- The Voices of Liberty is an a cappella singing group that performs at the American Adventure pavilion in EPCOT at Walt Disney World. They are known for their exceptional vocal harmonies and patriotic performances. The group often performs classic American songs and patriotic tunes in the rotunda of the American Adventure attraction.

What’s with the scooped notes? Do they even realize they’re doing it?
They always have. It's written in the score to scoop certain notes. Meant to be contemporary American music. Not classical. Derric Johnson - the creator and arranger of the Voices of Liberty was adamant about his sopranos not sounding like classical singers.

It doesn't seem excessive. Maybe you don't understand the style.
@@peterlewis1061 I noticed that in previous years, they didn't scoop as much as they are recently. In the Tiffany Coburn era, it seemed more subtle, and less frequent.
@@jesuspectre9883 @peterlewis1061 I've always noticed it. I think it MAY have gotten more pronounced in the Voctave era - but that's just me. I have 2 of the original recordings of Voices of Liberty on vinyl and there was a LOT of scooping. The blend was not nearly as good as the later recordings (Acapella Americana and A Slice of A Capella) but I like it either way. :-) They're still remarkable musicians and vocalists.
They don't even look like Voices of Liberty! I think it's obvious why the change in sound!
