    mayuzumi has better fundamentals, but he don't have flashy movements like kuroko that makes him shine, that the reason that he can keep been a shadow even when he can shoot and do other regular player things

    "You head is too high"
    Nice compliment Akashi but you don't have to say the same line everytime the player is taller than you.

    Akashi broke Kagami's ankles only because Kagami thought that he alrady seen Kise's ankle breaking and stopped once.

    12:37 One of the best parts of the series is how Akashi subtly pulled so many strings in the background and set everything up. I never thought about Kuroko becoming too much of a light either - really like how they wove that in and foreshadowed this moment.

    I think Mayuzumi's "higher fundamentals" just means he has the option to play regularly if he needs to. In Kuroko's case, he can't shoot regularly so he has to do fancy things like the Phantom Shot. Same with dribbling, Kuroko can't drive normally so he needs to use the Vanishing drive. Both of these moves draw a lot of attention and can only work under certain conditions. If Mayuzumi is open he can take a normal jumper. If somebody isn't playing good defense he can drive by. Nobody is gonna really care about guarding an average player like him too hard because he's C-Tier. People like Teppei, Hyuga, and prob even Izuki could beat Mayuzumi in a one on one. Since Mayuzumi's main role is to pass, people are worried about where the ball is going to end up, but if you aren't guarding him he can just layup the ball or make the shot like a normal player. Kuroko is in a different boat because his vanishing drive and phantom shot require you to subconsciously pay attention to Kagami. So without that condition, Kuroko can only pass, and since Rakuzan is aware of Kuroko's presence, he's completely useless. Kuroko can't even play on the court as an average player so they had to bench him.

      I mean, they specifically stated that anyone that loves basketball above anything and with gifted talent is able to. Midorima clearly loves basketball and he clearly has the skills. In the manga, he goes into the zone.

      Midorima can dribble. Even Kagami said that. And against Rakuzan Midorima passed 2 players with his dribble. And Midorima is easily top 5 best players on defense.

    Akashi would never allow the new sixth name(forgot his name)to do something too flashy moves like Phantam Shoot and vanishing drive let alone the Buzzer beater.He basically says he can shoot but not more than one(actually New sixth man is not that smart you will understand in next episode)he can dribble but not for too long.yes his lack of presence will detoriate but not as fast as Kuroko's.
    I don't think Akashi disrespects Kuroko may be he just too dispointed with Kuroko.remember in Teiko Arc when Midorima and Murasakibara were fighting Kuroko interepted them and said "Even I could Win a match against you two now" its kinda disrespect but its not.

  • @VsMemeNurdik

    I think the difference between knock off and Kuroko is that for Kuroko to learn things asides from his passes, he had to learn them differently, if you see his moves, they are flashy as all hell even his shooting form is something you clearly pay attention to since its soo different. perhaps Akashi mentioned knock off already having his fundamentals is because its basic, his shooting, dribbling and passes are as basic and normal as can be so its not really causing any attention towards him, at least thats my thoughts

    Midorima is a hack if he is in zone. He will have ridiculous defense, stamina, shooting, etc. Which is impossible to block. Irony in this episode is, akashi says how do you compare a fake to an original and guess who does that in the end😂😂😂

    Fundamentals. I think theyre talking about the stats. Mayuzumi is C rank in every aspects, as kuroko was D rank or E rank back in season 1 when Riku saw his shirtless body, she even stated he is about to gave out, and we can see stamina wise kuroko cant last the whole 4 quarters. So Mayuzumi is really the upgraded version, fundamentally. In terms of lack of presence, thats another story.

  • @hydropumpsquirtle
    @hydropumpsquirtle 4 года назад +2

    You totally don't understand Kuroko's losing his lack of presence if you keep saying it's due to him "getting good" when it actually isn't.
    It's due to Kuroko using FLASHY techniques that caused him to hold the ball longer which causes more and more people to notice him each time he does for each game he uses those flashy moves. There's a big reason why Kuroko was talking about light and shadow in episode 1 (or 2) of the anime's first season. They keep showing that importance as each episode goes by as well.
    Also, Mayuzumi having better fundamentals than Kuroko means he can shoot, dribble, and some other stuff better than the latter. But those fundamentals won't make him stand out due to the other amazing players of Rakuzan that he's on the court with which makes him being able to use misdirection.

    Yep you were right with him being a replacement for kuroko since the last episode😂😁 Just didn't say it, but I will always say the old is better than something new or in this case kuroko is more experienced, teamwork, and love for the sport in contrast with the other dude but new members can have the qualities that kuroko have it just depends but I want rather have something I had for a good amount of time than something new but I can go on and on about so I'll stop and my view point is not everyone's so you might not agree but anyway LOVED this reaction again, very and enjoyable to watch. See u in the night one!😁😊

    it works with knock off kuroko because he is surrounded by better players his team is full of uncrowned kings and Akashi so he is less noticeable

  • @waterphoenix857
    @waterphoenix857 4 года назад +1

    now u know why u forgot about him last time :P, an what he ment by fundamentals is that he's better in all the other catagories then kuroko is, now that being said just cause he's better doesn't mean that he has/needs to dribble it or shoot it but that option is there anytime they might need it and thats why his misdirection works, it's cause he hasn't been dribbling or shooting it, probably on purpose for that reason so his misdirection would work but he can do those things alot better then kuroko can if he wants to, and i think thats what akashi ment when he said that.

  • @madbansappletree6738
    @madbansappletree6738 4 года назад +3

    Kuroko's signature moves are very flashy such as phantom shooting over giants like Murasakibara and vanishing driving past lockdown defenders like Midorima. It's different from normal fundamentals cause Kuroko's moves are actually pretty extravagant and unorthodox moves that no one else can do so I wouldn't consider them as "fundamental basketball". For example, we know that a "fundamental" proper jump shot that most players utilize wouldn't work against murasakibara, but kuroko's unorthodox phantom shot works against the miracle. Basically, I wouldn't say kuroko has "good" basketball fundamentals. His playstyle (including dribbling, shooting, and even defense) is very unconventional and is effective until he shines too bright, then he becomes useless with no proper fundamentals to fall back on.
    Akashi is saying that Mayazumi has stronger proper basketball fundamentals than Kuroko. Remember, Kuroko can't even make a normal fundamental layup to save his life.

    Sorry if i have commented this before but i couldnt see it in the comment section. All i see is my comment about Mido and Kagami but not the comment about the fundamental stuff.
    But before we get into that, thank you! Finally a reactor that realized Mayzumi had the same ability Kuroko has before the reveal! How many hints does the show have to give xd?
    But about the fundamental stuff. Almost all of his stats are a notch higher than Kuroko (speed, stamina, ball handling, and etc.) And his running, screens and maybe shooting are better. But with Mayuzumi, shooting is okay (pls hear me out until the end here) cause his shots arent that flashy, arent used as frequently and arent used for pivotal moments in the game (like the buzzer beater in the semi). If Mayuzumi shoots one or two shoots in a game, the players, especially basketball headed teenagers wouldnt really pay attention to that and maybe call it a fluke unless your one of the most 'logical' 'wise' players like Kasamatsu, Imayoshi, Akashi and Midorima who uses every single fatal weakness to take you down. Espeically when his teammates are AKASHI SEIJURO and three of the uncrowned kings, its easy to get overlooked. Plus if he will only shoot when no one is available to shoot at that moment i think he could pass by.
    Kuroko cant do this cause he cant shoot regular shots. Hence why they made the vanishing shot with a different form and everything. And his teammates arent as known as Akashi and the uncrowned kings (excluding Kagami and maybe Kiyoshi) and had only been shining in this game and last game and even if they did, Kuroko still cant shoot regular shots sooo.
    Thats why Akashi said he didnt work on Kuroko's shooting cause he cant shoot regular shots and if he improvised and used a different shot he made on his own, of course it would stand out. (he didnt really explain in detail but why would he, kuroko is his enemy now. All he needs to say is words to make him loose his focus.)

  • @cjesse4015
    @cjesse4015 4 года назад +1

    fundamental just the same as you think, dribbling, shooting and passing. I know their is a conflict with misdirection, but it makes sense that why he is a new model compare with kuroko and stronger than kuroko.

    2:06 I mean true-
    Kagami in the zone is obviously better than Midorima when he isnt in the zone. Even though Midorima is good at defense... KAGAMI IS THE ZONE DUDE! Full potencial!
    Lol but if Midorima was in the zone his defense would increase alot too since he is pretty good at defense and he'll probably have quicker shots? Cause i mean what else can we do with his shots other than increase his speed, he can already shoot from anywhere in the court.

    "He's a knock off Kuroko the Original is better" xD
    You know, I never thought about it like this, but making him look bad is actually a solid theory, makes more sense at least.
    Mayuzumi's fundamentals is slight better than Kuroko's "mediocre", but then again it's not enough to be as good as Akashi AND the Uncrowned Kings. He still gets vastly outshone.
    I find it kind of funny how Bokushi(Dual eyes Akashi) thinks Mayuzumi is better than Kuroko just for having a similar "phantom role" but higher stats when Kuroko is much more than that.
    In a way, Kuroko is like Akashi in that he isn't dangerous because he has "x" skill, but how he makes use of it.
    Kuroko has the brains, experience born from struggle, deep intuition, observation skills and ingenuity to back him up, he contribues to his team not only with his shadow style but also as the second strategist to Seirin.

    Kuroko did never get good he simply REVERT BACK to WHAT HE SHOULD BE... a scorer... not a passer... like... he is just a normal average player but the problem is... kuroko is not an average player... he is below
    also...
    The reason why Akashi tells that Mayuzumi is better than kuroko with his skills is because Mayuzumi has the size to deal with defenders but kuroko can't, Mayuzumi is 182cm which is 5 foot 11 inches who could play positions 2 and 3 while Kuroko is just 168cm which 5 foot 6 inches and that's a lot of gap in size.
    And Mayuzumi only adapt misdirection not that he has lack of presence to back it up just... COPYING KUROKO...
