Accounting for Brands in two minutes

Brands are intangible assets, but why are homegrown brands not recognised as assets on the statement of financial position ?

Summary :- Homemade brand is prohibited to recognize as intangible asset , but when the brand is acquired through business combination it would be recognized as intangible asset by measuring their Fair value and would automatically reduce the Good will. Thank you Tom for impactful videos.
