I lost my mom to lung cancer at 55. I first heard this just after she died a week or so before Christmas. I ugly cried in a Walmart parking lot for several minutes before I could go into the store. It still hits me each and every time.

@@l-bird you are so welcome I listen to it a lot and think of my mother that passed two years ago. She battles cancer for 7 years once she beat it she fail in a hospital and had a brain bleed and died the hospital knowing she was a fall risk. God bless you and yours during the Christmas season.
@@boswinney7658 Oh bless you. The irony of going to the hospital is painful. My mother died last year in the hospital under suspicious circumstances. Though I had been her care giver for a while, her death came unexpectedly. Who knows, maybe our mom's got together in heaven and had you tell me about the song. I listened to it several more times. Someone made a full length movie from this song. Its a very beautiful movie that might make the viewer do a self assessment. I have made several mission trips with a wonderful mission group into remote places in 3rd world countries to build housing and bring medical clinics to areas where any kind of medical help is hours away. I can tell you, well I can tell everyone reading this, that one of the greatest gifts that you can give to yourself is to help a person who does not have the means to help themselves. And one the greatest gifts a child can receive is to witness his parents giving mercy through their generosity. I can tell you that just giving money does not have the same effect on your heart as giving of yourself. Every time, every trip, when travelling home from one of these mission trips a feeling of guilt would wash over me and the other members of my group as well, because we always felt as if we were taking more home than what we had left in that jungle.

The vocals are so filled with emotion, but tell the story beautifully. The instruments are outstanding and help to set the emotion. The Christian group released this in 2000. Great reaction Harri. I love Christmas so much. I love Christmas music. But when I hear this song I cringe so bad. I just feel like it is so formulaic. Like a few guys that are on a table throwing around sad ideas in stirring them in a pot... It's very cringy to me.
