Someone who has been a career for 3 or 4 years should not be making basically the same money as a new career employee that’s stupid. Harsher penalties for management that management that harass employees and violate the contract.
It’s time to allow members the ability to transfer to a different station WITHOUT losing their seniority. Many other unions allow this simple act and yet USPS wants to hold on to this retired way of thinking. I know many members who speak about and want this to be eliminated so members can have more flexibility as we all know life happens and changes need to be made. Thank you for reading.
Come on! UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE need to be paying Career Postal Service Full time Regular employees and workers over $100,000 per year in 2024. Postal Service Workers are clearly underpaid. Mail Handlers should be paid at least $70,000 per year. Mail Processing Clerks should be paid at least $100,000 per year and City Letter Carriers should be paid at least $150,000 per year in 2024.
The fact that APWU livestreams at all is embarrassing to the the other postal unions who refuse this level of transparency in speaking with their members, and leave them in the dark. We cant trust the leadership of NALC, NPMHU or NRLCA without knowing what our dues are going towards. Shotout to you guys at APWU for showing how its done.
Pay wage pay wage pay wage!! I really enjoy working for the USPS, i dont want to just be afloat tho we need more money.. 12 hour days to make the bills and then turn around and say we're America's force c'mon
I wish the transfer process was better. I have been a regular for 5 years and still haven't been able to transfer. Definitely should earn way more and personally, I would prefer working 4 days 10 hour instead of 5 days 8 hour
Pse time counts towards retirement & combined with career yrs should meet the pay for those yrs of service too. Higher pay wages to meet current cost of living. More vacation time. Shorter work week. Seniority to carry through with you no matter where you transfer and move around to. It’s not fair to those who have many years in and starting over at a new facility. Bonuses for employees for their hard work, for x amount of good safety observations, gold star, doing hero training to improve their skills on their own like EAS has, etc. to improve moral and show appreciation to those who are dedicated workers.
Thank you APWU for posting this. The divide between President Dimondstein's comments (on par with our labor movement of proud Postal employees) and PM DeJoys comments (which seemed more about defending the DFA then about labor or contract negiorions) worries me.
Agreed. After talking to some union rep who completely shut me down saying that's not going to change It's so nice to hear it being mentioned not once but like three or four times I believe. 🤞🤞
The APWU focused on the people, while DeJoy focused on the facilities. It really does tell you where the priorities lie. People first, is how we improve our postal service. People aren't just numbers.
Yes! This right here! If I want to contribute to a TSP and have a pension, I should be allowed to do so. My office should also be a six hour office, not a four. Since they won't let us go up though, I will never be able to switch to PTF unless I transfer. But I love my office. Let me be a PTF. We should all be career. What even is a non-career job, so ridiculous. If I'm working there, it's my career. Same with carriers. Non-career positions should not even be a thing. 😡
As far as negotiations go all I really want is a 17% raise that inflation has eaten out of my paycheck do too our federal government poor fiscal policies that's it pay me more and get your fiscal policies inline I don't want benefits easing of work hours. None of that. All I want is to be paid a higher wage so I can pay my child support and survive currently right now not able to do that. It's not fair that McDonald's employees which is hardly even work. Only make $2 or $3 less an hour than I do and I have way more responsibility. Way more expectations. The postal service used to be regarded as a career the way the pay stands now and the current economic conditions, it is no longer a career. It's a throwaway position that you leave as soon as a new opportunity is presented to you and that's sad we need to be paid more
1. Higher wages. On par with what the teamsters and UAW received. 2. Proper staffing so we can actually use our leave (especially for those in level 18s and RMPOs) 3. Actual accountability and consequences for management when they repeatedly violate the contract. I dont care if its done by multiplying the monetary remedy for every infraction or by other means. 4. A real path for dealing with harassment and bullying by management. Director Cash was both inspiring and terrifying in a "I am really glad he is on our side" kind of way.
@@McStrokeAvision if you raise their pay it’s only fair and just to raise people who are career employees pay. One begets the other in theory. So when I say that, I mean both groups need a raise in pay. You got single parents who are barely making it off the pay we have now.
When will we have vehicles to accommodate the numerous packages that we have to deliver.... these packages are getting heavier.....and most often those of us that are still using our personal vehicles.....we have to make several trips......
Amazing how your union is transparent and actually shows contract negotiations while the city letter carrier union has kept carriers in the dark about how our own negotiations are proceeding.

More vacation is definitely needed as well as harsher punishment for management because here in Mobile they’re getting away with a lot. SMH.

Yeah TRACTOR TRAILER NEED TO BE MAKING 115,000 a year
Carriers 150k? 🤣 yea right! Without the others they wouldn’t be delivering mail now would they?
Carriers 150K?? Now that's too much. Maybe Clerks at 100K Carriers at 120K by the end of the contract.
😂😂😂 good luck with that

Wow!!! Shame on NALC!!!! Already a year no contract no update! So proud of this people at apwu!!! Good job
Pretty much just another part of management

Nalc would have turned this comment section off. At least one of the unions is worth a darn
NALC is a joke. We don’t even have an idea what’s on the table!
thanks to APWU ❤ for me being able to be apart of USPS
Please let’s be fair in negotiations
26:24 if you want to skip the introductions and get to the general demands.
Thank you!!
They should also include employees getting bonuses
Exactly but that will never happen
The APWU focused on the people, while DeJoy focused on the facilities. It really does tell you where the priorities lie. People first, is how we improve our postal service. People aren't just numbers.
We should have free health care through the Post Office.
PSEs need to be career, especially those that work alone in a RMPO. Completely self-sufficient and yet hardly make above minimum wage, what a joke.

Put your time in like everyone else
NEED TO CREATE COMPETITIVE WAGES!
Let’s get to the actual negotiations
Need to cut amount of years to be wt top pay to 5 or 6 years
We re govt workers, help with housing would be great

Where are mcdonalds workers making 3$ less an hour than you...
@@nitemarestlk probably California 😂
Employees need a 4 day work week. I have spoken to many employees. They would benefit from a 4 day work week. You need to make that happen.
😂😂.
That's laughable these ppl wouldn't know how to do right if it was put in front of their faces
Other deliveries companies....have vehicles for their workers to make them more productive.....get with USPS
Talk about the Atlanta headaches how bad he messed them up
Just all blah blah blah the post office can care less about there employees. Sad
Enough hot air in here to fill 2,000 hot air ballons.

Each step needs to have a $10k per year raise at minimum.
Raise the hourly wage for PSE’s!!!! Four day work week!!!! With the same pay as a 5-6 day work week!!! This economy is terrible!!!
You mean raise pay for careers. You won’t have PSE’s if you don’t make the career pay competitive…
EXACTLY!! @@McStrokeAvision

I'd like it if all PSE's and PTF's got more minimum hours 6 each day minimum and PSE's start as career.
You should be getting 8 hours a day. I'm on. im on hold down cause an old carrier left, but you should be getting more than a CCA
Ok. Let the games begin! 🤔🤔🤔
We need a better union in the AZ district
When will we have vehicles to accommodate the numerous packages that we have to deliver.... these packages are getting heavier.....and most often those of us that are still using our personal vehicles.....we have to make several trips......
4 day work week for overnight employees
The union is sleeping with the post office. As a PSE we received a 45 cent raise for one year What a joke!!!
2011 PSEs didn't get a raise. $14.60 for three years
Amazing how your union is transparent and actually shows contract negotiations while the city letter carrier union has kept carriers in the dark about how our own negotiations are proceeding.
Motervehicle operators trail far behind their competitors like ups, fed ex. Being a CDL driver here is pathetic
Also 4 day work week
Better yet, 3-12hr days and get paid for 40! 😀
I'd be happy with 5 days one week 6 days. The other I'd also be happy with working 60 hours a week. I just want to be paid a decent wage to do so
I would love a 4day work week and still 40hrs.
@@CodyHvids Unless you are a custodian hired since 2011, I don’t see how you don’t think you are paid a decent wage.
I already a 4 day work week, but I'd like more pay.
Why does it sound like dejoy is advocating FOR the carriers rather than trying to keep our wages down?
4 days work week saves gas and traffic by 20%
Indianapolis, Indiana USA
Dejoy thinks it's a business. It's primarily a SERVICE.
Ask us the actual carriers how things could be better
So much bull shit , just get to the point !
Is this about the NALC? If not I’m out of here lol
Man if TTO don’t make 49 a hour right now I know something
You looking at UPS. They got 10 times more work than us. I ride around empty half the time that shit ain’t happening
The hiring process is slow......sad
😂 👂 💰?
Get rid of the Line H payouts.
