I’m a certified salesforce admin and once i learned a little bit about notion was my first idea😂😂😂 because of the same reasons you mentioned here. Great work!
Always nice to meet a fellow Salesforce admin 🤝 Yes, cost and complexity is too much for most companies. This is a great start and the nice thing is it has the same data model structure as Salesforce, so when your company grows big enough for Salesforce, it's a seamless transition.
Thanks for the template. I ended up buying the Pro version for $30. Definitely worth it. Here's a question though: You said each contact nicely ties to an account, but I don't see that in the template. When I open a contact, I expect there to be a property like "Account" or "Parent account" or something that tells me which account that contact belongs to. Please clarify how this works. Thanks, and please let me know a better channel to ask questions. EDIT: Ok I figured out there's a quick action there to add a related account. Seems like it sets the Account Owner property. I get it now, but leaving this comment for anyone else getting confused about this.
Thanks for trying out the Pro version and supporting my small business! Yes, the button automation is great for creating that relation. You can also create the contacts from the Account and have them automatically related. The latter is personally how I do it, but created it the other way just in case.
This is so helpful!!! Thank you for offering this amazing template for free and thank you for providing the onboarding material to it! As a co-founder of an early stage company, highly highly appreciate it!
This CMS is really really good! It really streamlines the whole process of the sales and shows sweet statistics of financial and success rate of deals. You can add SEVERAL products to an ongoing deal, which makes this cms also ideal for smaller shops with many products. Its really a sweet alround tool for small businesses which just start out. Well worth the 50 USD
Wow, this is incredible, really impressive job! I hope this will bring a lot of businesses to a stage when they buy Salesforce development from you :D Will use this in the meantime:)
Hi, I bought the professional version, which seems to be missing the nice little dashboard that you show at the beginning of the video with navigation, quick adds, overview of tasks and automations. I realize this could probably be built fairly easily on top, but I'm just wondering if I'm missing anything?
I'll add it in the upcoming version. It's a really simple thing to build and you can watch the video on Notion Quick Add buttons on my channel if you want to learn how to do it yourself until then.
Hi Benjamin, I purchased your optiopp template and was wondering with so many recent Notion updates are you going to provide newer versions for the template?
Awesome, with the additional videos to support this video - do you have instructions on how to tweak it for someone else's business? I just need it for customers and potentially 2-3 services offered.
If you learn the basics of Notion, you should be more than capable of tweaking it to meet specific processes /data your client's have. I would learn by: - Watching videos on RUclips - Visiting the Notion Academy - Reading through Notion's documentation Best of luck!
Thank you, this is great resource and template for small business like us. I have a question, whether this template can be extended to run services and projects as well?
Why is there a block limit? How many blocks is it? Can I delete some and still get benefits from this system? I barely started using this and it said I had a block limit. Very frustrating.
Because that's the way Notion gets people to upgrade from a free plan. I offer a lot even in just the free product and that's why. You can try out other CRMs that offer less features if you would like to stay on Notion's free plan.
This looks really nice! For those who have a contact/request form on a website, when someone fills one of those out online, is there a way to have that info brought over and automatically create a lead in this system?
@@OptiOppNotion I think I'm about ready to buy your template. The other question I was wondering about is if I can take an excel sheet of leads that can be imported into this CRM. If there is something that would need to be created to accomplish that, could I pay you to create that as well? Thanks!

Thank you for the video and for the template. I am a small English teaching business in Okinawa Japan and will be using this to track my pipeline for individual and corporate customers. For my sanity and reporting, I would like to change the currency value to ¥ Japanese yen. This may be a silly question - is it possible? I am admittedly not very savvy and have just begun my learning journey so bare with me.
Hi, I like this tool from the first impression. What I ask myself: In salesforce the total pipeline's value ist also based on the sales cycle stage: An opportunity of 100$ i.e. will be multiplied by the closing chance. Lets assume we are at a low stage in the funnel like prospecting and we would consider this to have a 20% closing chance then, as far as I recall the overall opportunity value would be 100$ times 20% so 20$. Is this included in your notion tool?Maybe that is what you show in opportunity product? But I understood opportunity product as what the opportunity is worth after giving a discount?
I didn't build something like this in the template because I was worried the complexity of managing it would be too much for the average user of Notion. It can be done though by building out a formula and then associating percentages to your stages.
Thanks for that prompt answer. One more question: I am considering to purchase the professional template but have already entered quite some data in the product database and made some modifications in the customer and company database. You recomment to purchase soon as a later purchase may make thinks more complicated. What complications do I have to expect and should I better start from scratch again?@@OptiOppNotion

Hey quick question. I understand every field except the relationship between opportunity and opportunity products. Am I missing something or cant you just have the opportunities product step built into the opportunities step, to simplify and reduce amount of steps needed? Amazing system, I just want to fully understand your thought process :)
Hey Chirp! This is a great question. The reason for the introduction of Opportunity Products is the same reason why Salesforce has them: increased reporting accuracy and flexibility of the system. Here's a great post on the benefits of Opportunity Products: garysmithpartnership.com/opportunity-products/#:~:text=What%20exactly%20are%20opportunity%20products,many%2C%20opportunity%20product%20line%20items. In my years of Salesforce consulting experience, one of the most common mistakes I see is companies not leveraging Opportunity Products in the Salesforce system. Same goes for this system I created in Notion. You will save time not going through all of the extra steps of entering an Opportunity Product, but will see long-term impacts. For example, introducing Opportunity Products (also know as deal line items) gives you the flexibility to produce quotes or invoicing to your customers out of Notion in the future. It allows you to recognize discount amounts & percentages. Hope that helps :)
Does it integrate with mailing software such as Yesware? Does it record emails for each Contact? Or is that all manually done? Does it have any integration with communications?
Yes, you can learn how to do so using this video: ruclips.net/video/cMU1aYR19Io/видео.html You'll want to import your CSVs and then drag them into their databases. Make sure the column names and property types are lined up correctly before doing so.
I don't understand why do we need opportunity and opportunity product as separate units? If "opportunity product" serves as a customised offer, why do we need a separate "opportunity" page? How is it different? What is it's purpose? Why do we need both and why can't we have one?
The benefits are the same as why Salesforce has them in their CRM. You can read about the benefits here: garysmithpartnership.com/opportunity-products/

You can view them here: www.optiopp.com/notion-crm

If you have multiple sales agents how would you make it so they all have different data rolling up?
By using the property named owner, which is a person property type. This will allow you to create different views filtered by person.
