- Looks and rides like 8.3k. Yes, really does! Should be in a Triumph dealers as a demo bike to show how good Triumphs can be if carefully ridden and maintained.
Have just had the engine down for a new starter sprag, the later bigger one, and the bores and journals are like new. No smoke, no rattles, starts at touch of button, runs strong and clean. The Cosworth engine runs and sounds different to standard engines on Speed Triples and Daytonas. Is sharper, and more of a crackle from the carbon wrap cans.
Bike is all factory, and has the optional centre stand fitted, and Scottoiler.
MCT fork set up on front cost £300 when done and transforms the action and handling. Very stable and smooth. Rear shock is factory, but in perfect working order.
New pads all around, blue ones in the Alcons, which are equal to any fitted to a modern bike. loads of feel yet pull you up easily and smooth.
Fairings on these are really excellent, even at 6ft 2 there is no buffeting or turbulence at speed.
Battery is new yellow Motobatt to match the Cosworth yellow ECU.
I could break this for at least 3.5k, or do another CRK on it, but bike rides so well would be criminal damage to have to do that. Has been on Ebay and got to only 2650, due obviously to the mileage.........needs to go abroad and get a KM clock fitted!!!!! If was told it was 18k in Km I guarantee would never tell.
I do also have the original heavy rubber belly pad for the tank now as well to complete the originality.
I guess if i had another decent offer, into 4 figures, for the engine complete with carbs and all ancilliaries, and ECU, i may break the rest. If anyone has a rattler Daytona or Speed Triple, or wants to make a really quick CRK or Speed Triple would be a no brainer. Fit this lump complete, then sell your old lump in bits.........................
