Definitely glad that Ultra instinct omen Goku was able to defeat Kefla, and ultimately inspire Kale and Caulifla to become stronger. It shows how Goku can once again teach the next generation of saiyans to become stronger.

In DBS alone, there has been an entire arc about Future Trunks, a Goten and Trunks Superhero prequal arc, and we even just got an entire movie centered around Gohan and Piccolo. The critque that DB relies on Goku all the time just simply isn't true for modern DB. And even if it was, I don't see why that's a problem. One Piece has been going for 20+ years and luffy is still the main character, i dont see anyone complaining. When your character is as goated as Luffy or Goku, its completely ok for them to be the center of the story.

Trunks had to come and get Goku and Vegeta help in that arc, who fight against who? Goku (black) as well, finally we get in super hero some much needed attention to Piccolo mainly and secondary Gohan, who does almost nothing but get mad at the end of the film, Piccolo is the one who carries that film, which I didn't have a problem with. Still they choose to show that Goku and Vegeta are training with Broly, which they will expand in another arc. They even got a cheap reason for staying young for a long time. "Saying don't age quickly, their youth is longer to be able to fight more, then they age rapidly". and die.

Using the kamehameha to grind another ki beam later became a staple for UI Goku, if you see his fight with Jiren and slow down you see that Goku has tiny kamehamehas on his feet so he's skating all the beam spam.
Same exact thing with me. Had no interest with Super, I thought I was done with Dragonball at this point. But then the Tournament of Power hit different. It was specifically this scene of Goku vs Kefla that pulled me back in. When he hit the Slip N Slide kamehameha, I'm like "welp! I guess let me start watching this from the Beerus saga and work my way back here so I can enjoy this shit with proper context."
The worst part about this entire fight is that it’s fairly comfortably implied that if Goku was anywhere near full Hp and Stamina he would have made Kefla look weak and he wouldn’t have even had to go all out. Like yo it was stated a bit before he fought Kale and Caulifa that when Goku was in Super Saiyain God he was equal in strength to his normal super saiyain. So like yeah Kefla has to go out knowing that she lost to Goku that was running on like 2% of his full power.
on the other hand, it took all that and more to push him to glow up to MUI, that had all the gods standing for the national anthem, pledge allegiance to the flag and everything. so at least they were doing something
to be fair to kefla here, goku in UI omen was still going to get ONE SHOT by kefla's lasers if even a single one hit. Omen has a much higher multiplier than even Blue kaiokenx20. so doing that math, a berserk super saiyan 2 kefla probably was at least as strong as a full power super saiyan blue goku. This is further supported since gohan in the manga (who matches super saiyan blue and lost to kaioken blue) ties with kefla. obviously manga and anime scaling is different, but you get what im saying here, if she could potentially ONE SHOT Ui omen, if goku had been at full strength, she likely could have kept up with at least full power super saiyan blue. and also remember kefla was getting stronger by the second in that form, her power is constantly stated to be skyrocketing. so eventually she'd likely even match a kaioken blue goku, though presumably, her fusion would give out due to her using too much energy too quickly as it did upon her defeat.

The coolest thing to me about Goku, really is that he was fighting to save everyone. Later, in super he says he just loves to fight and ignorantly risks the entire universe for it, but earlier in Dragonball history, he does say he wants to protect people, he's sad people will be hurt, he judges Frieza for wanting evil on innocent people, and all that. So he is a hero, who just got so strong, he's just obsessed with getting stronger I think. He's just numb from age.
depends on the version of the story you watched. kai/japanese versions of goku don’t have him as a hero, he just loves to fight but not at the cost of innocent lives.

This low key was my favorite battle of the tournament, yes even over mine vs Top. Kakarot had his back against the wall against THE legendary Super Saiyan and a quickly evolving one. Bc Piccolo pointed something out. UI needed a catalyst of a heavy attack, like the spirit bomb. Which means Kefla's kick in the neck was BEYOND the Spirit Bomb. And it is speculated that if Goku used the first UI against her, she would have won

Definitely glad that Ultra instinct omen Goku was able to defeat Kefla, and ultimately inspire Kale and Caulifla to become stronger. It shows how Goku can once again teach the next generation of saiyans to become stronger.
If only they give the next generation a chance, cause from the looks of things, they're gonna keep pushing the Goku envelope. I love him don't get me wrong, but it's like they fear doing dragon ball without having Goku running the main plot

In DBS alone, there has been an entire arc about Future Trunks, a Goten and Trunks Superhero prequal arc, and we even just got an entire movie centered around Gohan and Piccolo. The critque that DB relies on Goku all the time just simply isn't true for modern DB. And even if it was, I don't see why that's a problem. One Piece has been going for 20+ years and luffy is still the main character, i dont see anyone complaining. When your character is as goated as Luffy or Goku, its completely ok for them to be the center of the story.

They had enough opportunities to really pass the baton to Gohan. And now they have the opportunity to do that with goten and trunks. As for super, wrong again, it has only been Goku and Vegeta based, they've been hyping up ultra instinct since the first arc. Trunks had to come and get Goku and Vegeta help in that arc, who fight against who? Goku (black) as well, finally we get in super hero some much needed attention to Piccolo mainly and secondary Gohan, who does almost nothing but get mad at the end of the film, Piccolo is the one who carries that film, which I didn't have a problem with. Still they choose to show that Goku and Vegeta are training with Broly, which they will expand in another arc. Finally, you can't compare One piece with DB, the pacing is not that same, one piece goes on a daily base and then small time skips, DB goes years in time skips. Goku and Vegeta can't fight forever. They even got a cheap reason for staying young for a long time. "Saying don't age quickly, their youth is longer to be able to fight more, then they age rapidly". and die.

Using the kamehameha to grind another ki beam later became a staple for UI Goku, if you see his fight with Jiren and slow down you see that Goku has tiny kamehamehas on his feet so he's skating all the beam spam.

Same exact thing with me. Had no interest with Super, I thought I was done with Dragonball at this point. But then the Tournament of Power hit different. It was specifically this scene of Goku vs Kefla that pulled me back in. When he hit the Slip N Slide kamehameha, I'm like "welp! I guess let me start watching this from the Beerus saga and work my way back here so I can enjoy this shit with proper context."
The worst part about this entire fight is that it’s fairly comfortably implied that if Goku was anywhere near full Hp and Stamina he would have made Kefla look weak and he wouldn’t have even had to go all out. Like yo it was stated a bit before he fought Kale and Caulifa that when Goku was in Super Saiyain God he was equal in strength to his normal super saiyain. So like yeah Kefla has to go out knowing that she lost to Goku that was running on like 2% of his full power.
on the other hand, it took all that and more to push him to glow up to MUI, that had all the gods standing for the national anthem, pledge allegiance to the flag and everything. so at least they were doing something
to be fair to kefla here, goku in UI omen was still going to get ONE SHOT by kefla's lasers if even a single one hit. Omen has a much higher multiplier than even Blue kaiokenx20. so doing that math, a berserk super saiyan 2 kefla probably was at least as strong as a full power super saiyan blue goku. This is further supported since gohan in the manga (who matches super saiyan blue and lost to kaioken blue) ties with kefla. obviously manga and anime scaling is different, but you get what im saying here, if she could potentially ONE SHOT Ui omen, if goku had been at full strength, she likely could have kept up with at least full power super saiyan blue. and also remember kefla was getting stronger by the second in that form, her power is constantly stated to be skyrocketing. so eventually she'd likely even match a kaioken blue goku, though presumably, her fusion would give out due to her using too much energy too quickly as it did upon her defeat.

The coolest thing to me about Goku, really is that he was fighting to save everyone. Later, in super he says he just loves to fight and ignorantly risks the entire universe for it, but earlier in Dragonball history, he does say he wants to protect people, he's sad people will be hurt, he judges Frieza for wanting evil on innocent people, and all that. So he is a hero, who just got so strong, he's just obsessed with getting stronger I think. He's just numb from age.
depends on the version of the story you watched. kai/japanese versions of goku don’t have him as a hero, he just loves to fight but not at the cost of innocent lives.
