Kobe was an elite defender who had the ability to play great on ball defense in 1 on 1 situations, play help defense, protect the rim on chase down blocks. Exhibited a high defensive IQ in his ability to take charges on the defensive side of the ball, and could play the passing lanes. I just listed all the things that make a great defender. And anyone who disagrees clearly didn't watch the video. Once age, attrition, and injuries caught up to him, only then was it harder for him to consistently lock down smaller quicker guards. But that's normal and it happened to Jordan as well.

Kobe is in my opinion, the GOAT. He had less athleticism, less speed, got injured a lot, had less talent on his team, played in arguably the toughest time period and still managed to be one of if not the best defender of all time, get 5 rings, and be 4th in all time scoring. His hard work, determination and effort outmatched any player. As an individual basketball player, he is the GOAT because he was so great in a tough league and with somewhat average genetics for a nba player and non trustworthy teammates. He was so great even with so much odds against him. GOAT.

That leads to everything. And it's not a block from behind neither, locking down best O players is really fun as well. Hearing them cursing because they can't shoot nor get accross the half court. It's really seldom to see from the NBA trash era 2014-22 players locking down opposing players. Because hey! They are paid millions just to shoot and run.

ALSO BE MINDFUL KOBE LOCKED DOWN FOR AN ENTIRE 2ND HALF ALLEN IVERSON WHO WAS 2 IN POINTS BEHIND KOBE WITH THE MOST POINTS IN THAT DECADE FROM 2000-2010 KOBE AND IVERSON SCORED THE MOST POINTS. AND I DON'T THINK NOBODY ELSE WAS ABLE TO DO THAT AGAIN. IF YOU WANT TO BE IN THE CONVERSATION OF GREATEST BASKETBALL PLAYER EVER CONVERSATION U HAVE TO DO 3 THINGS JUST 3. THE GAME OF BASKETBALL OBJECTIVE IS TO SCORE THE BALL AND THEN DEFEND THE BALL WHICH RESULTS IN CHAMPIONSHIPS. KOBE AT HIS POSITION SCORED THE MOST POINTS IN NBA HISTORY WHICH WILL BE PASSED ONE DAY BUT AS FOR TODAY HE IS THE ALL-TIME LEADER AT HIS POSITION ✓. KOBE HAS THE MOST 1 TEAM ALL PRO AT HIS POSITION AND IS TOP 3 OF ALL TIME IN THAT CATEGORY ONLY BEHIND LEBRON. HE HAS THE MOST DEFENSE SELECTIONS AT HIS POSITION TIED FOR NUMBER 1 WITH 9 DEFENSIVE SELECTIONS HIM JORDAN AND GARY PAYTON BUT KOBE HAS 12 TOTAL WHICH IS 2 ONLY BEHIND DUNCAN WHO HAS 15. THEN YES HE IS 5-2 IN CHAMPIONSHIPS GOING ON A 3 PEAT AS BATMAN TO SHAQS SUPERMAN WHICH THEY WENT 12-3 ON THAT CHAMPIONSHIP RUN MIKE NOR SCOTTY IN BOTH 3 PEATS DIDN'T ACCOMPLISHED THIS ALSO HAVING THE GREATEST PLAYOFF RUN EVER WITH SWEEPING AN ENTIRE WESTERN CONFERENCE FACING 5 TEAMS WITH 50 PLUS WINS SHEESH THEN THEY FINISHED THE 3 PEAT WITH A SWEEP THEN KOBE WON BACK TO BACK AGAIN BEING THE BATMAN TO PAU GASOL BEING A ROBIN. SO THAT'S THE STANDARD HE PLAYED ELITE ON BOTH ENDS AND WON CHAMPIONSHIPS MULTIPLE TIMES IN A ROW TWICE ONLY HIM AND MIKE ACCOMPLISHED THIS THE THING IS KOBE CAME FROM HIGH SCHOOL AND HAD TO COME OFF THE BENCH FIRST TWO SEASONS OF HIS CAREER SO TELL ME ANOTHER PLAYER IN NBA HISTORY THAT WAS ELITE AMONGST THE BEST PLAYERS SCORED THE MOST DEFENDED ELITE AND NOT ONLY WON CHAMPIONSHIPS BUT DEFENDED THAT TITLE MULTIPLE TIMES COMING STRAIGHT FROM HIGH SCHOOL NAME A PERSON I'LL WAIT..........😂😂😂😂😂

Bro… what is this new bullshit narrative that kobe wasn’t a good defender? Mfs talkin about I didn’t watch him play… shit they must haven’t🤣like dawg I remember watching him live. Bro wasn’t scared of any matchup, he knew and understood he had to play defense in order to win not just score. He was literally a two way player.
