Singleness isn't bad at all. I'm single and more successful than any of my married friends. I travel internationally anytime I desire. Do as I please. Spend my money how and when I want. I never ever desire marriage. I wouldn't push marriage on anyone. I love my single life. Now, dating is great, but I don't need or desire a husband. If I ever get lonely or have spare time, I'll get a 🐕. I believe I can assure you women talking about being married aren't as happy with their marriages as they are pretending. Being married for many years doesn't mean you have peace of mind for those years.

I grew up the way the lady in the orange spoke of her family. I went to mostly predominantly black schools except when we moved due to the military life. In our home church I grew up seeing doctors, lawyers, educators, entrepreneurs, farmers, musicians, nurses, homemakers, homeowners)
In the black neighborhood I remember seeing self sufficient people with funeral home, grocery story owners, small business leaders, oldest black pharmacist with his business, black owned radio station, city council & activist active / visible in community. So I totally agree
Growing up around your culture builds confidence at a young age. I saw the same confidence traveling abroad.

I can appreciate these women sharing their experiences and perspectives as a wife, however, I take issue re: some of the dialog to which a qualified mental health professional should be on the panel to offer research-based information. For starters, not every young woman centers her life around marriage, men, or being a wife. In today's climate, I would never advise a young black woman to prioritize a romantic relationship over advancing her education/career. She can have awareness of those whom she might wish to partner with while pursuing her educational/career goals, but anything else would be foolish in my opinion. Also, there's another conversation to be had about the real reasons Black boys are not choosing to be with girls who look like them, and it is way more complex than what was touched upon in this podcast. The comment made about a young Black man having access to spaces where Black girls are not... I'm curious to know which spaces are being referred to, as Black (young) women are currently the most educated demographic in this country. Furthermore, times have changed tremendously and continue to do so. Being married for a bunch of years does not equal a happy marriage, btw. Sadly, there are too many people miserable in their marriage, I know a few personally, as well as others who decided to tap out and reclaim the happiness of life as a single person. Know thy self first. Choose wisely, good people!

And he also had been married previously and I had not but I also had a child at the time and he did not. And together we grew because for us it was not always rainbows and butterflies. You know what I HATE About this conversation is that it tends to put all the weight on the Woman, and not any responsibility on our black men to elevate to go to school to become more to not be in incarcerated at such a high rate to not be killing each other. I mean, let’s focus on the black man so that more black women can be married and happy. it’s not just about what a woman does

Once again...... anytime there is a conversation that has to do with women being accountable....it never fails to have a woman with this type of comment.
This conversation was about "helping women". So in fact it IS about what women can do or change to have a successful relationship.
What I find interesting about this is here you have a panel of "married" women giving perspective on what marriage and relationship is...as well as what men actually arw so you know what to look for.
And instead of taking that advice, you are complaining about what men are not doing. You totally missed the part where they said " there are good men out there".
Which implies that you need to be able to spot them and understand who they are and what they look like. That is what you as a woman can control.
If this was a men's podcast talking about marriage it would be the same thing. Control and change what you can.
Finally, I push back on your comment that more men need to get educated.....that is entirely false. We need men to work and have character...but a degree HAS NOTHING to do with the quality of a man.

Invaluable to some men but definitely not all. Some men with kids know how tough it is so they seek women who have kids because of experience & some because the man is done having kids so someone with kids is his preference. That being said, it is disrespectful for him to tell her to give up on seeking someone to love on her. There’s someone for everyone!

Black women whose sons marry non-Black women have lost the battle. I have a college aged, successful son as well as 2 successful nephews. I’ve been married Black for over 20 yrs and together we’ve raised these men. All of them date and/or are engaged to Black women. We live in an area where there aren’t alot of Black people but my young bulls have all managed to find great Black women to potentially marry and date. So, don’t give your sons that fake excuse that they can’t find a good Black woman or they’re surrounded by too many non-Black women. The truth is they don’t date Black because they weren’t taught to date their own. Also, so many Black boys see their Black moms struggle, raise kids alone in struggle or get whipped on and take back these pookies and those boys grow up not valuing the decisions that Black women. These young men are looking for their non-Black woman to save them from their trauma or to bring them some status. I say talk to your sons honestly.

From the videos that I have seen of KS, he never told anyone to give up on love. His point was to help women be more realistic about their options. A childless woman in her twenties has more options than a woman with several children in her late thirties. Can she find a man to love her and treat her well? Of course. It happens everyday. But will this man be 6 ft tall with a six pack and earning six figures? Probably not because that man has many more options than she does. It is strictly a numbers game. My mother got married in her 50s after we were all grown. Everyone deserves love. The point is to be realistic about where you are and what you have to offer to someone else in a relationship. - Great video, ladies.

I have 3 college educated and successful young sons and nephews whom we’ve raised to be aware of the beauty of their Black ethnicity and culture. I believe that when People are raised to see the value of their culture they desire to marry within it. My Indian, Hispanic, Jewish and Chinese friends can say that they want their kids to find a nice mate in their ethnic group and society deems that is okay. They understand that much history is lost when one marries outside the culture/ethnic group. I find that Black American men have too much choice in mate from all ethnicities and it confuses them. Limiting their choice to their ethnicity and culture makes them more intentional and gives them purpose. They understand the importance of maintaining their black family and keeping their community intact. Persians, and Africans do this all of the time. My eldest son is about to be engaged to a sweet Black American woman and we absolutely love her and her family. Train them up the way they should go and when they grow old they will not depart from it.

True. These brothas lie to themselves. A school full of predominantly Black women and they can’t find a mate? That’s straight BS. That shows that these Black boys are operating under dysfunction. The underlying problem is that Black men have too much ethnic choice in women. They need to be limited through social engineering to date and marry Black women. They need to Have some ethnic and cultural pride. I have 3 Black accomplished young Black men whom I’ve raised. They’re all with Black women and know not to look elsewhere. Limiting their selection pool to Black women pushes them to focus on their intentions and purpose.

I'm a bit more open. I'm not opposed to interracial dating. Only concerned with the quality of person.
Another point is that today's youth is more open with their sexual fluidity. That would have been interesting to broach.

It's so refreshing to hear these four women expound on men from their real life experiences. They are so on point about us men. They present themselves with such depth of composure that even on points that we men may disagree, an intelligent dialogue can be had. Let's PUSH this show out there. There aren't many like this one.

    I luv ❤
this show- this narrative is what’s truly needed so that single women can hear the experiences of wives and how they met their husbands and what was the light 💡 bulb moment that made them realize that was going to be their husband- it’s seems all the wives are awesome and had great stories to share- the one common denominator that I noticed that all wives have is that they were friends first and foremost with their husbands and things progressed into a full fledge relationship from there- awesome show- sending blessings of continued success upon you to grow further on a National scale your show is needed and we look forward to watching it ❤
