt of jokes the last couple of years. Unfortunately it was on national tv
Oh, please. Lord why do people hate women so much.

I think between that, and the gay rumors, he interrupted the joke as her being a lesbian. The old stereotype
Wrong. They had an open marriage. He had affairs too. The only thing was that the guy jada had slept with talked about it to the public. They’ve both said they had an open marriage. So. No. Will did not slap Chris bc of that. Seriously.
I'm seriously looking forward to when Dave Chappell does a bit about this slap in his next special! His take on "juicy" smollett was hilarious!
Where can I find that?
I was looking to see if Chapelle had a take on it yet. Nothing as of Monday night!

She thinks she is a center of the universe.
I have to agree that hearing him scream was worse than seeing the hit. Screaming triggers my anxiety and it was wild to watch. I could go on and on about this but Will was definitely off the rails and deep in the wrong.
Same! My heart was beating so hard lol like I was being screamed at!
Yes! I imagined how uncomfortable it was being at that same table…
100%!!!! I thought the same thing , the slap was almost comical but the yelling made me so uncomfortable 🥵
@@SDMA1989 Right? Imagine if someone that was NOT a big celebrity was screaming like he did. People would have gotten up out of their seats.
@@tammijo i felt so bad for chris it was so awkward.
Does anyone remember that Will called Janet Hubert "a difficult woman to work with" and ruined her career? Time to pay back?
Oh I completely agree; Will Smith screaming off camera was somehow more scary than the slap. It’s also scary how he seemed to switch from laughing to hitting so fast.
I want to see the video of how he transitioned from laughing at the joke to going up to the stage. What was going on between him and Jada? Will someone ask Lupita, please?
@@janetm6701 I found it odd that they were sitting kind of far apart from each other. Who knows what happened at home between them before the ceremony- big blow out at home beforehand???
Jada 👩🏽🦲probably gave Will the “death stare” for laughing. So he had to prove a point. Male ego 🤷🏽♀️
It looked fake. But now I don’t think it was.
Thank you! This is all bullshit!! Will you please wake up and see what is really happening. OMG!
@S Mazz yep what you said ! Exactly !

Kelly laughing in the background in the episodes is one of my favorite things. Her laugh is amazing! I love when Juicy Scoop breaks the fourth wall 😂🤣
Agree. Where are the patches? She appears to have hair all over her head?
Well some people prefer to shave or wear wigs rather than have patches, so her head her right, but her bitchy attitude is what’s wrong.
It’s sad that the parents’ instability has so deeply affected their children. They were exploiting willow at 14.
She wanted attention on Will's big night that's why she didn't wear a wig.

@@bw7839 omg yes! That is perfect! So clever. Lets make that tend.
Chris Rock handled the situation so well. My opinion of him just skyrocketed. As for Will, I saw a side of him that showed how entitled he and Jada think they are. Classlessness is what he displayed, especially at the Oscars.
No entitlement at all. He was sticking up for his wife.
Great show and awesome guest! Love her. Heather, the next time you do stand-up, you should walk on stage wearing a football helmet. You can say "I'm wearing this in case I faint again...............................or if Will Smith shows up".
That's funny 😁
I seriously loved this interview. I could listen to Jessica talk endlessly.
Exactly. It’s like “Who’s the bigger star? Let’s go check on him.” Just isn’t right.
If Will Smith were a white actor who did something like this, his ass would've been pounced and hauled out of that theater so fast it would make everyone's head spin
And you and everyone else on the woke left and in the media (same thing) would be screeching "RACIST" for months.
And you know it.
I doubt a white guy would make a joke about a black females lack of hair. I think he would have if they had and the only difference the white guy would have been on the floor 💯

Wouldn’t you know…Will Smith’s audio is TT trending and Chris Rock’s shows are sold out. Well played playas!! Awesome show Heather, you called it!!
Will Smith is losing his mind. That whole family thinks they are so woke, they have lost all sense of reality.
Will made fun of someone for having alopecia in the past. An arsenal hall band member. There's a video going around

The screaming is what took it over the edge for me
If Jada is so sensitive about her non hair why didn’t she wear a wig or a headdress scarf? Frankly I didn’t notice her head I only noticed her dress & the confident way she carried herself.

I read a comment on anther channel that said Chris Rock should have said "Damn! I'm gonna feel that slap till August!" How perfect a come back would that have been. Of course then Will would have killed him right there on stage, but a girl can dream!

Of all the award shows where this could happen, the Oscars is the last one you would expect.
I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of today's show. Thank you!! Heather's comments about the Oscars incident are very relevant - given her unique perspective of what it's like to be a comedian, on stage, vulnerable and just trying to get a few laughs.
